What a coincidence! I love Radiohead, and I was listening to it just 2 minutes ago!

They are probably going to play a lot of their new material at this gig, please let me know how it was!

Radiohead was supposed to have done a gig here in November 2003, but they gave up when they realized it was not going to be profitable. I realize it is not the band that made these decisions, but still it's a bit disapointing for a so-called indie band...

So, what is your favorite album? I enjoy OK Computer and Hail to the Thief, but I somewhat enjoy their Kid A and Amneasiac material a bit more...

How I would have done:

Episode 1 starts pretty much the way it does, but with Palpatine's evil schemes more clearly shown - no Darth Sidious thing. Let the good guys be good guys and the bad guys be bad guys. There are no gungans. Then they crash in Tatooine and meet a 15 year old Anakin. He lives alone, and no one knows where he is from - he was found by Lars and sold as a slave. There's no C3PO or Artoo. He participates in a race that envolves flying ships, ending in a 4 way melee to death. He gains his freedom and is under Obi-Wan's guidance.Padme is taken hostage by Darth Maul. There's a brief adventure to rescue her, leading up to the battle that kills Qui-Gon.

Episode 2 follows pretty much the story that is told on GL's Episode 2, with Anakin being an older, more experienced Padawan. There's no Jango Fett and the clone army is of Sifo Dias, who was an undercover Sith Lord before Darth Maul. The love story between Padme and Anakin grows of a tension between the two, Anakin not wanting the duty to guard her, but falling in love with her at the same time. they never go back to Tatooine. The final half of the movie is made of the final confrontation on Geonosis, leading to a 3 men battle between Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin, versus Dooku. Dooku escapes, but is killed by a mysterious Grievious under Palpatine's orders. Padme shows signs of being very ill, and hides this from Anakin as she marries him secretly.

Episode 3 follows the same story as GL's 3. Padme cannot hide her illness no more, being caused by Palpatine's dark side influences on her. She reveals to be pregnant. Anakin wants to save her life, but cannot do it with the Jedi. Palpatine reveals himself and says that the only way to save Padme is through the knowledge of the dark side. Fooled by Palpatine, he acts in the Jedi purge. Obi-Wan and Mace Windu have an amazing battle with a deadly and always silent General Grievious, which ends up costing Mace Windu's life, who dies at Obi-Wan's arms like Qui-Gon did. However, Mace Windu disapears. Obi-Wan follows Padme, going to Mustafar. There, Anakin fights with Padme, and force-throws her over a pit. Obi-Wan, who was secretly watching it all, saves her from falling into a lava pit, but Anakin belives she is dead. They fight, and the fight ends up the same. Padme is very seriously ill and dying, and dies while giving birth to the twins. She is secretly buried in Naboo. Obi-Wan goes back with Luke on Tatooine, and leaves him with Owen Lars, son of the person who first found Anakin. Qui-Gon and Mace Windu appear to Obi-Wan and tell him the secret of joining with the force. Meanwhile, Vader is consuming himself in self hate for supposedly killing Padme beyond any ways of saving her (he thinks she was consumed by the lava), and his transition to the dark side is complete.

Jesus H Chris! Why would anyone do that? I mean, you want a nutritious meal, go eat some salad with tofu or something, or take vitamins, don't canibalize on your pregnant wife! Did you teacher it with with some fava beans?

I just realised that by saying 'only a Sith deals in absolutes', Obi-Wan is himself dealing in absolutes - 'you just used an absolute, so you MUST be a Sith'. So is Obi-Wan a Sith?


Only a Sith deals in absolutes, except when saying that other people are Siths for dealing in absolutes.

Some character cliches I can think of right now.

The chubby kid who has a real passion for food and is somewhat of a coward.

The F-word yelling white ethnic mafia wiseguy who is cold-hearted when killing people in brutal and gory ways, who grows into his organization until he betrays or is betrayed by others and find his end in an equally brutal way.

The intelligent and good-hearted scientist who is made captive of a crazy super villain and is forced to work on something ridiculously un-scientific which will bring some sort of super power or strenght, regardless of his warnings about it not being complete and under control. The whole thing colapses with him saying something like "I told you so!"

The substitute teacher who gets into a rough neighborhood school, working with the worse class possible, with good-hearted but mislead and lost students. The teacher is discredited by the comunity around, but gets to touch the heart of the students and make them learn ina different and fun way. One special troublesome kid finds his away, regardless of the abusive parents.

The juvenile person who gets back to medieval times for some reason, and uses portable technology and common knoledge to mislead people to think he or she is a wizard. Everyone on this 10th century steriotype of an era speaks an easily understandable modern english.

Parade magazine (known worldwide for its hard-hitting journalism) has pulled the results of its online poll in which it asked readers who was to blame for Tom Cruise's PR problems. 84% of respondents blamed "the Press" for distorting the Cruiser's image. Now, this guy is a genius. He started a website in which he offered a red paper clip to trade with anything else, and his ultimate goal was to keep trading things with people until he got a house.

Sounds ridiculous? Matter of fact, he did get it. And it took only 10 trades.

Anyway, I'm trading my red pen here, and my goal is an apartment in Manhattan, so...

This gave me an idea for a thread. The chess thread. We'll play each other like people who play over the mail or e-mail. You get into the thread and say that you are looking for an oponent. If there is someone willing to play, you decide who's the white and who's the black, and white starts. You could declare your movement in the "classic" way, like, Nf3, Nh6, or by the letters and numbers method, like A2-A3, or A2xB3. What do you think?

I hate the stupid American tax system where you sometimes end up paying in. So stupid. Our is much better. But I hate that we get taxed more, so in that way yours is better. Either way I hate taxes.


Which reminds me to do my taxes. I haven't even started this year. I usually get it done by march, it's april now, and the deadline is april 30th. Over here you can do it by the internet, but it's quite complicated, and I had some changes going on last year, so I'm not even sure how to declare the taxes. Anyone else having problems with that?
