Watch out Rebels, a new contender for creepiest-looking Yoda portrayal has emerged!

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures premiering on Disney+ and Disney Junior May 4.

The blue teddy bear with the wittle fangs is cute tho!

Who is the most annoying character in Each Trilogy? Excluding Jar Jar, Rose, and C-3PO.

PT: Nute Gunray, I guess. Just because he’s basically the main villain of TPM and gets a lot of screentime and he just sucks, and not even in a fun way.

OT: I hate to say this, but if I had to choose, it’d be Chewie in Empire. Just cause his roaring starts to grate on you by the end of the movie.

ST: Maz Kanata. She’s supposed to be this venerable, wise character, but she never actually says anything of value, as far as I remember.

These are all good points, actually.

I think I might change my PT answer to Padme… Natalie Portman’s acting in RotS specifically was a whole new level of cringe…

“Yippie!”

“But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”

I’ll leave it to someone who bothered to finish the ST to supply an appropriate Rey line.

“I bypassed the compressor!”

In all seriousness, these are my picks:

PT: Mace Windu (SLJ is a good actor, but he cannot pull off stoicism)
OT: The Ewoks (particularly Wickett)
ST: Poe Dameron (he should’ve died in TFA as planned)

Some Contradictions of the OT with the Prequels
Time

Channel72 said:

In the Prequels, we learn that Darth Vader created C3PO.

This doesn’t contradict anything.

It is NOT a continuity error at all.

Nothing in the OT is contradicted by this.

But…

But…

But…

But… like, we learn that Darth Vader created C3PO!!

Surely that disqualifies the Prequels from counting as actual movies, right?

Not if you talk to the dumb zoomers running rampant on Reddit these days…

Some have then started guessing games: “Unfounded prediction: Daisy Ridley will appear on stage at Star Wars Celebration London as they announce the next Star Wars movie will feature Rey. It will be the Lindelof film and it will be released in 2025. They will be in London because production will start in April ‘23.” - https://twitter.com/ATGcast/status/1617519242257260545

There is Probably nothing in it, but if there are to be new films set just after the Sequel Trilogy it would make sense for some of the main ST characters to cameo, or play guest parts in them?

Hopefully so, though Jeff Sneider said he doesn’t expect her to be in the Lindelof film. Maybe Levy’s movie is also set after TRoS?

The Bad Batch (animated series) - a general discussion thread
Time

I’ve been really enjoying this show so far. I like it better when Star Wars is “loose and easy” and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This latest episode is like a homage to the podrace in tpm as well as the race in Droids, and I like that we focused on Tech, for a change. Will be interesting to see how the dynamic between the team and Sid continues to evolve. Sounds like they’re gonna eventually leave her and join “a bigger cause” or whatever.

The big challenge down the road is gonna be figuring out how to address why all these cartoon characters are missing from other stuff (mainly the OT). Rebels already had to pull a lot of things out of its arse to explain why those people are all absent later on. How much will this show be able to get away with, in that regard?

What changes would you make to the Sequels?
Time

In addition to the above, I would also kill Poe early in TFA as originally planned, as I feel he got in the way of Finn’s character development. Rey was supposed to be the new face of the Jedi, and Finn was supposed to be the new face of the rebellion.

I would also leave all the “Finn as a Jedi” red herring stuff out of the TFA marketing and make it clear in all the trailers, posters, etc. that Rey is the new Jedi.

Furthermore, I would tweak the ending of TFA a bit to show Luke already dressed in rags and sulking when Rey finds him, so that it’s clear from the moment we see him that he’s a broken man and not really a Jedi anymore.

 • Give Jakku a different biome
 • Rey would initially live with her parents, who wouldn’t be anyone of importance.
 • Instead of neo-Imperials, the villain would be an ancient, pre-Sith evil. The being that corrupted the first Sith.
 • I’d have the formation of the New Republic and New Jedi Order occur during the movies rather than them coming and going offscreen.

Yes to all of this!

New “scoops” coming from a credible source (but take this all with a grain of salt, of course):

It seems that the plan is to still release three new Star Wars films in 2025, 2026 and 2027. These will all apparently be announced at Celebration in April. The first will be Lindelof’s film, which will start shooting in the summer. The new lead will be a POC man. Doesn’t look like Daisy is coming back for this one.

FWIW, Lucasfilm currently has flags planted for December 2025 and December 2027, but not December 2026 (that spot is still reserved for Avatar 4). So if we really are getting a movie in 2026, I guess it’ll be around Thanksgiving time? Can’t really see them going back to a summer release after what happened with Solo.

Rogue Squadron could be one of the slots?

Maybe Taika Waititi’s film as well, or is that a bit early?

The source (Jeff Sneider) says the Taika and Feige films are pretty much dead. He also just clarified that the new lead will be a POC woman, not a man.

For anyone who cares, I have a new post up on my blog now that touches on this subject: http://henrynsilva.blogspot.com/2022/12/revisiting-my-empire-strikes-back-hot.html?m=1

Oh cool, you referenced my Tolkien comparison! I’m glad that was food for thought.

Ah, was that you? I remember reading it but couldn’t remember who said it. If you want me to edit the post to credit you then let me know!

It’s alright, you don’t have to.

Fair enough, then! But yeah, in any case, I thought you made a very good point with that comparison. It certainly helped me to look at ESB from a whole new angle, so thanks.

So with the leaks that Ashoka and Skeleton Crew take place in what might be a new galaxy with more “magical” force-users, etc… What do we think this means for the film side of things?

The rumor claims that force users in this new space are more like magic wielders, and that we may have seen some of their species before. I think the original source frames ‘magic’ as a red herring, hinting at the night sisters, but I think it would actually make sense that this is where Yoda’s species comes from, and ultimately ties back into Mando returning Grogu to his (literal) kind later down the line.

Good thinking! I remember wanting that to be the case initially anyways. Also I remember hearing that Lucas himself helped Filoni and co. come up with a name for Yoda’s species.
