Part of me wishes he didn’t, but for the most part I’m glad he did.

Prequels are fun to think about but not as fun to watch.
Sequels are not fun to think, but still fun to watch (for me, at least).
So I prefer the sequels.
I’d like to see him in a Kevin Feige-ish role. Just have him be “the idea guy” for everyone, and then write/direct things on occasion. Sounds like they’re heading in that direction anyways.
I didn’t like this newest episode of Ahsoka. Idk why. Felt too “dry” or something.
Donald Glover’s brother confirmed today that the Lando show is gonna be a movie now.
I really liked episode 5 for the most part, but I agree with others that the lesson she was supposed to learn in the world between worlds shoulda been more clear. Also, as with the other episodes, some of the dialogue and pacing choices are still cringe. But overall I still enjoy the show.
After today’s episode though… I am 100% confident Sabine will return without Ezra, finding out he escaped on his own. Sabine goes back to Lothal confused and upset, and Ahsoka and her part ways. There will be a time jump and Ahsoka will arrive again when she has a lead on Ezra.
These are NOT the same scene.

Different clothes and her staff. Filoni isn’t that dumb to mess up his own canon.EDIT: Plus with Filoni being funny about when this scene takes place… I could see it being the closing scene of S1, setting the stage (with more context) for S2 or his movie.
Filoni is already on record saying that he sees the animated content as just fairy tale recounts, and that live action is “what actually happened.”
Besides, how does your logic explain why Ahsoka’s head tails were longer in Rebels? Or why she’s not wearing her tube-top outfit during the live-action recreations of the battles of Teth and Ryloth?
Just watched episode 4. It was very good. Now I understand why episode 5 is getting a small theatrical release lol
Great episode! My excitement for this show has gone up a whole bunch now.
All of the live-action characters are starting to feel more and more like their animated counterparts to me, thankfully.
SPOILER Review for episodes 1 and 2 (overall I liked them):
PROS: No shaky cam (lol), good music, good cinematography and lighting and whatnot, nice space opera/ spirit of adventure feel (love the crawl), easy to follow story, good characters, interesting premise.
CONS: Wooden acting (at times) and wooden action scenes (at times). Some scenes were also just a bit too slow in general. Also Sabine getting stabbed was stupid, and I feel like there coulda been a flashback or two to better establish exactly why she and Ahsoka had a falling out. Either that or just bluntly state that she can’t use the force (yet?).
Overall tho I still really like the show, and am looking forward to more.
SPOILER:
People who got to go to the early screening of the first two episodes in NYC are saying that the show starts with a crawl, but the text is in the same font as the one from Solo (except it’s red instead of blue) and the paragraphs move straight up instead of diagonally (like the saga) or fading in and out (like in Solo).
Not that it matters, but I personally think this is pretty cool! Hopefully almost all the future movies and shows do their own “spin” on the crawl. Not clear what the music is like during this sequence, but I think it’d be pretty cool if it was just a simple drumbeat, since that’s originally how it was gonna be in sw77 anyways. Could be a cool little “nod” to that.
MSW is saying that Mando Season 4 might get turned into a theatrical movie, to be directed by Dave Filoni, as a lead-up to the “mandoverse crossover” movie that he’s already been announced for. According to MSW, if this new plan gets greenlit, the new movie slate will be Rey movie -> Mando movie -> Thrawn movie -> Jedi origin movie. He also says parts of Ahsoka season 2 might also get moved into this new potential movie. Make of that what you will.
If this is actually true and does come to fruition, I hope this means they’re learning from the failure of Book of Bobba Fett and Kenobi, and the mild disappointment of Mandalorian Season 3. If you don’t have the plot for a 6-8 episode series, don’t make a 6-8 episode tv show. If you only have enough plot for 2-3 hours don’t make it a show make it a movie. Streaming shows have been suffering from this for a long time. Things are never the length they need for the story, the runtime is always heavily inflated to keep people on the streaming site for longer and this has killed so many shows that would’ve been great if they were either a movie or 2-3 episodes shorter.
I completely agree. That said, I still hope the first Star Wars movie released in this new era is the Rey one. I feel like it just makes more sense to start there. Then they can do the Mando film and Thrawn film, and then the Jedi origins film.

