I just wanted to point out how Lucas is lazy about the Continuity of his own work.

When Bantam Books, and Del Rey, as well as Dark Horse Comics under the Lucas Licensed Publishing Program at least up until Episode 1 strived hard to do in the EU and did it very well.  They were Continuity buffs.

The original trilogy and prequels don't mesh well because Lucas went back and changed story points and Character interactions and so forth that were not Alluded to in the scripts or the oot. 

Yoda was Supposed to Be Kenobi's master.  You had to be a Jedi Master to train A jedi Knight.  This whole padawaan thing  is rediculous as well as the midiclorians. 

You now only have to be Knighted to have an apprentice completely wrong in reference to the oot.  Anakin was barely knighted when he went down the dark path there is no way he would be a master.

To Top it all off the Biggest and most laughable thing ever is that the Emperor Created the Rebellion.  THe Biggest What the Fuck moment in star wars history.  I wish i could take a time machine back to 1977 or 1980 and tell them that the emperor Created the rebellion.  WTF?  is what they would say.  Come again get the fuck outta here you are fucking kidding me.

Seriously now i want to read the making of book just to figure out how they came up with this ludicrous plot.  I mean it is along the lines of the Silly Politics in the prequels.   That this is Lucas canon as a missing chapter in between Episodes III and IV is hard to believe.  But then again Lucas lives in Bizarro world where the 2004 dvd set is perfect and the gout is the best he can do for fans of the oot.

I mean Seriously watch Clone Wars 2008 movie, Indiana Jones Kotcs and read the plot for force unleashed and play the game.  A  Teenager in high school could come up with a better story than that.  No Scratch that i could have written a better story in grade school using crayons, george lucas is crazy if he thinks this is good storytelling.

Complete Lack of Imagination ON LUCARTS and Lucas part.  Cliches, rehashed plots.  This is the Kinda Bad Star Trek became when it was overly merchandised and milked for every last ounce of anything resemlbing originality.

Lucas should have quit after Return of the Jedi in 1983, end of story.  I could care less that i am attaking the godhood of the tfn crowd saga fans, they will call blaphemy on my point of view.

The Last good thing to come out of the Star Wars universe was the Zahn Trilogy and Kotor game.  But if i had to give those up to be spared the prequels and special editions and further ruining of the EU by Lucash i would gladly do so.

So Basically this thing is not even in Continuity with Revenge of the Sith and Completely ruins the original trilogy.

Much like the Clone Wars movie shows Anakin having a pawaan when he never was intended to have one, until Lucas changed his mind when Revenge of the Sith was several years behind him.

Okay on to the Force Unleashed Bashing. Vader and Palpatine Create the Rebellion to ensnare Bail Organa and Mon Mothma.  LOL.  Just like Sidious created the fake seperatist movement.

Okay Padme created the Rebellion in the deleted scenes of Revenge of the Sith. 

And the secret apprentice never was secret it was palps idea to use him to ensnare the rebels.

Vader says something to him like i intend to throw down the emperor with my apprentice but he is not you.  Which Implies that at this point he knew he had a son, and this is two years before the battle of yavin.  SO did he know Luke was on Tatooine?

I noticed a lot of people download illegal rips of blu rays to watch on their computer but don't buy them in stores.  Great for capitliism that (sarcasm), stealing and not actually paying into the industry and economy because they either hate sony or just feel they deserve things free.

Most Blu Ray disc titles are extremely affordable.  It is the players that are not coming down in price quick enough.  The only blu ray titles that are expensive are japan imports, anime from bandai, or Studios that sell boxsets or people like Paramount who like to gouge price.

That thread lordjedi linked to is obviously the support of HD-DVD camp.  Comparing blu ray to laserdisc could not be more inaccurate.  HD-DVD is more like Laserdisc because it is also a dead format.  The only accurate statement would be that blu supports lossless PCM just like laserdisc.  Buying Laserdisc players and keeping them in working order and buying laserdiscs is still more expensive than buying into blu ray, i would hate to burst the bubble of unreality these people seem to have.

They are offering these players for very expensive technology at next to nothing in todays dollars of inflation.  X-box 360 and PS3 can't be given out any cheaper they are already losing money on the machines for charging less than the parts and labor they cost to make.   Well actually that is true of the ps3 and not for microsoft 360, because The Xbox uses standard DVD technology with upscaling on HDTV sets. Unless the upscaling makes the system so much more which i doubt.

Apparently Americans want something for free yesterday,lol.  And now their excuse is that bush devalued the american dollar and wrecked the economy.

I have heard of a 3 reeler as i gained info from the super8mm forum from a company named LA Films that was an hour long condensed cinemascope version.  also there is the Derann 6 reeler, this cannot be either.  Weird.

The funny thing is i read an article from 1990 where Lucas says the color of his films aka the star wars trilogy color will remain perfect  because as he claims they were done up as 3 strip technicolor seperation master negatives.  If he thought the colors where perfect in 1990 why did he change them in 2004?

