That's exactly why I made "Vader's Redemption."  As an alternative look at the saga as well as an experiment in film editing.  I perfer ROTJ just the way it is too.  I just assumed that by the title of this forum, "ESB and ROTJ Wishlist," we would all be allowed to express what we would put in if we were making fan edits.

I saw that edit and I think it works in context of viewing the films as a saga. Perfect for a "saga edition". But I wouldn't want to watch it that way all the time. Some times it's nice to just sit back and watch the OT and Luke's adventure. None of this "The story of Star Wars is the tragedy of Darth Vader".

But your edit was good and would work in a larger context.

It's akin to adding the Jappor snippet necklace Anakin made for Padme into the end of ROTJ.

On it's own it's a "WTF?" moment, but intergrated into a "saga edit", it would work.

The consensus is....

This is a beautiful shot.

All that could be done to make it better would be to add couple of bright orange Tibanna Gas Platforms in the foreground to help clutter the shot, a reference to the EU character Dash Rendar and maybe a space slug diving in and out of the clouds in the distance to offer a sense of foreboding.

:P

You mean like the flying spaniel in The Never Ending Story?

I like the disillusioned soldier.

I always imagined that Boba was wearing his own armour. After all, it's his size and everything.

The ESB novelisation says he's wearing the armour of a group of dark warriors that fought in the Clone Wars.

Well, so maybe Boba is the last of his group? He wears the armour out of his love for his vanished people.

I sometimes wondered if that armour wasn't clone wars-era stormtrooper armor.

It might have been fun to have still have him fall off the little bridge thing but into the bowels of the factory line and shut down the external defenses around the Seperatist conference allowing for Mace and the Other Jedi to land undetected (Obi-Wan and Padme land but they are detected straight away).

Good idea. No hanging onto the flying platform, no losing his head, and certainly no bad jokes to go along with it.

Monroville

When the dinosaurs in the first JURRASIC PARK can look damn near real and yet we still have $150 million + movies where the CGI stands out, you just have to wonder what the hell is going on in these FX houses.

Part of what is going on is the post-schedules have been cut almost in half on most movies, while the # of fx shots has doubled or tripled.

When JP came out, a "small show" for an fx house was under 100. Now a small show is under 500.

JP itself had around 60-75 CG animation shots of dinos.

The Lost World in '97 doubled that.

JP3 doubled TLW.

And on and on.

There's also the trend nowadays to farm out fx shows to numerous houses to get the job done.

So you can have on e big fx show being worked on by a handful of shops.

There's no guarantee that the quality is going to be consistent.

It's a rare thing today to have one big fx film being worked on by one house, the SW Prequels are some rare exceptions to today's norm.

Yes, yes. Make the Endor moon more exotic. As I suggested a few pages back, how about some immense trees that look impossibly large. Make it look like an enchanted forest.

Awesome mockup of the landing pad bingowings

What about playing with the idea that the empire is clearing the forest moon for eventual settlement and industrialisation.

Something akin to Miyazaki's Mononoke.

The ewoks resent this. They've lost traditional hunting and burial grounds to the development, and their numbers are dwindling.

Maybe take that mockup with the so. american falls and have half of it being cleared, especially around the landing platform.

Maybe some shots of clear cuts and stuff.
