Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast
Time

I don't know what is worse Nolan's take on Catwoman or Superman, both images released around the same time.  Both awful.

Inception was absolute garbage too if not for the somewhat cool teaser trailer i would be worried for Nolan's third batman film.

Not as worried as Superman or Spider-man, but its something to watch to see if its a nice third times the charm fail of most film series.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Well you are essentially correct but the Skywalker portion is a correction from Starkiller in the shooting script.

The Adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the journal of the whills.

Luke's father Annikin Starkiller was at that point a separate character from Darth Vader.

Info: Thread Closed, Please Delete. Thanks
Time

The anthology was finally released on blu ray without the longer TV cut of Superman.

I was surprised that according to a review they actually bothered to include the 35mm mix in 2.0 on the blu ray of the theatrical cut, i don't have a blu ray player and have no way of knowing if the 5.1 is another new mix or the 70mm mix which all have been waiting years to hear again.

Any news on the release status of this project would be welcome.

(Kind of sad that this movie's "prediction" was way off on just about everything except for gas prices.  We look to be on target for the $7/gallon prices in 4 more years.  Assuming we don't overshoot it. (Even more sad that the movie wasn't trying too hard to actually predict things and were probably trying to be as sensational as possible with things like gas prices.  Instead, they were just right)).

So basically Bob Z foresaw Obama.

The Best Films Year-by-Year, according to Ziggy Stardust

I am sticking to my beliefs, and I think Forrest Gump is better than True Lies.

I disagree i see that film as genius because of that film people were under the illusion that Cameron was a far right Republican, Avatar clears up any such illusions.

Before Cameron went full bore leftist, he started the moralizing pc bull in T2 and it continued on from there.

If they do that, acting in front of green screen shouldn't be any more difficult than doing a stage play in which there's just a couple chairs and a black backdrop.

It is more difficult. A single act of a stage play can go on uninterrupted for more than an hour. This gives an actor a chance to lose himself or herself in a role. Films, on the other hand, have a lot of downtime where an actor must either remain in that emotional state off-camera or be able to return to that state on cue, after hours of sitting in a nice trailer, surrounded by crew, the noises of set construction, snacking, making calls, planning their appearances, etc.

Stage acting also allows significantly more rehearsal time than film acting, which also helps with finding the right tone and delivery for a performance.

That is why film actors have often said they like elaborate sets and location-shooting, because it helps bring the situation to life and maintain that illusion even between takes.

There is that, but cgi and greenscreen are exceptionally lazy, whereas real sets or locations add to the realism where cgi takes you out of the moment and renders it at the level of a bad children's cartoon if not done well.

The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars movie. Or is it?
Time

The Battle between Yoda and Palpatine in the senate was so Ridiculous as to be laugh out loud unintentionally funny.

The Theater was laughing so hard at that scene and the mustafar duel, the romance between padme and Anakin, actually everything was funny in that trainwreck of a movie including Anakin's outburst at not being made a master on the council.

He dosen't care. He has enough money that a studio-destroying fiasco wouldn't hurt him in the slightest bit.

Interesting how he's more willing to gamble his money on new 3D versions than releasing the OOT on Blu-Ray.

He is willing to spend millions to put Jar Jar in 3-D but not restore and release the real theatrical original trilogy, that in my world is called insanity.

Welcome to Bizarroworld Jar Jar steps in poo in 3-D but no original star wars on blu ray, lol.

to blaming Spielberg and Lucas for inventing the blockbuster.

I think the blame is more about bad films like the star wars prequels, indiana jones IV, The war of the worlds remake and bayformers.

Nobody i know blames Lucas and Spielberg for their good movies Pre Jurassic Park , except for  Biskind and he is a joke imho.

I was referring to the perception that the era of big budget blockbuster driven summer movies changed Hollywood for the worse. Jaws and Star Wars are the usual suspects blamed in that scenario.

You mean this view has been put out there as fact by the likes of Peter Biskind hack journalist.  His book Easy Riders, Raging Bulls is a waste of good trees.
