I actually had a very good friend who liked the book Battlefield Earth, but didn't like any of the Scientolo-gibberish. I remember him talking about it a few years ago, before I knew anything about that crazy cult. I think I had read an article in Rolling Stone tho, about one woman's nightmare at getting out of it. It's hard to understand from the outside how bad it could be, but since more people have gotten their stories out there, well, the stories are out there. It seems they are trying to turn out people who have no consciences. Either you pay out the money to have yourself brainwashed into subservience, or if you leave they hold anything that would make you embarrassed or guilty against you. So, what..someone is either deemed not good enough for their "system" because they have their own morality of "right and wrong", OR you ascend higher doing whatever the bleep you want. The second choice sounds dangerous to me. The epitome of self-centeredness = no love.

I work at Rasputin's Music in Berkeley, CA. I think I may have met someone from the boards the other day while working. I talked with someone when they bought three different versions of Roger Rabbit. LD, VHS, and DVD. I then said that George Lucas was my enemy for not releasing the Star Wars trilogy, and he directed me to ot.com (which I've been a part of for a while now). Ring any bells, anyone? Anyway, I'm glad you guys are doing these restoration projects. If the studios refuse to release the movies in their true and complete, original, or best form, the fans are the only hope for film lovers. You'd think not releasing stuff goes against a positive business model for the businesses they're in. Evidently they should be in another business.

I read about this 'silent birth' crap yesterday. Katie Holmes is an idiot for agreeing to take part in these rules for childbirth.
I cannot believe that this so-called religion has so much sway that they have not completely brought on their own demise the world over. IT IS CRAZY. What a dumb belief system.
Matt and Trey seem to be the only people at Viacom with any balls. Too bad they can't make an episode about how much MTv has sucked and continues to get suckier every moment it remains airing. Why does Viacom air crap that nobody but morons want to watch? I think Viacom and Scientology are two amongst the greatest evils in America and the world at large. **** both of them. They need to be obliterated.
I've never been a fan of Tom Cruise's per se, but I didn't dislike him either, I guess. From now on though, I am going to actively avoid anything he or Katie Holmes has to do with. He is nuttier than a walnut orchard at harvest time.

I really hate the fact that the net is overrun with SE and PT fans. The PT fans don't piss me off as much as the SE ones do. I agree with their existence, it's just the fact that they have to worm their way in EVERYWHERE and then they have the balls to WHINE (they think they aren't?) about old schoolers whining for "their precious O-OT". Yeah, I really hate those kind. They need to give some room.

MJ is quite the interesting figure to observe. I was in kindergarten when Thriller was popular. The guy was so idolized, but actually seemed the epitome of cool when I was a kid, and to see the utter transformation the nutjob has made has been hilarious, and kind of unimaginable if you think of how he was at the outset. That is a guy who has made a complete meltdown right in front of the public. He's one of the strangest people I've ever heard of...not in a good way.

I understand how you feel, I think, ric. I hate flying. So far it hasn't actually kept me out of the air...in fact I have to fly in the morning. I'm not so scared today tho, I don't know why. I hope you are able to find a way to deal with it. I feel like I may just have to live with my feeling. Maybe next time I will get me some nice drugs for it, lol.
