The Music of Star Wars: 30 Anniversary Collection
Time
looks to me because it is 8 discs that it will be the generic packaging of the sony 2 disc editions of the se trilogy 2004 release, as well as the single disc editions of the prequels.

if it was to include the doubled disc phantom menace it would be 9 discs.

they are so stupid not to release the 2 disc editions of attack of the clones and revenge of the sith.

even though John Williams is my favorite composer i will not be buying this box set unless it has bonus extras like the John Williams radio interviews.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?
Time
the studios are driven by what they always have been greed.

i'm surprised lucas is not trying to capitilize on the situation by having star wars on both formats since he had star wars on betamax, laserdisc, vhs, ced, and vhd back in the day.

well even paramount outdid him there they had star trek on the cdi video format, and on hi8 videotape, lol.

HVD is supposed to come out by the year 2010, or holographic versatile disc. fits terrabytes of data, LOL

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?
Time
no one in my family makes close to even 40k per year and the last crt i bought for under a couple hundred.

2000 dollars is still way to much money to spend if you have to buy food and pay your rent, LOL.

to me either it has to cost me under a thousand bucks or if i save up money no more than 1,500 for both the player the Tv and the audio setup. whcih means i'm waiting at least 2 years until the 1080P tvs come down in price.

the cheapest setup i've priced with the help of gamepro magazine is a pS3 and HDTV combo together for 1,500.

Better start saving up, LOL

my bros friend got a dislay unit sony wega 1080P at costco for only 600 bucks but of course he had to know somebody who worked there.

Star Wars: REBORN - The Complete Saga (* unfinished project *)
Time
my favorite is the trailer for jedi which you made, i could not watch empire since for some reason it skips and slows of youtube.

star wars was the least favorite of all the trailers i watched, maybe because too much prequel footage or because i hate episode 1 and 2 and can actually tolerate portions of rots, who knows, LOL

i will say my favorite star wars movie is of course star wars 77 or episode IV for the latecomers.

Empire is heads above all three films a much more epic and adult film though less fun than star wars and jedi in some parts, but it does actually make you think like good movies should.

jedi is the worst of all three movies even though it was my fave as a kid some parts are just rediculous to me like han solo's character pretty much standing around and being useless the whole time to the story. the motifs which seem to developed upon the best is the story of luke, though could have been done better. the worst and most irritating things are the ewoks this is star wars not care bears, LOL

of all the prequels i felt episode one could have been done better if it was much more expanded and anakin's character is developed. you jump from episode one to II without seeing him grow up and mature you don't know what happens to him at least 10 years worth of what happened in the story goes unexplained. i do not take the clone wars cartoon, bad videogames, or novels or comics as the caanon version of what happened since it is not lucas story. as for episodes II and III i always felt both films could be edited into a single 3 hours plus movie.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?
Time
they really have to lower the players prices, and the cost of the movies as well as the costs of HDTV sets or it will end up being a niche market like laserdisc was, while vhs was the mainstream. instead of vhs dvd will be mainstream for instance when put up against the HD stuff.

i think HD is the wave of the future but the companies greed and lack of intelligence may kill both formats.

Plus a lot of people are happy with quality that is not even up to par with dvd, people who download shit quality avi or whatever formats to there ipod or psp.

to get the most out of the picture and sound of HD-DVD or Blu-Ray you have to be xtremeley wealthy and have a setup that displays six times the resolution of dvd and 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 audio home audio setup.

once they come out with cheap recordable blu ray or HD-DVD drives and afforbable 1080P computer monitors i'll go HD, until then i can live with what i have.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?
Time
because paramount exclusively promotes HD-DVD does that mean indiana jones we be on that format?

does the fact that fox backs blu ray mean star wars for blu ray?

paramount could have done a lot of damage to blu ray in november or october of this year with the release of star trek only on HD-DVD. problem is they got greedy on the price, no one except for very rich trekkies will pay over 200 dollars for one seasons worth of a tv show even if it is trek remastered in 1080P with never before seen behind the scenes footage.

the price for the heroes season one set in comparison while not cheap is fair considering the extras and exclusivetey to HD-DVD.

