I say forget the OOT on DVD, lets target HD-DVD/Blue Ray Now
Time
I don't care if its DVD OR HD i just want the original versions in watchable quality. I will not watch any of the prequels or special editions again they are pure shit and hype.

They are not the milestones that changed film history and sci fi forever like the 1977-1983 trilogy. Lucas is a real jerk for not releasing these classic
films in beautiful pristine anamorphic on DVD or having them restored so they can be watched on the big screen again someday.

He can spend all the time and money further tinkering with cgi to create a better yoda or jar jar, but i wont buy any of his later versions. I think he knows where the real fans will tell him to go stuff it.

Final Post. Ever. No more. & Something for you shitbrains to think about...
Time
my uncle is austistic and is not a troll on forums and a shithead who swears at everyone, so being autistic is both a learning disability and having trouble relating or socializing with others.

My uncle is a very hard worker and a nice guy, having autism does not make him less of a person he only learns more slowly.

one of my cousins has severe austism yet he is the best at math in his entire class so it cannot be all bad.

i think zigfried was using his disabilty as an excuse to violate forum rules and unspoken rules of etiquette (did i spell that right?) on a forum.

I think lots of people have learning disabilities and do not disclose the fact because of fear of being rejected.

The most important thing is to learn to live above said disabilties, and live without labeling oneself as this or that but just be yourself. and if anyone has a problem with that you can tell them to f off.

There are literally millions of people who have similar problems as ziegfried so he should not use that as his banner or emblem announcing it to the world, he should think of others and not be so self centered. everybody has problems and we each deal with them differently most people do silently as an internal struggle or physical. to me people who see a disability as a challenge rather than a disease to whimper to others about are the people i respect.

What is the most distressing aspect of the PT?
Time
that George Lucas thought it would be a good idea for the emperor palpatine to be anakin's father and Luke's grandfather, lol

Or that chewie and han were raised as brothers on the wookiee home world. lets be thanfull these concepts did not make it into the movie proper although they were in earlier scripts as evidenced by the making of star wars revenge of the sith book by rinzler.

also Lucas ex Marcia was his best collaborator and someone who kept him grounded and added a warmth and human element to his films that was not there without her. She was literally the most talented editor hollywood ever had and the fact that she left the business is a great loss.
Even spielberg has said that marcia was a better editor than even verna fields.

she was literally in a creative aspect george's other half so he is now half what he was when he was with her.

her importance to the early days of lucasfilm is covered in depth in pollock dales biography of lucas skywalking and is notisably absent from lucas sanctioned apologist pieces.

It also covers the fights and competition lucas had with coppola which lucas denies really happened. Francis is like the older brother George never had, even he says so, so there were bound to be dissagreements which made both of there films better.

one of the thing people hardly ever talk about or consider is the imcompability in tone of both trilogys becuase an older george is different than his younger self. when one ages decades they are not the same person it is the same with authors of novels as with filmakers.

ReBoot's coming back
Time
so one of those fanfilms on that site will eventually be chosen as the pitch for a new series?

there are 5 in all. only one will be chosen

is it not kind of a joke to get 5 cheap made fan films by fans kinda a free way to get five pilots made?

lets not spend money on creative individuals or writers lets let people with no experience in the business of entertainment or animation decide, lol

Blade Runner 2, 4, and 5-disc sets in December
Time
is all the criterion material carried over?

the workprint only comes in the limited 5 disc briefcase right?

criterion had a cyberpunk documentary years ago on laserdisc i'm surprised that is not here in this set.

Blade Runner was an important film as far as cyberpunk science fiction is concerned since it not only inspired directors in the u.s., but france, germany, and japan. there are a lot of anime heavily influenced by it like akira, ghost in the shell. and armitage III as well as the animatrix and matrix films. and films like dark city and the 13th floor.

I'm glad the author of future noir is included in the commentary, what a great book that it. the original novel do androids dream of electric sheep is also a classic. the so called un-athorized sequel since Phillip K Dick was dead was written as Blade Runner II.
The rumored planned movie sequel and tv series never happened and thank god for that.

the main reason i have always loved this film since i was a kid was how stylized it was, but most importantly it had Harrison Ford in it, who i had liked as child as the character actor for Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

zigfried accusing everyone on these forums of having shit for brains is like calling the kettle black.

i mean coming on these forums begging for bootlegs of the 2006 gout, or the versions of thief and the cobbler that can be obtained legally?

what a asshole, he comes here breaks the rules and thinks we shoud give him a cookie or something.

maybe in a few years he will grow up and apologize for his behavior, but i'm not holding my breath or waiting for hell to freeze over.

do you guys like j.m.s. take on the amazing spider-man . I like how he returned spidey to the Black Suit and made it very dark post civil war.

Spider-man is not a sissy like he was in the film spider-man 2, he generally is vicious and kicks some serious ass.

Its all that dark angst without the venom symbiote, reminds you of black venom spide-man from spider-man 3

two of the modern trilogy's that were decent but not great were the comics movie series spider-man and x-men.

both the 3rd film in the x-men franchise and spider-man series were not as good as the first two films.

some of the greatest comic book movies ever are the crow, the first batman and batman begins, as well as the first superman movie. falling just slighly below them are spider man 1 and 2 and x-men 1 and 2.

i also liked the original noirish batman the animated series, and the animated movie mask of the phantasm.

