^ Thank you for linking to my work oojason ! much appreciated !
You may be right and I am willing to eat my words and apologize if you are , but so far , your argument does not seem to require a shred of proof .
^ I still do not buy your argument , care to share ? I could be off base but I feel you are implying that there was a still photographer present on set for every picture depicted in the storybook .I am more inclined to go with what Jonno said , I remember seeing some of those photo novels he talked about …they even did one for Battlestar Galactica . Here is a link to some info on that one …and a really cool website to boot …http://space1970.blogspot.com/2012/11/battlestar-galactica-1978-photostory.html and now that I think of it , how were the lobby cards made for the movies ? and ultimately , can’t the storybook photos still be used as a reference either way for colors ? They look great and could be a great guide for things like hue , value ,saturation and color temperature .But that may just be the artist in me talking …
oh yes , Goodwin’s writing was brilliant as well , and at times it felt like I was watching a movie in my head . He captured the voices of the main cast perfectly .
or just a cute joke …but Jim Henson DID visit the Dagobah set while Empire was being filmed , with Kermit and Miss Piggy in tow ! …http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Yoda
Perhaps someone spilled their coffee all over the original page?
Never realized this before, but Kligson sure looks a lot like Robocop.
^ very true on the Robocop lookalike , I have often wondered if film makers maybe looked at these books for inspiration …the character of Valance The Hunter where they show his half cyborg face is a dead ringer for the Terminator !
I have been reading on this other forum that after the Empire Strikes Back adaptation , the new editor Louise Jones started having various inkers like Tom Palmer and Carlos Garzon work on Infantino’s pencils to make the comic look more film accurate .After the Empire adaptation , the artists had to up their game . I know you like the charm of Infantino’s more cartoony art ZkinandBonez , and I can see your view to a degree, but he never drew the ships and hardware correct and I much prefer the Walter Simonson Era .Even in the examples you posted of Archie Goodwin’s layouts , I can see a difference in proportion that Infantino brought to bear on them .Goodwin’s characters are leaner in his layouts , and it’s most noticeable in the proportions of R2-D2 . I think part of the problem is that Infantino was primarily a super hero artist and he drew all of his characters with that aesthetic . I think the best we got from him was the water world issues where Terry Austin did the inks .but this is all subjective .oh , and here is the forum I mentioned …http://classiccomics.org/thread/1039/star-wars-marvel-reviews-confessor
I have always wondered why people do not use the photos in the 1978 Star Wars Storybook for reference when doing color corrections . https://www.starwars.com/news/parenting-padawans-5-reasons-vintage-star-wars-storybooks-stand-the-test-of-time
Because those are production photos, not film stills.
^ really , they look like photos from the film , it even says full color photos from the film . although there is one in there that has Vader without his cape while " sensing a presence " that was probably a still . These pictures are very much the way I remember the film looking in the theater . I think some may be production photos but not all , but I have no proof , do you ?
^wow that guy sounds like a condescending douche ! could only stomach a few minutes of it . in a more positive light …YODA ! …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7GOESLzN5Y
^WHOA !
^ yes ! she was a great character in Clone Wars . I need to get around to reading the Dark Disciple novel to see how her story ended . I have only read a summary of it .
I will go with Leia and shira. I admire a lot from both of you. I mostly follow both of them because I like their fashion sense. In fact, I dye my hair like Shira by using Regenepure products( https://www.reecoupons.com/view/regenepure )
^Ahsoka Tano is a very good character too , she started out as a snippy teen and evolved into a formidable and wise warrior .Plus , what is on top her head is natural and she does not require product nor peddle product overtly on message boards at random . As a member though , she might leave a link in her signature .
^ lol

I still don’t know what Yoda’s species is, but his last name is Layheehoo .
^ you’re welcome . thank you for the feedback and Merry Christmas to you !
glad to see you back and I am digging the Independence Day avatar . I read your post in that characters voice .Just be on the lookout for Captain SW or Colonel SW and good luck avoiding General Sw . Myself , I try to avoid Leftenant Sw .
The Emperor’s throne room also was a bit too simple, needing more greebles or dynamics in the design as it just looks like a plain room with some wall light scones and a window which is far too small. It needed probably a number of larger windows in which to help indicate the scale and bring the exterior inside more to help tie it all together.
^ This is what I was saying in my earlier post but you articulated it better
Defending Admiral Holdo in The Last Jedi …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kyfb-K1rbY
And on the other hand…(not trying to be a jerk, I honestly think this is a valid rebuttal)…
interesting video , I can see some of his points , though I would argue that Holdo was a little pissed that her best friend Leia was hospitalized and Leia was also in on Holdo’s plan .I completely disagree with the suggestion towards the end of the video that TLJ had no quiet character driven moments though …here is one …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GU4hyN5rnk and another …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yepMuMoAKpA
I have been enjoying my blu ray copies of both films this year , I think they also have some great extras and commentaries
