Duracell is a great master code breaker as evidenced by the red plom bloom
The original header on the splash page of the original Marvel Star Wars comic read …Long ago in a galaxy far far way …there exists a state of cosmic civil war . A brave alliance of underground freedom fighters has challenged the tyranny and oppression of the awesome galactic empire .This is their story ! Stan Lee presents :Star Wars the greatest SPACE FANTASY of all ! so there’s that . and the whole a long time ago in a galaxy far far away is inherently suggestive of the whole long ago and far away trope of fantasy as well .
I don’t know about this , seems to me like this " easter egg " is kind of retroactive and made up on the fly …https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2018/09/author-jason-fry-shines-light-on-a-long-hidden-star-wars-easter-egg.html I thought the guy was shouting " The Empire’s Down "! and I have always thought of Tatooine’s twin suns as G1 and G2 since they were named that in the 1978 Star Wars Storyboook I had as a kid and still have a beat up copy of .
you’re welcome
Hey, which one sucks the least: 1, 2, 3, or 4? I’m thinking 3 or 4.
I am going to say 2 looks the best , I would recommend 3 books to seek out 1. How to draw comics the Marvel way by Stan Lee and John Buscema 2. Constructive anatomy by George Bridgman 3.Dynamic anatomy by Burne Hogarth . All three are excellent for teaching you to break down figures and heads into their basic components and simple shapes that will give you a good foundation to build on .These books helped me improve by leaps and bounds when I was learning to draw .Study and copy them and you will improve quickly .
Hello in TV land …choop choop choop .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKOGugXwNAU
but the real question in all of this is , why is six afraid of seven ?
gotta disagree here , Roseanne Barr was a direct consequence of what she said in the moment , James Gunn was a hit job , whose comments were dug up by some of that same alt -right hate mob in retaliation .
there is a difference between wholesome and an outright asshole
You’re not familiar with his comedy. Observe as Jon Stewart laughs his head off as Norm pokes fun at Marlon Brando’s Oscar acceptance speech. You either get it or you don’t. That’s comedy. Everyone who knows him loves him.
I am more than familiar with him and have laughed at some of his jokes in the past , however , in that article you posted , the equating of Down Syndrome to a lack of empathy diminishes my opinion of him as his comment diminishes those with down syndrome . He calls for forgiveness and a second chance and then makes that comment ? WTF ?
there is a difference between wholesome and an outright asshole
IDK …I was almost willing to give HIM a second chance , until his analogy equating people with down syndrome to having a lack of empathy …having once worked closely with clients in a group home who had down syndrome , all I can say now is Fuck him man .
I have a 1977 Burger King glass with artwork of R2-D2 and C-3PO on it , I know that Burger Chef had A promotion for posters that had the same artwork that was on the glasses . I was always under the impression that Burger Chef later Became Burger King ( I live in the United States by the way ) and that is why the art is the same , but after talking with a friend , and doing a bit of research , it seems this is not the case and they were two separate entities . here is the Burger Chef commercial for the posters …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCez7mZP_ws and here is the Burger King commercial for the glasses …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCBUMErrxKI what baffles me is that I don’t remember seeing Star Wars promotions growing up in the 70’s and 80’s where the same artwork was used by different license holders . does any one have more info on this ?
Smokey And The Bandit is another movie I saw every week that summer. Huge fan.
Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen again;
cool . thank you for sharing , will have to check this out
Russ Heath, 91
Writer/artist of many DC war comics, and victim of Roy Lichtenstein.
wow , was just talking about Lichtenstein with my girlfriend after seeing a print at a restaurant , turns out Russ Heath was one of many victims , John Romita of Spiderman fame was another among many others …https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/comics-behind-roy-lichtenstein-180966994/
A little bit of Ralph McQuarrie never hurt anybody.
JEDIT III: Removed Jedit’s 1 & 2
I signed in just to comment …this is freaking amazing !!!
I need to add this to my collection , it is criminal that I do not own a copy yet
nice to see Ahmed Best dealing with the toxicity he received by continuing to channel his feelings on the matter in a constructive way …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2QBlA6ORHQ
I agree that they are not protesting the anthem , this line of dialogue started and inflamed by the cheeto in chief is just part of the divide and conquer agenda
The issue with Metropolis is which of the many versions does one synch Pink Floyd to?
I’m surprised nobody has fanedited the Moroder version, (my introduction to the film in the 80’s, and still a favorite) adding in recovered lost footage and extending the songs.
is this the version you speak of ?..https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/rock-version-silent-film-classic-227317 if so , would love to get my hands on it .I first became aware of this film in art school when one of my teachers brought in a vhs tape for us to watch in an art history class . I love this film in any version .
Is there a list somewhere of the best silent films?
Do any of them pair well with Dark Side of the Moon?
regarding the 1927 Fritz Lang film Metropolis, this being a Star Wars site and the Robot Maria from it being a heavy design influence on C-3po …anyway , someone did set it to Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here album once and it was brilliant , but it has since been taken off of youtube …someone later set it to various Pink Floyd tracks , including Wish You Were Here , and that is available …

Bullied child refuses to fight back ‘because it’s not the Jedi way’…

with comment from Mark Hamill - https://twitter.com/HamillHimself/status/1034708134751883264
I have mixed feelings on this …I think it is great that the kid stands by his principles and that Mark Hamill gave a shout out to him and much love and respect , and I hope the ones who assaulted this kid are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law . I also think a better Jedi philosophy to follow is that of Yoda " A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense , never for attack ." If it were my kid , I would make him aware of the real world martial arts influences on The Jedi , let him know that to defend yourself is perfectly ok , and enroll him in a martial art school to learn self defense .I’ts not the Jedi way to kill and maim , it is to defend oneself and others.
