Thinking about making an Extras disc for my Ewoks release. Any Ideas of what I could put on it?
Time
How about the 'Free Hat' episode of South Park - the one with Lucas and Speilberg - or at least the clip of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark: Special Edition - with added Ewoks' bit from it.

There's also Cartmans 'Ewok Village 2000' clubhouse, and Johnny Cochran's Chewbacca Defence in earlier episodes, although they might be a bit tenuous and brief to do much with.

Another idea for extras would be a gallery of ewok related artwork, products, toys based on the cartoon etc.

Jedikev?
Time
Well, I think the best thing about Jedikev is that you can switch him off using Moth3r's Forum Enhancement filter

Never thought I'd have to use that again since the days of DamnyouallB, but the Jedikevs posts have been so conspicuously similar to DB's - albeit like a dumbed down DB - that it was worth adding him to the filter.

However, since the Kevin Smith/Jedikev sucks threads he did seem to calm down a bit, in the Preservations and General threads at least, so was suprised to see him temporarily banned in what I thought was his 'cooled down' period.

Personally I find most of his posts disruptive, and I can't say I've noticed any 'valued contributions' - where've those been hiding? To me his main contributions so far have been maintaining a level of behaviour that makes everyone else on the forum look fantastic by comparison. Secondly, he seems to fulfill the role of forum whipping boy, acting as an outlet for people to vent their spleen at, possibly attracting negativity away from the rest forum.

If and when he does return, perhaps he should be given a ranking for him to aspire beyond, such as Whiny Youngling, or Jar Jar Binks, until such times he proves himself capable of more maturity and civility.

And if and when he returns, I predict he'll go the same way as his forerunner DB.

Holiday Special Deleted Scene - Wasting Electricity
Time
Wow, who'd have thunk there'd be deleted scenes from the Holiday Special? What a great(???) find - well, maybe for masochistic holiday special completests anyway

Luscafilm should definitely release the Holiday Special on DVD - they could even include a small hammer with every copy, just so Lucas can fulfill his wish to destroy every copy.

And why hasn't Lucas given this the special edition treatment it deserves? How hard can it be to CGI a black rectangle over the entire screen for an hour and a half?

I could carry on, but its like kicking a small puppy...

Bantha Tracks
Time
I recently found .pdf versions of the old SW fan club newletter Bantha Tracks are available for download via Wayback Machine's (Internet Archive) archived versions of artoosnews.com - artoosnews having withdrawn them from their site long ago.

Get them here.

I was able to get 1-28, and 30-32, however does anyone here have .pdf versions of the missing issues - 29, and 33-35 - and is willing to share them?

Info Wanted: OT - Do you have any Star Wars Audio Interviews?
Time
I've got various star wars related audio interviews downloaded from the web - gotta love the BBC for putting their stuff online - here's some links.

Radio1 Colin and Edith interview Anthony Daniels and Dave Prowse - 2004
James Earl Jones general interview, Star Wars mentioned
Jeremy Bulloch BBC Wiltshire Interview
Michael 'Mr Bronson' Sheard BBC Wiltshire Interview
Dave Prowse BBC Wiltshire Interview

I've also got more recent, prequel related interviews. Radio1's Colin and Edith did a week of ROTS interviews from Cannes with Lucas, Hayden, Samuel L Jackson, Portman and McDiarmid if I remember correctly. Got all five shows on harddrive somewhere, but need to edit them down to just the interviews.

There's also Joe 'Adam and Joe Show' Cornish interviewing Rick McCallum. Haven't Listened or downloaded this yet, but heres the link.

And lastly, there's Mark Hamill talking Star Wars at the 2004 DVD release.

i did find some registries with lots of numbers in there names but they were .pf files that were routed from windows/prefetch

could those be them

Its possible. It should be safe to delete any suspect files from the windows prefetch directory, according to this.

