World Cup 2006
Time
Really a shame for Mexico to lose like that. And a shame Argentina got to the next round - we hate them here because they are cheaters.

1978: The whole 1978 Argentina World Cup was a farse assembled by the dictators. Brazil didn't lose any game at all and was desquilified when Argentina, who needed to beat Peru for 6 goals, did it. The goalkeeper for Peru was Argentina-born, anyway. Brazil had to move thousand of miles inside Argentina for the games, while Argentina played almost in the same place always.

1986: Maradonna scored two non-valid goals, including one with his hand (the famous "Mano de Dios").

1990: Argentina poisoned the brazillian player's water bottles for their match against Brazil. After years of denial, Maradonna and other members of the argentinean team confirmed this.

1994: Maradonna was caught on the dopping exam.

They usually play very dirty. Injure oponnents when the referee is not watching, simulate faults and injuries for their benefit, stall the game, throw several balls into the field to stop the plays (like they did today).

Net Neutrality or SAVE THE INTERNET!!
Time
- They show VERY little protests of ANY sort on television here in the USA anymore and our Government is forcing so called "FREE SPEECH ZONES" on protesters - Just last week when Mr. Bush was here in Albuquerque at the PIT they thought it best that the protestors (closer to 300+ in real life not the reported hundred or so) be located 2 miles away downtown! Any protestors that showed up at the Airport or at the PIT were arrested or relocted to a FREE SPEECH ZONE (NOT covered by the news, nor were the riot geared cops who were around the protest) BUT the protest did make local news for all of 30 seconds!

I had no idea. If you hand't told me the country, I would have thought this was on Cuba or Tianmen Square in China.

WHO LIKES To drink
Time
You know, when I was a teenager I thought I would never drink in my life. Alcohool, to me, tasted horrible, and I didn't like the effects of it. Time went by, I became more social, more friendly, and life began to suck harder and harder, things got worse all the time. I started to go out more, and pubs and night clubs, and while I would refuse to drink before, I started to get used to it. I began to apreciate it. Suddenly, I became very interested in drinking. Now I'm proud to say I love to drink, and I have become an alcohoolic!

Well it's not a pretty story, it's sad and pathetic, but I never said it would be a happy story.

I hate M. Night Ramalamadingdong!
Time
M Night did some terrific directing jobs. Sixth Sense worked because he was able to hold the whole mystery of the film in a subtle way, and got a brilliant acting out of Haley Joel Osment, who is a great actor but can't go beyond "cute" unless the project he is doing is good (see Pass it Foward, AI to see what I mean). Unbreakable was well directed because he had this awful, awful script, almost nonsensical, and turned into an enjoyable film. Signs is absolutely brilliant, the way he makes the existence of aliens ambiguous through the film - the scene in the basement is brilliantly directed. And then he just loses himself in a forced conclusion envolving bad CGI and "coincidences". The Village is his worse film, VERY predictable, but still, quite enjoyable. It's not boring. It has good dialogue, and good acting (except when he's on camera). I tend to enjoy his films, and I do intend to see his next one.

Is this a personal thing against him? I just don't understand why this crusade against him! Because I've seen so many directors work the way he does, and he is a good director, he is a mediocre writter with a few good scripts, and a fairly good director. I mean, if you want to criticise a director for the way he deals with the studio and his movies, why not talk about Uwe Boll, that TERRIBLE director who makes bad films on the porpouse to flop due to a loophole in Germany's laws?? Why not McG? Why not Jon Peters?

The Non-Biased PS3 Thread
Time
Something tells me the whole Blu-Ray issue is going to be the final straw in the PS3 disaster. Although technically inferior and not backed up by as many studios as the blue-ray, the simple fact that it got a start before the blu-ray makes me belive it'll come up victorious. It will be too early, in november, for the blu-ray to bea mainstream media platform, and not justifiable to buy it merely for this. Summed by the lack of inovation, the bad-mouthing of the industry and the internet community, the high price, and the Wii, it all sums up to be a major flop.

M Night has done some bad movies recently, but were those worse than the prequels? He is not such a great writter, he's no Charlie Kaufman, and he seems to be stuck with the whole "plot twist" thing, which is really not necessary - but kind of expected from his audiences. However he is a very good director, and I admire his work. I don't understand why all this hate against him.

Democratic YES:140 NO:58 DID NOT VOTE: 3
Independent YES: 1

Thank you republicans, for making the world a little bit worse, one action at a time.

Ironic, since its normally the democrats doing that.

Both parties do. The democrats at least sometimes try not to.

That would! Asking about Jesus is risky, because they may actually have and then you're stuck in a religious discussion (unless that's what you want). Asking about Scientology would likely turn them right the hell off. Then ask if they have accepted Xenu as their Lord and Savior. YEAHHHHHHH!

Scientology is not known around here. I am currently the only one on this country, that I am aware of, which actually knows what Scientology is. Mostly because people around here don't have a lot of money to spend on crazy religions. So I gotta stick with the JC. Perhaps if I ask her what would Jesus do, she would agree with me that hanging up is what the saviour and messiah would do in such a situation.

All I want to know is, which party voted more to NO.

Well, it dosen't matter where, democracy works, specially when the will of the people and freedom are thrown away for some money going into politicians pockets.

I want to applaude and congratulate the Corporate America here to give one step back, 15 years into the past, in global communications and freedom of expression. Kinda like China is doing, but merely for stupidity, greed and money.

It would be a red card, and a penalty kick, which the goalkeeper COULD save. So, if you really need to avoid the score and there's only seconds left on the clock, this could be a desperated solution for it, although it's unlikely that such a scenario would happen, in which the only real way to do save the ball is grabbing it, instead of kicking it out - unless he really has covered the goalkeeper with a kick and the ball is coming too high but really going to reach the goal. Nowadays, it's rare to see a defence player so behind due to the offise line strategy.
