Battlefield Earth - happy to know it's available! It will be used for the project, in a distant future, maybe around the year 3000...

FIST START BUTTON

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously though, that is a pretty funny quote.

Warning, someone could always give you a first in your face! (^^,) (^^,) (^^,)

Leonardo, thanks for the idea!

I'd like to do not be forced to use that box; instead, I could change the color of the text - as you can note, there are two colors, one for the shadow and one for the text; if you could suggest some color combination, I'm all ears!

Also, think this is a 50% reduced version; after you have suggested other possible text colors, I'll post a full version, so you could evaluate both text and screenshot comparison.

UPDATES:

I'm working on this project in this week, and probably it will be ready in a week or so, so keep your eyes open! (^^,)

@jimjimmyjones85: you are very kind, thank you very much!

I decided to NOT spend a large amount of money on a new HDTV, because I'd like to wait for a final UHD standard - to be 100% compatible with the new UHD Blu-ray - rec.2020, 10bit etc.

So, I managed to buy a used "simple" 1080p LED TV from a friend - barely used, seems still brand new... hope to get it soon!

Disney's Beauty and the Beast [spoRv] BD-25 (Released)

Aspect ratio: Laserdisc 1 from the previous comparison wasn't my capture...

About aliasing: the final version use different avisynth scripts, so low def is not that good, while final result is better IMHO... here you are the comparison between the raw laserdisc capture (bicubic resize), and [spoRv]:

I don't say [spoRv] version is perfect, at the contrary... it's just my preferred compromise, that's it!

If an unfiltered version is so necessary, I could do it, just let me know if an x264 8Mbps version should do...

Must have been a really cheapo DVD recorder, as I've not had those kind of issues.

There were problems with the laserdisc, not the recorder.

The disc itself could have some dropouts, but using an high quality laserdisc player, like X0 or X9, AND a pc with a good capture card, should improve the quality a lot!

Looks GREAT kk650 :)

Agree! Faces were a bit too yellow in V2.1 (at least, in my uncalibrated small monitor) while they seem perfectly healthy in V2.2! (^^,)

Personally, I think to preserve grain it's better, for a 1080p version, to stay above 16mbps - or more likely above 20mbps; so, a smaller size would not retain all the grain... IMHO of course!
