Could live action SW TV show look like BSG??
Time
by the way does anyone on these boards think that star wars will turn around and be what it was before it was ruined, i've been thinking for sometime about moving on with my life since someone who i will not name has ruined one of the fondest pastimes of my childhood. And if the t.v. show is anything like ron moore's crap tastic botch job please get me a barf bag. PLus if he copied galactica he would only get sued by them just like he sued them for copying star wars back in the heyday of the late 70's. Besides the fact moore and braga and berman ruined the star trek franchise and ran it into the ground, so much so that patrick stewart refused to ever be picard again.

quote "Lucas added: "Lucasfilm is going more into television, but it's not a vision I'm running, either as executive producer or by laying out the groundwork."
this is an outright lie since he said at celebration 3 that he was behind the transition to television shows, and he was executive producing writing and directing the whole first season of the live action show. He would give over the reins afterwords, and that like young indy they were going to write up all the scripts which will take years then shoot them all at once. But i don't believe him since he said the same thing about the prequels in the leonard maltin interview, and he's lied about a dozen times about his never considering an episode 7-9, i mean he admitted at one point that he has all the outlines for 1-9. Plus now he claims the story has always been about vader, but that idea did'nt even come about till jedi was almost completely shot and in the can. The original story was about Luke Starkiller and was from the journal of the whills, who became luke skywalker. I hate his revisionist ruining of the original trilogy of films i loved as a child, i wish now he never had made the special editions or the prequels. I had always wanted to see the sequel to jedi but now i'm glad he never made one, or will because the prequels certainly do not live up to the much loved unmolested originals. By the way a fan in the audience at c3 asked him about willow 2 the movie, and he said he was talking to warwick davis about doing a television show, but he also said like a lot of things it may never come to fruition.

Sith at the Oscars.
Time
lord of the rings won because it's director peter jackson never publicly ridiculed the academy or hollywood the way lucas has. Besides the point, marcia lucas said according to the book skywalking he would have won if he wanted to, but he thinks the academy awards are just b.s. not indicative of a person's talent. oh by the way, I saw the lion the witch and the warbrobe trailer before revenge of the sith and it was better than that whole movie, being from the same creative people behind lord of the rings trilogy films, except of course peter jackson, it was directed by the guy who did shreck 1 and 2 don't know his name.

Episode 3: DVD - Released november 1st
Time
quote "Episode 3: DVD - Released november 1st" will get just for the second disc. Albeit for me to complain the cover art really sucks, i like the art their using for the book the rise of darth vader, they should do something like that. And i few screwed by the dvd double dip since they will release the ulitmate box set with More classic trilogy features and i'm left with a pile of crap lightsabers f*** UP 2004 edition set. With the bad sound and garbage mattes so noticeable i really should've thrown it in the trash or stomped back to best buy and demanded they give me my money back since it was marketed as the original trilogy not crappy special editions with added fixes. and no deleted scenes just like they did not release with indiana jones but promised, and no original documentaries like from star wars to jedi. They should have done at least two discs for each movie, i mean they did it for the prequels and like their is not a ton of unused stuff in the archives like footage we would die to see like the lost cut of a new hope.

Post-NJO -- Thoughts?
Time
Just hope it will be good. Only liked some of new jedi order, hated them killing chewie and anakin solo. I liked the oft made fun of series by bantam better than new jedi order but maybe that because i'm now more older and jaded by the prequels and everything eu now trying to be tied into prequels. One new Luke and mara book by zahn was released and like a zillion to fit in with episode III. I want my old classic star wars back with my favorite chracters!

Newer episode of family guy where peter goes blind from eating nickles and saves the bar tender and gets a medal star wars a new hope style. Family guy episode on dvd that was never aired on television where luke pokes meg's eye out with his light saber on accident doing cosmetic surgery.

So how many times did you actually see Sith
Time
I saw it once and i'm sad i will not get to see what happens to han luke and leia from george's perspective since theres no 7-9 . I would pay even just to see an episode 7 movie that would be kind of a reunion of the original cast, that could at least end cap the series or show just hamill as an aging jedi master who pases on the torch to the next generation of jedi knights. I always thought if the sequel trilogy was made it would be a really neat idea if luke had a son who turned to the dark side and luke would have to try to bring him back from the brink, instead of the son saving the father, the father would save the son. It would be about the sins of anakin skywalker being revisited by his grandson.

Info & Help: looking for... other ld-rips to dvd movies ex. blade runner int cut, songs of the south, frighteners dir cut - and much much more...
Time
I know this thread is mainly about ld transfers of rare films but i would like to discuss rare films not on ld.

I'm been looking for this:

Battlestar Galactica: Extended Version: 1977, 148 minute version. Original broadcast pilot and feature shown in Canadian theatres. 28 minutes longer than the DVD, and VHS versions currently on the market. This version is floating around the internet, but still hard to find. Stars Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict.

just wanted to know if anyone has come across it.

plus there is a website called serialsquadron.com that has this posted:
Rocket Ship
Starring Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon
Jean Rogers as Dale Arden
Charles Middleton as Ming the Merciless
Priscilla Lawson as Princess Aura

Something new and different! The feature version of the original Flash Gordon serial--in widescreen and the amazing new 3-color Malavision toning technique which gives a more natural appearance to scenes by allowing the use of multiple hues in connection to corresponding brightness values without colorization and gives a James Bama-like feel to every scene! The widescreen process is achieved by cropping the image normally from top to bottom and extending the transfer beyond the normally cropped horizontal area to produce a widescreen proportion ratio. Extras TBA.

Progress: Transfer complete. Tints and effects in process.

does anyone has the dune extended edit on dvd as transfered from the japan laserdisc (best available source)?

Comics Fans
Time
Dark horse comics is the current best comic company, in my humble opinion. Dave Dorman is an awesome artist. But my favorite artists writers are:

Al Williamson

Archie Goodwin

Alex Raymond

Hal Foster

Jack Kirby

Frank Frazetta

Al Williamson's star wars stuff is great, and so is his flash gordon e.c. stuff. He in my mind is the direct descendant of Raymond, and is my second favorite artist. Alex Raymond has to be the immortal of comics history.

Hero (not the movie)

anyone who talks on a cellphone at the movies, church or a public library should be beat down. yuppies who drive crazy and talk on cellphones makes me really mad, and they even cut you off in traffic. If they get themselves killed i say good riddance, but harming innocent bystanders and other drivers or making people unsafe if not cool.
