if this DVD checks out, these are the specs:

4.38 GB's (damn did I get lucky on this LOL)
16:9 anamorphic video @ 2.35:1 encoded at 4200 avg bitrate
Dolby Digital 5.1 @ 384kbps(untouched Laserdisc rip,Thanks to Darth Editous)
Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround @ 224kbps (untouched Laserdisc rip captured with video)
NO Menu's,Movie only, chapters, audio selectable by your DVD player remote.

and now for the HUGE Thanks to Darth Editous for the 5.1 audio file! IT SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!!!

The audio took A LOT of work but it payed off in the end, took me quit a few hours to get ESB all sync'd up and edited back together, because I got the files in LD sides, not 1 file for the whole film,so now that I have done this once already, hopefully ANH and ROTJ will not take as long.

Great now if only it was uploaded to the spleen.  Like the v3.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

Lucas cannot be bothered with having a branching feature, or you could watch Phantom Menace in its theatrical version and they would include the theatrical audio as heard on the laserdisc.

Not my favorite film of all time however the theatrical cut is so much better than the DVD version which lags.

The only way i can watch the theater version is on laserdisc with burnt in subtitles and dubious picture quality for a late in the formats life Laserdisc release.

The final destruction of star wars is complete with no restoration of the originals there is no viable film print for theatrical exhibition ever in the future, never mind no decent home video release. The films themselves will be forever lost.

Lucas self fulfilled mission to erase the originals from all but our childhood memories is complete.

Season 4 of clone wars will most likely be the only new Lucasfilm tv or movie project in production, as i doubt the tv series live action will happen now, or any more theater films.

So people can look forward to season 3 as a DVD/blu ray set and wait to see season 4.

I would like to have the deleted scenes and making ofs in standard def, but i am not willing to shell out money for them in 1080P just to get 6 bad movies i don't want.  I only want the oot.

Criterion is definitely good enough even as a small studio that their newer HD transfers of Kurosawa's films were borrowed in Japan for the Japanese releases.

Some of the films had no original negative but the new scans were done at 2K.

Cannot remember the exact titles i think it was Toho who used the US masters.  They did the same for Godzilla, which i think is horrible as the us release is junk in comparison to the new prints they were running in theaters for the anniversary release.

As for the oot the metaphor i see is like the original movies except this time the evil empire won, and the rebellion aka oot fans lost.

Once again the true fans of the real star wars trilogy circa 1977-1983 are screwed.  Lucas excuse this time "its an oxymoron" to restore the films.

Its not an oxymoron more like Moronic not to restore and release what people want.

There probably no from star wars to jedi for the same reason i bet the old Lucas material from the making of jedi book won't be in the new making of book.

In both Lucas says story is more important than effects.

Which makes me LOL thinking about the prequels and all this original vision garbage.

Not only are the originals not restored or not included which in itself is insane, you have to buy the prequels to get the oot deleted senes and making ofs.

I don't even want the 2004.  Give me an option to buy just the oot the deleted scenes and making ofs, or even a bare bones 1080P oot without expensive clean up as long as it is HD and not completely faded.

I think it goes without saying i am strongly boycotting this release.

I am not a twit or i would post to Katie talking about how her dad destroyed both star wars and indiana jones.
