The best anime series of there for all you star wars or star trek fans is space battleship yamato/ star blazers. Miyazakis films are awesome. Then theres eighties cartoons like droids, transformers, he man, thundercats, gi joe etc.

This guy is stupid, there are plenty of game with good stories. The final fantasy series comes to mind, metal gear, zelda and knights of the old republic. Just because games are betting better at becoming more like interactive movies does'nt mean there has to be no story. I think this guy at lucasarts must just have no story on the brain because the prequels were like a video game with no story.

The final movie had neo's sacrificing himself for mankind, similar to christ. The directors wove christian themes into the movies. We already had the sacrificial death in revolutions. I was sitting there watching the movie and thought the next thing you know there we be a sequel where we see him resurrected.

The cancellation of a good show like enterprise is not acceptible when there is so much crap on t.v. Besides the fact that star trek has been going down hill ever since berman took over in 1994. Please hand the writing over to judith and garfield reeves stevens, and put the roddenberry family as the producers. They would know more about Gene's Vision than Berman, they would'nt wreck the franchise. Plus it is intolerable that Rick Berman had alienated the cast of the original star trek and not allowed them creative imput over the franchise. there should have been more classic films and next generation films. With good writing and scripts it could've been done, but now to make a movie which has nothing to do with any of the t.v. shows or actors. Why No Enterprise movies? The last episode of enterprise was as pathetic as nemesis was.

the making of raiders of the lost ark came with the indy trilogy set as a best buy exclusive. and I think some of the others came in a special japanese boxset on laserdisc.

I own it it's not anamorphic or real widescreen but letterboxed. Also this set is really bad because Return of the Jedi in this set is misformated, which means it is not centered to the middle frame. The first set to have this corrected is the 1995 VHS widescreen boxset faces edition, or the '93 definitive collection ld or the 1995 faces ld. The hologram packaging is pretty cool though, and it comes with the trilogy version of george lucas creative impluse excerpt. and from star wars to jedi.

What about the british docs on revenge of the sith like the one on skyone and the two that were given out in newspapers in the u.k. There is also george lucas: flying solo bbc omnibus special. Mark hamill interviews on the big breakfast and gmtv. George Lucas interview on the big breakfast. Footage of the u.k. special edition premiere.

The original emperor was to be a nixonian, wizard of oz type character behind the curtain. A puppetmaster pulling the strings but never really seen. There are drafts of the screenplay though when Cos Dashit is said to have a wicked mustache. He seems to be consciously modeled on hitler. But lucas has also said nixon. And the empire was partially based on the united states, because of vietnam. Although mostly it was based on a tolitarian government of oppresion. lucas said he based Chancellor Valorum on Bill Clinton. And now he has so much as said that in revenge of the sith the emperor sidious is a political parralel for George W. Bush, and how Like Bush sidious used the seperatists and the war to get more power and slowly take away peoples freedom, Just like 9/11 was the excuse for the patriot act and the war in iraq. It was all done out of security. He (Lucas again) praised Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911, and said we have to question authority of government, because according to him in iraq we have another vietnam. He wrote the original screenplay for Apocalypse Now and THX 1138, and they were saying the same things big brother is out to get us all.

He was married to one of the greatest editor's in the history of cinema, Marcia Lucas, and yet he still managed to screw it all up. But i can't but feel sorry for him, since he loved her so much. And I think the whole prequels fiasco, special editions, howard the duck etc. Are all because of his life spinning out of control, a downward spiral.

Read the making of revenge of the sith. In it it describes how lucas was in fact considering making anakin the son of palpatine by way of midichlorians. Imagine that, palps is actually Luke skywalkers and leias grandfather. creepy huh?

Seriously though, i does take all the mystery and mysticism out of it all. I even think if Joseph Campbell were alive he would tell lucas it just ruins the mystery. By the way he thought the original star wars films were wonderfull. And that was long before the special edition or prequels, If they were good enough for old joe then they are good enough for me.

The only thing that seems to me to make sense is barring continuity issues aside is, That the main star wars story is about 1 family the skywalkers. And even continues into the expanded universe with han and leia's children, and luke and mara's. the other stories to me have always been filler, or interesting side stories. That anakin and luke were so much alike, but made different choices and went down different paths. That as lucas has said repeatedly, are we going to make the same mistakes as the last generation and fall into the same pitfalls as our fathers did before us. we must learn from the past generations mistakes and pass that onto our children.

