The Empire Strikes Back Marvel Comics Cut
Time

ESB is and always will be my favorite Star Wars movie . an experimental edit I made, using clips found online, to make an edit that follows the scene order of the comics adaptation as closely as possible while still throwing in some surprises .not meant to replace the original, but rather , intended to be a fun alternative way to watch for those who have seen the movie countless times . I am by no means a professional editor or even on par with a lot of creators here , I just wanted to see how these scenes flow together . This is a very crude edit , kind of like a rough cut assembly and I have used Jambe Davdar’s ESB alternate opening as it is the same as the opening for the original Marvel comics adaptation , as well as some stop motion clips that have the names of the creators on the clips .If I have not credited anyone or someone has a problem , let me know and I will take it down .The sound levels go up and down due to using various clips , so may be a bit jarring in some places .Anyway , this is something I wanted to see so I threw it together and thought I would share my love for the OT on the OT website …https://vimeo.com/286799980 this is the first ten minutes ( all I have done so far )

Hopefully there’ll be a crowdfunded sequel (maybe even a reboot?) to ‘Gremloids’ someday soon…

Awesome ! I need a t-shirt with that poster on it . I also think I may vote for the Gremloid party .

Taking a stand against toxic fandom (and other )
Time

wow , I go away for a day and come back to this . I said it several times and I will say it again , this is a place to stand up for those who have been harassed , not to debate whether or not they have been harassed . and I have repeatedly stated , as have the mods , that if you want to state your opposition , then feel free to start your own thread ,yet some people keep ignoring this , even to the point of being banned or locked out of the thread to prevent further derailment ,and then I see they are back again . Then I see disparaging remarks about this being a " safe space " ,I can’t see these behaviors as anything but harassment and it seems like some people are reinforcing the case that the issue indeed exists . If this is not toxicity , then I don’t know what is .

Ahmed Best , field notes pt 2 …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CORTqcuZM_4

Part 3 of ‘Field Notes’ is up now too mate, where he discusses fans, respect, Darth JarJar, The Phantom Edit, and more - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CORTqcuZM_4

For others interested, Ahmed Best’s ‘Field Notes’ youtube channel can be found here:-

thank you for the heads up , I just finished watching that and it is interesting to hear how he feels about the treatment of his character in fan edits …he does not like his work being erased , but concedes that fan edits like the Phantom Edit are very creative and the people that make fan edits really are invested and care deeply about what they are doing .

not sure if this was posted elsewhere , have not seen it anyway ,seems Carrie Fisher, who was an in demand script doctor on many films ,including the prequels , contributed her skills to The Last Jedi as well…https://www.cbr.com/star-wars-the-last-jedi-carrie-fisher-script-doctor/

I said it before, say it again - Yoda with a lightsabre is like Gandhi with a machine gun

An apter analogy is Superman using a plane to fly.

I gotta agree here . in my opinion , both Yoda and the Emperor should be above the use of them , my go to fan edits cut these scenes out .

Attack of The Ridiculousness just dubs in Daffy Duck sounds as Yoda whirls about.

sweet !!!

<em>Solo: A Star Wars Story</em> — Official Review and Opinions Thread — <strong>SPOILERS</strong>
Time

was thinking about this movie again today and I thought it was a fun popcorn movie and Appreciated that all the monitors were crt displays like in the OT . While not on the level of the Ot . I did enjoy it .The Maul thing did not bother me because I watched all of the Clone Wars but I can see how people who do not follow anything but the movies would be like WTF ? Still . I think it would be a bold , unique and daring move for someone to make a Star Wars film ( or any film for that matter ) exactly the way they made them in the 70s and 80s .

Ouch! I liked them. Disney really ought to release a nice boxset with the uncut episodes in their original broadcast format.

Maybe I will give it another watch , I just remember being a little disappointed when they came out , they had a lot of childish antics like r2 break dancing and such , though I did like the backgrounds that had a Moebius/Heavy Metal like quality to them .and they did have a big influence on the Prequels . guess that is down to Ben Burrt writing some of it .

Huh… nice catch 😃 (I’m off to the opticians)

Edit : Seems on the 40th anniversary content on the SWcom site they use the original artwork…

https://www.starwars.com/star-wars-40th

just caught your edit , now I am doubly perplexed , they can put the original poster and a revised one on the official site , but no official high quality release of the OT ?
