Awesomeness!!!
Awesomeness!!!
I really love this idea. I always thought Vader was ironically too un-Vader-like in his first movie because of how badass he became later (the improved voice in ESB being a huge part of that).
However, every time I try to download the clip it only gives me the first few seconds. Could someone upload it somewhere else?
So I'd convinced a friend to cancel his order of the Blu-Rays and get the Best Buy 2006 tin set off ebay instead. So now he not only loves the originals, but when showing one of his younger relatives Star Wars for the first time the other day, he told me he used the original versions.
I'm quite proud. :D

Chewie taking a shot to the shoulder and shrugging it off seems unrealistic
Especially considering that in ROTJ he gets shot in the leg and ends up on the floor bleeding.
I... never noticed that. O_o

I'm still wondering about Obi-Wan mentioning midichlorians on Dagobah in ROTJ (I believe)?
I'm sure it was a joke. :)

Has anyone considered that BETTER sales may promt Lucas to release the OOT?
I mean, the guy obviously takes issue with releasing them for his own personal, stubborn reasons. Meaning no matter how hard we push, petition, etc. He's not going to move on it. He wants us to see Star Wars this way... so why not make the guy happy? Wouldn't a positive view of diehard fans be better than one of total disagreement, offending eachother?
Let's say every star wars fan out there boycotting this release picked a single day to purchase the set, possibly from a single retailer/website. Perhaps even from a very small online store, that is going to have to make a huge unprecedented order to meet demand. Perhaps we could organize the purchase ofThousands, maybe tens of thousands of copies, bought in good faith, on the same day that a letter is sent to George and anyone else slightly connected to him, stating "We bought the films, we'll view them the way you want us to. In return, will you please release them the way we want to view them as well"
I'm just not understanding how this boycott is supposed to affect a multimillionaire who feels very little financial impact either way. Perhaps attempting to work out some quid pro quo is the way to go...
Sorry, but that's a terrible idea. We all know how stubborn he is about not releasing them. I doubt he'd agree to a deal he'd be forced into upon receiving the letter. He'd have our money and then do nothing.

His urgency? "MOVE MOVE MOVE! CHEWIE!" What was the plan for Chewie to want to run off like an excited puppy down the wrong corridors, for Han to have to yell at him like that?rpvee said:
Loved Han's urgency in the Bunker raid.
EDIT: The Falcon crew is pretty damn flawless in terms of quality. Beautifully preserved, and so neat seeing those firing chambers again!
And its incredible they built ALL of these sets and didn't use a frame of them.
Yes, his urgency. He sounded very frantic to my ears.

Vader joking Jerjerrod isn't as badass as I'd expected... I think partially because of the angle on Vader, and partially because of Prowse's voice. I do love the satisfaction Jerjerrod has in telling Vader he can't enter, though. Jerjerrod's conflict, though... WOW, even with no music I can seriously feel the suspense. Epic scene. With some cleaning up and added music I think the scene would SERIOUSLY be awesome to put back in for a fan-edit, maybe even Revisited. It's a great little subplot.

That's the idea from another fan edit being done here on OT.com. :)

I can't see why a SW fan wouldn't want to own the blu-ray set with all the extras it has.
But anyway...I'm buying mine later today and happily so.

Ignoring the first bit of this one (which is now perhaps one of the most awkward Star Wars moments... ever), the rest is actually pretty good. Leia's attitude comes through loud and clear.

The most awkward moment ever? Hard to beat Attack of the Clones for awkward moments...
Even Anakin strangely accusing Padme of kissing him is not as bad as siblings about to freaking romantically kiss.

I'd imagine tubes in his suit.
I don't think I ever noticed that before!! Though it sounds like only one scream, not tons.

Those are amazing!!!!!
Thanks :-)
A stormtrooper feels off for a movie as deep and character-focused as Jedi.
This is a joke, right?
Not a joke. Look beyond Jabba and the Ewoks and it's a very character driven movie. We get deeper into the characters' complexes more than ever (Leia and Han after Luke's revelation, the entire Death Star confrontation and Luke's conversation with Vader on Endor...).
So it's kinda like a reboot taking elements of the original and dramatically remixing them? Never saw Battlestar so I don't know how it works.
Anyways, very neat and creative ideas!!!
I'm personally confused as to why the side says Palpatine is 1.73 meters tall, but Sidous 1.78. lol
EDIT: And why it says Maul was in Episode II.
That's right, I forgot about Ady's own personal losses. My apologies, it was 1 AM or so.
Not a complete overhaul. Recently I've seen people calling the Revisted saga "what the special editions should have been", which I think is an excellent way to describe them: keeping the colors intact (even corrected), the lightsaber blades beautifully corrected, fixing the most unnoticeable errors, and having a surprise here and there. Ady has an entire unit filming new footage for the Battle of Hoth, for example, with props built, as far as I know, from scratch. He was even making a Wampa, though I don't know if that ended up working or not.
Ady is doing entirely new filming for this one, making models from scratch, etc.. He's taking his time for extremely good reason.

Just convinced a friend to cancel their Blu-Ray order and get the 2006 Best Buy tin instead (they liked that it was a limited edition rare thing, and they have NEVER seen the originals. No Shaw, no eyebrows, no Yub Nub, no good sabers).
No Lapti Nek! :P
Yeah! :O

I know. I remember growing up with the full screen versions with commercial breaks my parents recorded off of one of the cable stations yearssssssss ago (like early-mid 90's when I was introduced, and I'm about to turn 19). I grew up with the original versions just like everyone else here, if just not in a theatrical way. I can't imagine having NEVER seen the originals as they were.
