Should there be an ULTIMATE EDITION!
Time
There may as well be an ultimate edition. There're already around 5 billion versions out there, official and non-official.
How can people be expected to keep up with ever changing films? And when they are expectedly changed, (as Star Wars movies have come to be known in the past decade) how can one say they like the movies themselves? They are changed too often. The new version ISN'T the old version. People like something, it's changed, then the newer version is liked, forget the older one.
Let's have the Ultimate Gradiose Incredible 3-D Expanded Penultimate No Holds Barred Bodacious Radical Awesome Blow Your Mind Bootylicious Paradigm Shift Rewire Your Senses Squeeze You Out of Your Mother's Womb Like Totally Again edition.
Star Wars, O Star Wars, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Around 5 billion or so.

Oh, and Je, I would like to say welcome too. I don't mean any of that persoanlly. I get tired of hearing about the movies being marred is all. GL did the marring himself. Not the fans.

Dont give up being a fan
Time
I have the impression that a lot of OOT Star Wars fans are so passionate and state their opinions plainly because of the very fact that they do care so much for Star Wars. We criticize because we care. If we didn't, we wouldn't be bothering.
I'll always be a fan, and I in no way plan to shut up about the bad way the movies have been treated for the last several years. To me, these are the greatest movies ever made, and as popular as they have been since their inception it is ludicrous the way they are being swept under the rug and fucked with.

Just Saw The Unaltered Trilogy For The First Time...
Time
I was so ready to see the SEs when they came to theaters. I was almost 20 at the time. So, I kinda missed out on Star Wars when it first came out, but had been fortunate enough to be taken to see Empire (very little recall on this one) and Jedi when I was young. I think the effect the SEs had on me were almost like seeing the PT. Except the SEs didn't seem quite so bad at the time. Who knew Lucas was going to shortly seal the fate of the OT? But basically me and my friends nearly pissed ourselves with excitement at seeing the SEs since we'd missed Star Wars the first time around. I watched each one at least 5 times in the theater. It was a great time.

Are you gonna buy 'em?
Time
I feel undecided, but I know I'll end up buying it. Lucas can't be trusted. He says that this will be the only time it's available...but there's no way to know whether that's the truth or not. Better use the $60 (or however much it will cost) to go ahead and get it. DAMN, I hate this shit!
I'm just looking forward to the awesome preservations that will come out of it.

Lucasfilm lunch hour
Time
I really wanna boycott all things Lucas at this point, but I can see a slight positive to purchasing the sets as well. And this is funny too. If it is a case where they have 2004 editions that they need to get rid of, and part of this is a repackaging thing, then it will be hilarious if people send the 04 discs back. Lucas sells them, and gets them back. He STILL can't get rid of them! Anyway, in my mind, since I'm so pissed off about the whole thing I'll just happily imagine George sitting on a mountainous pile of SE dvds that he can't get rid of for the life of him. I'm talking Uncle Scrooge McDuck style sitting on his piles of gold in his vault. Lucas can sit his ass down on piles of shitty 'special motherfucking editions'.

The Official Lucasfilm Response
Time
George Lucas obviously doesn't have any problem taking money from people, but I think he ACTUALLY has fooled himself into thinking the SEs are better, plus it's PRIDE. Fuck him. These movies WILL be saved. Just not by him.
I'm not even going to see Indiana Jones 4 at this rate. That is if it ever gets made. And I still have respect for Steven Spielberg. But I WILL NOT support George Lucas.
George Lucas wants to take his ball and go home? Then go home!

The Chronology of How My love for Lucas has fallen
Time
I was just at the Presidio today. Walked over to the Letterman Center, and the Lucasfilm offices. I was with a German friend, showing him around. Well, if you walk up to this one area you can look inside and see a statue of the guy who created King Kong, and other various Star Wars stuff inside, like a lifesize Darth Vader. I was content to just LOOK INSIDE. Well, my friend, not having any qualms just WALKS INSIDE. Yes, INSIDE Lucasfilm. I stepped through the door, but stopped right there, and the girl at the desk looks over. She didn't tell us to leave or anything, but I felt like I was Satan and had just darkened the doorway of a church or something, LOL. I turned around after 20 seconds or so to leave, and my friend followed me. OH MY GOSH, I can't beleive that happened. And I have been so mad the last week like everyone else here. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucas talks about the Sept 12th Release of the O-OT
Time
After what I've heard over the past few days I'm contemplating not buying the movies. I'm going to wait it out tho. I wish that Lucas will do the right thing by the films and do a decent job with it. If this happens I'll go ahead and buy the DVDs again. I will send everything back except for the extras discs. I'm liking the look of Coov's new covers. They kick the ass of the LFL ones. Also, I'm sure better fan versions will come about because of this release. Those will be the ones I'm truly interested in since it seems Lucas is trying to punk the fans yet again.

Should Lucus make 4,5 and 6 over?
Time

I think he should make them over. I love the originals but they just look to out of date. Especially IV ANH man it just looks to low budget but its still a good movie. If he does do them over he can really make them how he intended to. He can also add to the story or change little things. I don't think anyone would disagree with a lightsaber battle between the empire and vader at the end of VI ROTJ instead of him just throwing the emp down the drain like he wasn't nothing. I would pay to see that.

It's what he's been doing slowly for the past ten years. I'm sure they'll look much more different 15 years from now. Great work George, on your Star Wars film collage. It's so avant-garde.

New DVDs NOT 16x9
Time
I'm not buying this unless things change. When did Lucasfilm become the most retarded entertainment company on the planet? And it's not smart to hold these movies back, if that is what they are thinking.
I agree with what RATLSNAKE said.
And at this point, Star Trek is starting to sound like a very appealing franchise to me, even in the pathetic shape it's in now. Never liked Star Trek, and no offense to those here who are fans. Star Wars is so completely in bonkers-land now, I may jump ship for a lukewarm fandom aboard the USS Enterprise, LMAO.