I'm not really a fan of batman beyond but mark hamill's voice acting is nothing short of brilliant in return of the joker.

2007 Star Wars DVD Collection Release
Time
7/12/07

"Okay... we've checked with 20th Century Fox on that EzyDVD Star Wars: The Ultimate Collection we mentioned yesterday. Turns out it's exactly what we thought it was. This is NOT the super-ultimate box set we've all been hoping for, just a retailer assembled bundle of all of the previously released DVDs sets. The retailer's page has since been updated with pictures of the discs to clarify this. So that settles that."

quoted from the digitalbits website.

the bits on young indy

"Finally today, there's interesting Indy and Star Wars news: At the Star Wars Celebration event in Europe this past weekend, George Lucas' longtime producer, Rick McCallum, spilled the beans on some interesting release plans at Lucasfilm. It seems that the first of several volumes of Young Indiana Jones episodes will finally be released on DVD on 10/13. According to this link at the official Star Wars blog, the first batch of discs will street in October, followed by another in January and one more right after the theatrical release of Indy IV."

Possible last chapter for Harry Potter Book 7 (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
Time
i think J.K. Rowling did a very brave thing by having a happy ending because all of the negative backlash and flak she is going to get over it.

still i wonder that in a post 911 world people can except the good guys winning and happy endings.

The cynics in the media, namely adults who were routing for harry to be killed and the craze die out are morons.

I have not read the whole book yet, still i must congratulate her on her choice. I refuse to buy any more Legacy of the Force books because they killed Mara Jade Skywalker, and then the darker yet crappier trilogy of prequels where there is no real hero.

Lassiter kills Disney's direct to DVD sequels
Time
yeah because the world definetely needs a toy story 3 planned to be made in 2010, lol

thats is about as pathetic as dreamworks doing shreks four and five. non necessary sequels will continue to be made as long as they make money count on it.

thank god miyazaki came out of retirement, i'm looking forward to his next films.

Do we really need a cars 2 either, pitiful.

I hate all american kiddie animation crap form pixar and disney as much as i hate pokemon. with the possible exceptions of the first toy story, and the incredibles. or films like wallace and gromit, or chicken run, or iron giant.

not only has 3D graphics and Cgi all but killed films, it is the death of traditional animation as we know it.

and while certain films like those i listed above can be done well with cgi it is not art in the same way traditional animation and film was, and really should be used as a tool to enhance traditional animation rather than replace it.

By the way his name is John Lasseter, and if it was not for him we probably would not be enjoying the genius of studio ghibli in the unites states on dvd.

And other than chicken little, all other disney films have been failures in terms of box office except for pirates of the caribbean amd that is live action. Disney made all there money in recent years off of the right to license ghibli films here in the states, as well as being the release studio on several of pixars films until steve jobs sold pixar to disney.

I think the direct to video market sequels was a thing possibly spurred forward by axed former ceo michael eisner. I think the direct to video sequels since the quality of the animation was not as good and were cheaply made, but still made money allowed disney to stay in business for several years. while they were losing in competition to studios such as dreamworks, and pixar. many of the empolyees of both pixar and dreamworks animation formerly worked for disney. Some of the animators even were appropriated for Lucasfilm projects.

It gets even stranger because Lasseter was formerly an employee of disney who left to make the brave little toaster and ended up working for ilm and eventually became of member of lucas pixar computer division. He then along with his entire creative team was a part of the deal to sell pixar to steve jobs, and now he and all his guys working under him have been sold off to disney. so he returns to his roots.

Indiana Jones IV
Time
i like the new video that was just put up on the site in what appears to be indy getting caught by the russians.

it's so cool seeing harison wearing that fedora again.

there were some funny pictures of Indy put up on another site riding a motorcycle with shia labouf who is a greaser with a ducktail, lol

i just hope what they said on access hollywood the other day is not true that a sequel trilogy will be made featuring shia as the new adventurer.

If that story was true lucas is a liar once again, because he said indy IV was the last one.

if the indiana jones sequel series with shia goes forward who wants to bet star wars sequels are not far behind.

jj. better get trek 11 right, or he may never direct another movie in hollywood again. he's lucky the studio blamed tom cruise and not him for the failure of MI:III.

i have serious doubts since the screenwriter of 11 wrote the transfomers live action script, and i am anything but happy about that movie as a G1 fan except for peter cullen's voice.

The later seasons of lost are drivel, and carry on unesscessary cliches and plots just like the later seasons of alias.

"Troy" Re-Cut (Released)
Time
yeah except this tird of a movie has very little to do with the great greak epic/tradgedy of the iliad by the great bard homer.

the movie is so bad that one could not even reconstruct the original by homer even with a fan edit.

the fact that they cast brad pitt as achilles shows just how out of touch with the original material they are, achilles was a tragic hero with depth to his character not a greek era rambo.

the even funnier thing is wolfgang peterson was once thought of as a great director, then he produces shit like this.

das boot and neverending story are good movies, perfect storm and troy complete and utter pieces of crap.
