It’s probably worth watching ‘Brick’ before viewing the videos below…

Star Wars News | articles that may not have enough interest for their own threads...
Time

yeah , I am hoping the Star Wars content they get around to streaming will have a blu ray release , personally , I think the streaming model is going to implode eventually , I mean , I already pay for cable , netflix and an internet connection and can’t afford any more . It seems like every big studio is starting up these streaming services now .

Agree about people being in the way. During rush hour it’s inevitable but there are the idiots constantly changing lanes and speeding up on top of people as if they are going to get to their destination much faster when they see traffic is jammed up to the horizon. In actuality they slow down everyone including their like-minded idiots.

and when I pull up next to those idiots , especially at traffic lights , I just turn my head towards them and flash them a big smile and laugh at them because they did not get there any faster than I did

Clone Wars Movie Series [Episodes I to V released; Episode IX: The Fallen Apprentice now Complete!]
Time

I just finished watching the vimeo version and it was fantastic ! It felt very much like a theatrical Star Wars movie . I watched the whole clone wars series as it originally was posted on the official site and this was one of my favorite arcs as well as the lost missions which got me to get a netflix subscription . I also recall , that the first few episodes introducing Savage Opress were edited together for a limited theatrical release
http://www.unboundworlds.com/2010/11/new-star-wars-clone-wars-villain-to-be-unveiled-savage-opress/ it was not in my town so this is the next best thing , probably even better . And this edit is VERY timely .

I don’t know what someone who only likes two of the movies is doing on a site called Original trilogy

I didn’t hate ROTJ when I created an account here; it’s a sentiment I came to gradually, and it solidified only in the last three years or so. Regardless, this isn’t an “OT fans only” site. There are — or at least have been — other “OD” fans like myself, and at least one SW '77 purist.

fair enough , what is your opinion on the rest of my post you initially responded to ?

I keep hearing the same RUMOR about Hayden . Where is it officially stated that he is coming back ?

I keep hearing JJ is going to tie the three trilogies together. That scares me. Im still irritated about the Darth Sidious reference in Last Jedi.

curious as to where you keep hearing this . Also , there seems to be a great division in all 3 trilogy fan bases , though I think we can all agree that the OT is universally loved by those here to varying degrees ( this site is called Original Trilogy after all ) though I think a lot of people see merit in the PT and ST to varying degrees , and have a desire to salvage them ,as evidenced by the many fan edits of them . I think the best thing for JJ and Co . would be to find that common ground and give us a story that balances all 3 trilogies .My bet is they title the movie either Balance Of The Force or The Unifying Force to bookend the trilogy . And yeah , those titles have been used elsewhere , but so has The Last Jedi.

Why?

Well why is what you’re doing instead better?

My short time as a step dad was the happiest time of my life, even if not nearly close to the most carefree time. God I miss having a family.

I was a stepdad once too , I completely understand how you feel , I feel the same way and wish I had been more mindful then and more attentive . It’s been ten years since my divorce and I still miss them .

remove cgi Grievous and all battle droids and replace a stop motion models

If the idea is to make it look more realistic, then you’ve failed miserably. Stopmotion is not reliable for realistic VFX. It has a certain charm, but realism is not its strong suit. Of course it can do realism on a hollywood budget, but given no one does it anymore, I suspect it’s become a lot more efficient to do with CGI, and the results are usually just as good.

I am sure this person loved hearing that he “failed miserably” at something he tried to express and share . sheesh ,some people around here have the manners of a goat.

“plus, Han said in the very same scene Luke deflected three blaster bolts that “good against the remote is one thing. good against the living, is something else”, to which no one replies anything contrary, meaning that everyone agrees with what he said.” …this argument does not hold up , just because someone does not speak to ignorance does not equate to agreement , as evidenced by Kenobi’s line later asking who is the more foolish , the fool , or the fool who follows him ?

Empire Strikes Back - The 70mm Edition (* unfinished project *)

Could the Blu-Ray also be used as a source? Some of the 70mm was used for the Special Editions.

I’m going to try to use the ‘Story of’ lp as much as I can for any alternate audio because it’s easier to isolate and EQ. I’ll probably have to use the SE track for a few things so that’ll require more editing.

First of all, there’s very little out there to suggest the differences in optical transitions or compositing have any truth to them. I have a feeling since we were working from word of mouth for so long that some misremembered facts just kept creeping in. So, don’t take everything on the wiki seriously; it’s based on much older info and a lot of it has been disproved in recent years. In my mind, we should only consider the changes that we have definitive proof of (the missing Falcon dish and the static Emperor).

I plan on using morgands1’s recording as a reference so I’m only going to add/remove things that are confirmed (audio, radar dish, hologram, rebel fleet etc).

looking forward to viewing the finished edit

That was entertaining and gave me a few laughs , and yeah , I dig that comic adaptation for the reasons they stated and more . Always loved the Ralph McQuarrie painting on the cover of the novel too . I consider the book to be like an alternate universe story . I also think The Empire Strikes Back is the first time Luke should ever meet Vader . The old Marvel comic had them meet up face to face before Empire as well , though the duel there was a force Illusion created by Vader so I give that one a slight pass . Then the current Marvel Star Wars has Luke fight Vader in the first story arc .Kind of diminishes the impact of the Bespin Duel in my opinion .Vader is a cool character and I like some of what they did in the first story arc of the Darth Vader comic , but I think they over use him .Archie Goodwin , who wrote a lot of the early Star Wars issues in the late 70’s and Early 80’s had the right idea, in my opinion , in that Vader is too good a character to over use and doing so diminishes him .They seem to be using him almost every issue now .