I read one review where the reviewer thought Ahsoka was flirting with Anakin.  I don't think she was ever considered as a love interest.  I mean Anakin's Already Illicitly married to Senator Padme of Naboo, why would he go out with a 13 year old.  Geez unless George Lucas wanted Anakin as a pedophile which i seriously doubt despite his Stalker stare in the scene at the end  of return of the jedi,lol.

Just because a movie does not have an episode number does not make it a better film or suck any less.  Crystal Skull for instance, lol.

Star Wars was largely inspired by and was always intended to be a throw back to the 1930's and 40's Sci Fi serials like Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers.  Lucas watched these as a kid on adeventure theater on Kron-TV.  They were the edited down feature versions though.  He later saw the uncut Serial cliffhangers and then He preferred them in that format.

Lucas was a Huge Fan of the Genre.  He read all and collected all the ec books by Al williamson and frank frazetta growing up.  Later when he got rich in the eighties he purchased Alex Raymonds Flash Gordon Original Artwork from Russ Cochran.  Supposedly one of the pieces he purchased and Hung on his wall was 50 thousand dollars. I bet you anything if lucas still has it it is worth several times that now.

The Kurosawa Influence was there early on but largely because Lucas was thumbing through a book Written by his fiend Michael Richie which had a summary of The Hidden Fortress.   His 1973 treatment is almost word for word the same as Richies,lol.

Kurosawa Intrestingly enough consciously modeled himself and his Films After John Ford  director of westerns.

Lucas would later watch Fords films as an influence on the first star wars movie but originally experienced his vision filtered through the  director Kurosawa.

Well there were some fanedits and preservations FanFiltration was planning none were ever finalized or released.  I personally would love to Have his Forgotten Thunderball disc right next to my trio of his criterion bond discs.

I personally would like to see some fanedits made of the Videogames especially everything or nothing which has Brosnan's voice as bond, dench as M, and Clease as Q. and Heidi Klum as a baddie, bond girl.

It would also be hilarious to see Connery's final turn as bond In From Russia with Love the Videogame as a movie.  Never say never again indeed, lol.

I'm Hoping the new Bond game gets Daniel Craig's voice and Likeness but probalbly not.

That would make zero sense since 20th Century Fox was a Blu Ray supporter.  What makes you think Lucas would choose a already backwards and obsolete technology when he could support Blu which had more drm to protect his movies.

I believe That the Clone Wars movie may well be the first star wars title on Blu Ray.  We already know the first Lucasfilm title on Blu is going to be Indiana Jones IV.  But i would just a soon spend my money on The Dark Knight Blu Ray if i was a blu ray person.

Maybe it was a deliberate creative decision,lol.

Anyway So that would not be the first time people have messed up the saber colors.  The Revenge of the Jedi Teaser poster by Drew Struzan had vader holding a blue saber and Luke a red. He can hardly be blaimed that all ILM gave him were black and white stills from empire strikes back. Still had he even done his research on the first movie where Kenobi has a blue sword and Vader a Red he might have not made the blunder.

Had the videocasette come out at this point in time when he sketched the poster i do not know.  Maybe in late 1982 tape players were expensive or something.  And Star Wars was only out as a rental only tape.

Since i have not played the Full Force Unleashed game maybe those scenes were flashback scenes when he was a good guy before being taken on as vaders apprentice after vader killed his father.  I don't know if when he was a boy and a jedi padawan having a blue saber would make sense.  But if it is when he is older working for vader it makes little sense.  Unless he is doing a contract killing or something and wants it pinned on the Jedi only sith use red sabers.  Maybe a red saber would draw suspicion on Vader. Only Vader and the Emperor are the Sith left alive in the universe.

So i pop the first disk into my dvd player and i was suprised by the quality of the presentation of these discs.  The look professionally done.  Animated menus just wow.  And the documentaries mastered from the japan laserdiscs are near dvd quality.

Some rare tv spots for empire and jedi those were really cool.

The only trailer on the discs in shit quality is the one with the Vivaldi temp track music, which i actually already found better divx copies of on T’bones site and just assumed were done by the editdroid team.

So the best quality trailers were actually sourced from the 2004 trilogy bonus disc.  The colors are all wrong these are the faded prints they transfered and had van ling clean up digitally.  The digital scrub job and recoloring are very apparent.  Maybe Next time they should spend the money to actually photochemically restore the film.  But why am i harping on them not restoring trailers When they did a half ass restoration in 1997 and added bad cgi and no real restoration to this day of the original movies.

A very good reason why i have seen the 2004 cut of empire only once.  Awful redub of boba's voice, the new bad cgi emperor and bad vader dialogue.  I don't like the 1997 version either but at least that kept Wingreens voice as boba, and The more mysterius Emperor Voiced by Clive Revill who ive always liked better than the comic book esque villain of jedi.

I asolutely also hate The 2004 jedi Hayden in the jedi ghost trio and Jar Jar binks "weesa free", god somebody should have told Lucas those were terrible ideas.

