***The Official ANGRYSVN UNAUTHORIZED COLLECTION*** Release Thread
Time

Just the international cut, which is on the official 5 disc retail dvd briefcase, or blu ray.

It is non anamorphic, interlaced on the Rikter dvd.

The official version is restored not sure if the color timing is any different on the dvd versus the laserdisc though, which makes a preservation of this sort kind of valid to hold onto.

Is not the Tv cut the same as the theatrical with the narration but only censored and therefore unremarkable?

Deleted scenes on the 2011 BD...

Who is the "old woman on Tattooine" from ANH? Some of these scenes, I've not heard of/don't know what they're referring to...

The lady who tells Luke to slow down, because he is driving his landspeeder too fast. Coming into Toche Station. Of course in a hurry because he has just seen the stardestroyer overhead overtaking the tantive IV with his macrobinoculars.

He almost runs the lady down with his speeder, Luke's a crazy drunk driver just like Marty Mcfly.

     Speaking of bonus discs...

I watched the THX 1138 SE recently. Outstanding restoration and enhancement.

I'd like to see Amgraf and THX included in an SW saga set!

I suppose that would create problems with the different studios and lost profit on the single sales.

OTOH, it would make the saga sets even more appealing and provide vastly greater distribution and awareness for those two great films.

I think I'm going to go out and get drunk now. ;)

Agreed, Lucas destroyed Thx 1138 the same way he did star wars.  CGi lizards and monkeys, wtf.

Worst Dialogue from the OT.
Time

I am going to go out on a limb and say there is nothing i dislike about the oot, in terms of dialogue, pacing. storytelling, effects etc.

Any of the real cringe worthy lines were not in the final film, someone else actor or scriptwriter made the dialog better.

On Star Wars, Huyck/Katz rewrote 30% plus of the dialogue.

Empire written by Kasdan, then rewritten on set by Ford and Kersh.

While the story of Jedi is mostly Lucas if not for Kasdan and Marquand, Hamill and Fisher's input it would have been a disaster on the order of crystal skull or revenge of the sith.

"the first transport is away!" - upload is finished. please provide feedback.

coming up next:

 - Episode 5 Silverscreen VHS Fullscreen Capture Title Crawl [including Trailers]

 - Episode 6 Silverscreen VHS Fullscreen Capture Title Crawl [including Trailers]

 - Episode 4 Silverscreen VHS Fullscreen Capture Title Crawl [5 analog captures for the two_of_three(?) filter.]

 - my already in the year 2006 released mpeg2-encoding of the original theatrical intro (logos & title crawl), a few filters and a gout starfield background-pic were applied.

Finally a source for the episode 5 vivaldi trailer, even if in german with german subs.  At least its not a reconstruction or a bad cammed copy of a faded scratched print.

Chance to talk to Lucasfilm about the new SW Blu-rays. What do YOU want to know?
Time

I want to know why the original films cannot be released in a restored quality on dvd/bluray.

And no i will not except its an oxymoron as an answer.

Especially since Spielberg, Scott and others can release multiple versions of their films on home video without some kind of childish "i will do what i want they are my movies" foot stomping tirade.

Which Batman film is your favorite?
Time

Without the Spirit or the Shadow, Batman the comic probably would not exist, and Bob Kane gets all the credit for it when he was not the only creative hand in it.

Its like Stan Lee taking all the credit for Marvel, and Jack Kirby is forgotten.

Xhonzi i think the public opinion on comics goes back to the creation of the comics code and the censorship which shut down EC comics because they would not do censored books.

Also they claimed the comics had a bad influence on children and it was Communists influencing kids, commie propaganda.

Politicians especially the Religious right violated the sovereign rights of Americans freedom of speech, with this censorship its just like pre code Hollywood before they came in and cleaned up all the sex and nudity to appease hard right Christians.

Too bad in time even liberals got in on censorship like AL Gore's Ex wife.

Saw Super 8 last night. Simply fantastic. The kids were great. It's the first 'summer blockbuster' film I've seen in long while that cares about the characters and takes time to get to know them. It's like Stand By Me+The Goonies+ET+Close Encounters+Jaws.

8 out of 10 balls.

I must agree with your assessment of super 8.  Only i kind of resent it because its responsible for the long delay for star trek 12, or 2 as its now being called.

That and crap like MI4. Which JJ is not even directing.
