Idea: a Virtual "Lost Cut"
Time
the only problem is trying to actually verify what WWII films and docs were used and what scenes. I believe in some star wars documentaries there are split screen clips.

I believe some of the films are:

The dam busters

Tora! Tora! Tora!

The bridges at toko ri ( not sure if I spelled this right).

some of the stuff is documentary footage of japanese zero fighters vs allied forces.

even earlier cuts of the films had preliminary storyboards thet would cut to, by joe johnston etc.

plus the temp track music was on there, and by the way the lost cut was originally in color, but only exists now in black in white. But the color dailies exist, the proof is certainly there.
watch the trilogy documentary on the official dvd and you will see what I mean.

if someone at lucasfilm actually cared they could carefully reconsruct the edit from the archived dailies, or at least offer them as supplements on dvd and leave the rest to us fan editor's.

But just like the oot trilogy lucas consider's this a rough cut, and wanted it buried and never publicly released.

Just like they will not publish the screenplay drafts, or story treatments. even with the petitioning of such sites like starkiller ( the jedi bendu script site).

"The Clones Revealed" (Released)
Time
there is a lot of really neat episode 1 material on the Lucasarts behind the scenes cd rom for phantom menace, and some on the trilogy cd rom behind the magic.

There is also an interview with Lucas on the limited edition cd book unabridged from the phantom menace.

t'bones site has some of the best material and link to other such sites.

Bits of deleted scenes for the phantom menace or alternate camera angles can be found in the trailers, many which did not end up on the official dvd.

Why is Leia a princess?
Time
Two reasons:

1. Her mother was Queen of Naboo
2. Her adoptive mother was Queen of Alderaan

Before he became first chairman and viceroy of alderaan Bail Organa was called king of alderaan before lucas changed this.

Originally it was hinted at from the arthurian mythos in a new hope that Luke's father may have been a King, or a prince, see the mythology of star wars book from the smithsonian.

A royal consort to the former queen of Naboo, or A Dark Lord of the Sith second in command only to the emperor himself, not too far off the mark.

The myth of the bloodline of heroes.

Why is she given such a position of power albeit in a democracy, because she was Anakin Skywalker's daughter the most powerfull of all the jedi, and the most feared of the Sith Lords Darth Vader. Of course her political skills and humanitarian skills came from Padme but her fierceness and fiery spirit came from anakin.

Star Wars: The Interactive Video Board Game (1996, Parker) (* unfinished project *)
Time
this tape is inexpensive and not hard to come by one ebay.

Though depends on where you live whether the u.k. pal
The French Pal
or the u.s. NTSC

Can't believe no one has transfered this yet or tracked down the articles on the making of it, as it was the last time GIl Taylor And Dave Prowse worked together on star wars.

Neither of which were included in the making of the prequel trilogy to it's detriment I say, but that is another story.

Grinder's PAL widescreen project (Released)
Time
grinder I personally cannot what for your release of rotj as it was my fave as a kid and I still have fond memories of seeing it in it's 1985 re-release.

It had a profound effect on my imagination just as it began to flourish and open out in my youth.

It forever changed the way I viewed science fiction and fantasy, and sword and sorcery epics as I'd loved them all as a young kid of the eighties.

Special Collection : UnSubbed Edition (Completed)
Time
dark jedi I love what you have done with this project so far, looks promissing. By the Way In what ways is the Japanese Special Collection Better than the definitive collection or the u.s. releases with the subs removed that were taken from the special collection.

The Japanese Special collection is one of only a few star wars trilogy laserdisc releases I do not own yet.

Laserdisc collecting has become a very expensive hobby for the star wars collector.

One Laser set I'd love to see transfered is the german "Silver Screen Collection" Or the "French Coffret collector" from 1994 packaged with from star wars to jedi.