I mean seriously what is the budget for this show?  Bargain Basement Dvd and vhs Like the Unauthorized star wars story, and the stars of star wars were able to get Hamill and Ford.

Even the god awful 1978 Star Wars holiday special cost a Million Dollars to make.  I doubt this show costs that, lol.

People seem to be angry and frustrated because the X0 Project site has not had any real updates since 2005, or 2006.  Most of the articles there date to 2005.  It happends to Be Now September 2008, and we are going on to the year 2009 and no X0.

Still that being said i think Laserman's heath is more important than this project ever could be.

Was not this project really just 3 dedicated guys who loved the films and did this as a hobby outside of their busy job and family lives, This is not their job.

Lucas is the real villain here.  He is a billionaire and won't pay for a real restoration of the real movies.  He only wants the special editions available in watchable quality.

You know what is so pathetic about this whole thing is it makes the Clone Wars movie look like a work of art.

Not having Mark and Harrison is stupid they are the real stars of star wars.

As a big Mark Hamill fan i will not watch this show.

I watched some of the afi thing but i could not finish the whole thing absolute Pukas apologist peice of trash.  These are the guys that Lucas would not allow to show the original versions of star wars and empire that are on their list.  They rolled over and played dead and might as well have sucked his you know what. boooo!

That and the Empire of Dreams rewriting of History makes me want to puke and not be a star wars fan.

Thankfully Jambe has produced real documentaries on the making of the films.

I remember hearing that Mark Hamill won't be on this show because they cannot pay his appearance fee.

Supposedly the dude behind the show wrote up on his blog about Mark being a has been actor and greedy.

I also read they want actors to go on the show for free.  LOl good luck in that.

Plus since this is unofficial without Lucas consent i think Mark wants to be remain in Uncle George's good graces by declining to appear unless paid a considerable fee.  Carrie on the other hand they probably won't have a hard time getting.  Harrison won't do it period unless he is piad three times what they would have paid hamill.

They will probably get dave prowse, jeremy bulloch, and peter mayhew, and kenny baker.

Star Wars to me is the trio of Mark, Harrison, and Carrie.  IF they cannot do that then this whole affair is pointless to me.  The only reunion picture i have seen is a fake photoshop job of all the actors shot seperately.

And if they bring any of the prequel actors consider me a million miles away from this crap.  Though i'm sure Hayden would not be hard to get since he'll be lucky to get another acting job in hollywood ever again after Revenge of the Sith and Jumper, and Attack of the Clones.  Natalie won't do it unless the money for it would go to charity probably, and Ewan probably won't want to do it just because he hates the prequels.  Sam Jackson whos Street Cred is absolutely destroyed would have no problem being on it.

You know i would not mind somebody doing a preservation of the restored turrner colorized Kong Laserdisc, or the errol flynn films the sea hawk and captain blood also colorized by Turner and only released on vhs.

I heard or read somewhere about the dodgy qualtiy of the colorized Kong on that Uk box set.  Apparently taken from an nstc vhs master and sped up to pal speed.

There has been a recent revival in the Colorization Of films especially undertaken by Ray Harryhausen for the films he worked on.  I read a positive review on the Colorization of the Movie She based on the book by H Rider haggard.

Also there is a fan group called Serial Sqaudron who have added color tints to serials Like Flash Gordon, and The Hidden Empire.

You Have liberals using Eisenhower's "beware of the military industrial complex"  like it is their own and he was a Republican.  Though They use that famous speech now to refer to Bush and say today Eisenhower would be a liberal.

Chrono Trigger is getting a re-release on the Nintendo DS.  As far as the screenshots i have seen it is a direct port no graphical or sound upgrades.  Supposedly there is a new Dungeon bonus level, Not sure what they are going to use the stylus for.  Plus i would not be suprised if the game got a beastiary like the final fantasy games.

Now then real question is will it be a new japanese to english translation more faithful than the original release, or have the slowdown problem Prevalent in the US PS1 port uprade unlike the Japan release.

The US release of final fantasy VI (aka III on the snes) on the PS1 also had bad slowdown.  2 good reasons to own a snes, A third would be because it had secret of mana which has never been re-released.

The third part in the Chrono Trilogy will probably now never be made since Sakaguchi left SquareEnix.  He has said Blue Dragon is what he wanted Crono Trigger 3 to be.  That game is not even as good as Chrono Cross which sucks unlike the first installment, Trigger which was awesome mix of both sci fi and fantasy.

Well your right on the mark there.  Indiana Jones IV was nothing but a turkey with lots of cgi gravy.

Somebody said he has not made a good movie since the Last Crusade, and i Agree totally.

Revenge and Jones 4 might be the best of the turkeys but they are still turkeys.

I could never sit through watching the prequels or the 2004 special editions again because they are just so awfully bad.  I'll give Indy 4 its single view on dvd since i already saw it in theaters, and probably throw the dvd in the trash, sell it or give it away.