As for making changes to the registry, hard to say at this stage, so I'd leave that side of things alone rather than risk cocking it up. Although if any instances of iexplore appear here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
they should be deleted.

It could be spyware/malware rather than a virus. The upshot of that being virus scanners won't pick it up but antispyware like AdAware or Spybot might. I recommend getting those on your system anyway for added security, if don't have them already.

There also online virus scans: This one from panda does a spyware scan too, could be worth a go.
Pandasoft Free Antivirus online

Pages like this list a lot of different trojans and nasties all calling themselves iexplore.exe

And this page has some advice for tackling it manually.

If you find this file in the system32 subdirectory then it is dangerous. I believe that it should reside in \Program Files\Internet Explorer. Remove all instances of it from the \windows\prefetch directory. Search through the registry in the HKLM....\Run and RunServices for data relating to "internet Explorer". Note the .EXE file name and remove this file from any where you can find it. My Opinion: nasty ad ware, and difficult to remove

There also seem to be variations named lexplore.exe (with an L instead of an I) to fool the unwary.

Hope something here is useful to you.

Original ANH and TESB lightsabers being auctioned.
Time
If you want pictures, check out the auction listing on ebay - here's a sample page: Gary Kurtz Auction Listings

Some of this has already been talked about in the obscurely titled Ever Wondered What Happened to Lukes Hand? thread.

This auction seems to have a thing for body parts - check out the various lots for 'dismembered Yoda' - feet, head, hands, without which he won't be able to play his flute. Yoda had a flute???

And similarly, I never knew Boba Fett had a built in Tractor Beam

I guess auction sites can be educational as well

Ever wonder what happened to Luke's hand?
Time
Holy Cr*p! - there's so much star wars gold in those other lots.

Original Storyboards
Star Wars Script pages with Lucas alteration scribbled on
Photos of Kershner giving Vader a big old kiss

Looks like a lot of it is from Gary Kurtzs personal collection:

This is a great chance to check out some rare stuff. Some good reference pictures there.

***//BUILDING EMPIRE\\: PAL & NTSC DVD - NEW EDITION NOW ONLINE! ***
Time
Found this snippet of info about the General Mcquarrie cameo from http://www.ralphmcquarrie.com/interview/mcquarrie/interview.html. Hope it helps.

"You were in a cameo on The Empire Strikes back weren't you?
Yes, they got the artist's together to do a scene that was played out over a Matte painting that I had done of Rebel ships parked in the Ice cave. We were going to be Rebel soldiers. I was a general who walked by from screen right to screen left. You can see me if you know what to look for. Joe Johnston, Harrison Ellinshaw and Mike Pangrazio, stood in the foreground and had a few lines, they didn't trust me with lines, they knew I would flub up (laughs)."

EDIT: Yocke beat me to it.

EDIT UPDATE: Okay I've found the scene: Its about 20 minutes into the film, and comes after vader says "set your course for the Hoth system... General Veers, prepare your men "
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/elvis2/generalmcquarrie.jpg
That's mcquarrie on the right.
I never really noticed it before, but that is a pretty dodgy matte painting of some rebel transports in the background.

.: Moth3r's PAL DVD project :.
Time
I'm using Grabit - a VERY easy to use newsgroup download tool - with a $25, 65GB 'block' worth of download with Astraweb, based on russs15 recommendation in the alt.binaries.starwars thread. I've also got a backup block account with Octanews, a bit dearer than Astraweb, but useful for filling any missing files.

The whole monthly subscription thing was what put me off using newsgroups, so discovering these one-off payment 'block accounts' that some providers offer was what swung it for me. Its a great and inexpensive way to dip your toe in the water of newgroupdom, with block starting as low as $8, and theres no 'use by' date, so the block account last until you've used all your gigabytes it up - handy if your ISP caps your monthly download limit.

I highly recommend both newsgroup providers, and Grabit, none of which I would have found if it wasn't for the alt.binaries.starwars thread.
Cheers guys
