The Matrix [spoRv] *BD-25 RELEASED*
Time

I'm pretty busy these weeks, but I'll do it, sooner or (much more probable) later; here you are somenew screenshots using the same script as the one in post #237 (CM2NEW tweak... too long name, so
I changed it to CM2x) - frankly, even if not perfect, it works much better than the old ones, and, despite
the fact that some parts still should use another source (HDTV probably, or upscaled DVD) - like the now
infamous "green beard Neo" shots - these parts will be a lot less than the ones I used for the first version...
and, frankly, I don't think they look like the BD, but at the contrary I think they are closest to the DVD color
grading than the BD. What do you all think?

Beginner to capturing LD on PC. Help with new video card.
Time

Just to let you know, my old VGX-XL 202 capture card (original factory card) works flawlessly with VirtualDub on Windows XP, but crash with Windows 7...

As your card is quite good, and if you can (and want to) downgrade the O.S. to Windows XP, I'll give it a try... with the "ancient black magic" of analog video capture, sometimes it's the best way to go! (^^,)

Info: Recommended Editions of Disney Animated (and Partially Animated) Features
Time

To upscale the raw capture (480i) to HD (1080p) and get a good quality, I should encode it again, and then upload it somewhere... it will take many days, and I haven't time to do this due to various reasons - as you can see, I stopped to work to every project for the moment...

Apart that, I think the final version is the best compromise - read: not perfect, but the best I could get with an SD capture, and I'm pretty pleased about it, after I worked on it for many months, and thanks to the countless feedback I received to improve it

I must admit some details seems "painted" (e.g. like the tree on the right), but in motion this is not very noticeable, and... this is a cartoon, after all!
And if your aim is to preserve grain, sorry, but the one you can see in the unfiltered version is not grain, but just video noise inherent of the laserdisc format...

Indeed, it's less filtered than the retail BD, with original drawings, and correct (IMHO) color grading, and many others are happy of it.

If, one day, I will be "forced" to work again on BatB, to restore grain I'll probably add a grain plate, as results in other projects are very good... and I will be "forced" to do that ONLY if I'll get a Pioneer HLD-X0 to improve the capture, and frankly, even if I strongly hope for that, it will be a very remote possibility... unless someone would like to make me a gift! (^^,)