Who got their membership pkg and "letter" from George Lucas?
Time
that is not necessarily true because blu ray and HD-DVD can offer bonus materials traditional dvd's can't.

Like picture in picture commentaries on the HD-dvd of heroes and star trek remastered.

I know quite a number of people who will be buying the HD-DVD version of heroes over the traditional dvd set because it is the decked out version.

The biggest roadblock i see for either of the two competing HD formats is earlier and classic movies needing to be scanned at HD resolutions and have cleaned up prints or go back to the camera o-negs.

The only viable films I see at the moment would be the recent lowry/dts digital 4k scan of the bond movies that is only on dvd, the 2k scan they did of both the indiana jones movies and the 2004 edition of star wars trilogy.

X-men 1 and 2 the only good ones are not on HD-DVD or blu ray and the lame part III is.

we are getting close encounters and blade runner on the HD spec, and dick donners original superman is on HD as well, though it may be the 2000 cut.

because of the lawsuit of Peter Jackson and weta vs new line we will not see those movies on HD anytime soon. new line broke the profit sharing agreement, and peter will block them from releasing the films on HD in 2008 or 2009 with an injunction because they at weta still have yet to recieve there monies from lotr.

also because of the greedy suits at new line peter's hobbit movie will never see the light of day. The morons are going to do it with an entire new cast and trying to get sam raimi to direct it. Ian Mckellen said hewould only be in the film with a proviso that p.j. directs it.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?
Time
well if that hybrid player comes out that can playback HD-DVD's exlusive bonus material features as well as blu ray is not the whole format war a joke?

though i do favor blu ray for it's technical aspects and amount of data space HD-DVD is cheaper and more user friendly and allows use of imported titles and does not have the high end encryption.

should hacks crack blu ray like they did dvd, then i can watch region 2 japan titles on blu ray but until that happens i'm sticking with dvd

Plus right now HD-DVD is getting heroes and star trek exlusively, that should boost sales if it was not for greedy paramount charging over 200.00 for the first season of trek remastered

you can buy the animated return of the king in the store why would you want to steal from the creators downloading a torrent since that way they get no royalties.

I still believe torrents should be for only things as preservations, fan edits or things not officially available.

you can get all three animated hobbit films in a warner box set for like 40 bucks or something. it includes bakshi's film of lord of the rings, the hobbit by rankinbass and return of the king by same people.

That being the case they are all bare bones and even single layer dvd except for the dl of lord of the rings which is also widescreen. none of them are remastered in any way but they do look better on dvd than they did on vhs, also they are only in mono sound and no stereo versions.

it is very dissapointing to say the least that they could not get ralph bakshi to do a commentary on his lotr, or have peter s. beagle do one as well. they could of had a isolated score of the remastered soundtrack, and tack on some of the deleted scenes and or storyboards that are in mr bakshi's posession. which he has been selling on ebay so now they are scattered all over the world.

I say forget the OOT on DVD, lets target HD-DVD/Blue Ray Now
Time
somehow i'm not all that affraid for sony's ps3 since they have exclusive rights to final fantasy XIII and metal gear guns of the patriots, as well as about another hundred or so games on the way according to gamepro magazine.

ps3 will pick up steam next year, and even more so the year after that.

i could care less about nintendos rehash kidddie crap regardless how inventive the gameplay on the wii is, it will take the release of the first true wii zelda, metroid or mario galaxy to make me eat my words and those have all been deleyed and pushed back.

While i quite enjoy twilight princess that was developed originally for the gamecube so i think of it as a carryover.

the xbox 360 is either neck and neck with the wii or way out in front depending on who is reporting the sales figures.

The 360 has hundreds of games many of them excellent and some truly great one coming out like Halo 3, Fable 2, blue dragon from the creator of final fantasy and designed by dragonball creator and artist.

GTA 4 is no longer a exclusive title to either ps3 or 360, neither is the force unleashed. one thing i wanted to buy a 360 and is not even in development is kotor 3.

if 20th century fox is able to get lucas to release star wars exclusively to blu ray then HD-DVD will be crushed. But HD-DVD has heroes right now as exlusive HD, as well as trek tos cgi though the srp on the first box set of that is 219.12 or some absurd price for 10 discs.