I bought 68.64 worth of star wars merchandise from cd universe. They never sent my stuff, or refunded the money. They claim I was never charged when it is on my bank statement, obvious fraud. Just telling you all to steer clear from buying from these crooks

I believe TR 47 offers the original version of thx 1138 from laserdisc source on dvd as a bonus, when buying his star wars set. He does not sell it separetely, also I think ocpmovie also has it. Maybe Rikter does too?

Lucas has revealed that the jedi had a hidden agenda when he commented on the films. He talked about how Luke was lied to believe he was training to get revenge on the man who killed his father, who killed his mentor obi wan. They were training him to kill his own father because yoda and obi wan could not bring themselves to destroy him. Lucas said his films are not as simple as people think, good vs. evil, and said he would show how a loved and loving person in the prequels could turn to evil. Their are a lot of grey areas, morality and perception. Lucas biggest message is the same one that is in world myth, and the bible that the darkness comes from within. That we enter the labyrinth to slay the monster, and find that the monster is within us. Star wars is more about inner struggle, than outer struggle.

It's really funny that afi gave him a lifetime achievement award, considering the version of star wars and empire on their list are not the special edition or 2004 edition. Also notice it is for pioneering special effects, not for making the greatest space fantasy of all time or for genius of storytelling.

I think Boba Fett's popularity is because he's mysterious. He sort of Like Clint Eastwood's character in the man with no name trilogy, or like yojimbo a ronin.

there was a guy selling a 3 hour plus cut of the film on ebay with pre viz and a temp track, but he was pulled from ebay. Don't know if this is the same as workprint because i have not seen it, but i have read the screenplay and novelization and i know there was a lot of deleted scenes even stuff that won't end up on the dvd. Also John Williams wrote more music for the movie than ended up in the film. Too bad theres no ultimate score for episode II or III like episode I. Just like the original star wars lucas was revising the script as the movie was being filmed, so we won't see rough cuts on the dvd. Too bad he won't release the star wars holy grail, the rough cut for episode IV, which only exists in a silent black and white film on 3 reels with partial dialogue and sound that drops out. The Color dailies footage still exist though so this cut could be restored.

most sites are saying november 8th for revenge of the sith 2 disc dvd. The true box set will not come out till the 30th anniversary of a new hope. Besides lucas announcement of 3d treatments for all six films, at 1 a year, I have heard reports of another theatrical release of all six movies for the anniversary. so who knows what will happen, but since the hd format is not coming out to at least next year, the ultimate box set probalbly i'm betting is a least a couple years away, lucas is going to use this format to do a definitive young indy experience. coming out also earlier in november reportedly is clone wars dvd part 2. And next year star wars t.v. show.

My favorites are binary sunset, and chasm crossfire, throne room and end titles from a new hope. If i had to pick one it would be binary sunset, or funeral pyre for a jedi film version. It's hard to decide the original trilogy scores are all good including the newly scored material by john williams, but jedi rocks is crap. If I had to pick any from the prequels it would be duel of the fates, across the stars, and battle of the heroes. by the way the opera like duel between luke and vader in jedi was based upon the operas of wagner like the ring.

The new empire footage between vader and palpatine ruins the original ending of empire, because it is revealed earlier in the movie that vader is luke's father, so it wrecks the dark revelation "I AM YOUR FATHER!". The reason i'm saying this is imagine your seeing empire for the very first time, as their will be people doing being younger and newer to star wars, it gives away the ending of the movie making it anticlimatic. Not only that, originally we had to wait three years musing that vader lied to luke, only to find out the horrible revelation from yoda in jedi. The first movie IV made us trust obi-wan and like him, so we would be more willing to believe that old ben was telling the truth, and vader was lying. Revenge of the sith revealed that the jedi were all too willing to lie for their own agenda, and do immoral things to achieve their ends. Anakin was partially right that the jedi order was becoming corrupt, and after all he was being used for his gifts. So palpatine lied to him, a lie with a grain of truth.