Justin Simien says he found out about his supposed “exit” from the show thru the media in the last few days. Doesn’t match up with Sneider’s claim that he secretly left last year. Wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes.
I woulda done away with the whole “fear of loss leads to evil” or whatever. Instead, I’d rather that Anakin have a god complex and think that he needs to inherit as much power as possible to maintain order across the galaxy. I think that aligns more with the Empire’s values anyways. I would also probably have Obi-Wan be the central character of the PT, rather than Anakin, and have Anakin’s downfall happen at the end of the second movie, and then the third movie is all about Obi-Wan coming to terms with things.
Not sure if this is unpopular or not, but the new Wonka trailer that just dropped looks really good, and I have a feeling it’ll be a good movie.

Looks really good, I must admit. Right when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.
Sounds like someone just took the news from celebration, that Kathy Kennedy interview and the previous Lindelof story and ran with it. Only changing the timeline from 100 years after TROS to 15 years. It is far too early for any story synopsis. The only trade i trust is Variety. Most of their scoops were based on fact or from info directly from the people at Lucasfilm. the only other i’ve found reliable is Vanity Fair.
Edit: I also hope they can get Oscar Isaac and John Boyega back but this doesn’t look like its going to be episode 10. The only connection to that trilogy is Daisy/Rey. I also think Mark Hamill despite some fans concerns is absolutely not needed in this movie the torch was passed. We need new worlds and new characters and to expand outward not shrinking the galaxy. I also hope the Empire is barely touched on, though wouldn’t mind a little bit of world building about the state of the galaxy and New Republic. And no new Sith,a new challenge/foe would be preferable.
I agree with all of this. If Rey talks to a ghost again in this movie, I’d rather it be Anakin or Ben Solo instead of Luke this time.
Never mind, the above info might be fake, according to this:
Production Weekly lists this film as Star Wars: New Jedi Order and says it’ll start filming in April. They also shared a synopsis that says the film will be about Rey training a boy and a girl and that the girl has extraordinary abilities and “is destined to become the future leader.”
Release date just announced as 12/15/2026.
The new schedule is a movie for May 2026, a movie for December 2026, and a movie for December 2027. But we don’t know which movie is which yet.
Dave Filoni’s new Star Wars movie will feature a mash-up of different sources and characters
Get ready for an Avengers-style meetup on the big screen.
https://ew.com/movies/star-wars-movie-dave-filoni-jon-favreau-interview - with a 3 minute video of both talking about the film
“We’re in the right area code,” Filoni says. “We are definitely in the right space. I think it’s going to be a clamoring of characters saying, ‘How do I get in this picture?’ And that’s what Jon and I have been figuring out.”
“I think for a long time, as I’ve learned to work in this galaxy, it’s a long play,” Filoni says. “And if things go right, you get to do more of your story. Things I think have broken in a good way for us, and people have enjoyed the characters that we’ve been making. So certain opportunities came up the further we went along.”
“When I was younger, we didn’t have movies, but there were comic books, there were novels, things that are encompassed in the [expanded universe] or Legends,” Favreau says. “Clearly, there are decisions that have to be made to fit it all together, but for us, I think one thing we’re in agreement about is that the characters — as special as they are — the story has to drive what characters are.”
“We joke that it’s like we’re playing with action figures, like, ‘What’s in the box? Let’s play with what’s in the box!’ And that’s what you do when you’re playing and you’re a kid.”
Uh. I have a bad feeling about this. More use and twisting of the EU, for which they’ll be happy to take the credit, without actually crediting the original creatives. And more “it’s like we’re playing with action figures”, something repeated when they explained what they were doing for seasons 2 and 3 of the Mandalorian.
I hope I’m wrong, I hope it is a hit. With a good story, emotional weight and payoffs, all done with quality and a little bit of magic. Something more akin to Manadalorian season 1, and not later Mandalorians or Book of Boba Fett. Maybe we’ll get more insight for this with the Ahsoka series.
You can definitely tell that all of The Mandalorian so far, for better or worse, has just been them “playing with action figures.” At least they’re self-aware, I guess… And yeah, they’ve pretty much confirmed my suspicion that this new film will be the SW knockoff version of Infinity War. We’ll see how that goes…
Kinda surprised the season finale got such mixed reception tbh. I thought they did a good job taking classic Star Wars movie tropes and remixing them in a fresh way.
