The New Doctor Who
Time
I've watched part of an episode for Dr. Who for the first time yesterday. It featured the tenth doctor, and on that part of the episode the doctor and Rose were locked with this lady on a room, and telling two other people how to get rid of an alien who was invading their apartment - a man in a rubber suit. They managed to explode the alien by throwing a mix of some oil and eggs on him, as the doctor quickly discovered what was the secret weapon... *sigh*

That was an undeserved victory for Germany, a team I still feel to be technically inferior to all the teams currently at the World Cup except Ukraine. But due to luck and for being home, might get to the final. Let's see how they handle Italy - which is way inferior to Argentina.

Oh well my predictions are all falling apart... Quite surprising.

And I'm quite happy to see those bloody cheaters go back home again

At the next Celebration:

FAN: "But George how could she remember Padme if..."

GL: "STOP! ... Look! I just don't know, okay? I don't know! I, uh, I, I, I just made it up, okay? It's a freaking movie, not the Bible for Christ's sake! There's just too many characters and too many planets to come up with, and so many characters dying and getting pregnant and getting into other planets, and I got lost, okay? I tried, really! I kept, you know, yellow post-it notes on my computer, with ALL those things you nerdy fans complain, like, 'Jar Jar is not cool' and 'Remember: Anakin is Luke and Leia's father', so I would make it RIGHT the way YOU wanted! Okay?! But look at me, I'm a 62 year old billionaire, I'm not supposed to be creating space characters and space sagas and space whatever that make any actual sense! I just made it up as I went along, are you happy now? Are you happy now that I've admitted my incompetence?! Huh?! Now that I've admitted I just made things up as I drank the mini-bottles of Vodka I had at my hotel room near the studios in London and Australia at 4 AM, crying and calling the Samarithans, while I was trying to shoot a movie when 5 hundred billion nerds keep whining every single MOMENT! And as for the O-OT, I lost it, okay? I left it in a cab back in San Francisco and I forgot to take those with me when I left, and I called the cab company from my hotel room that same night, but some other guy must have taken it because it wasn't there! So the SE's is all I got, okay?! But I can't admitt it, I can't admitt those facts so I lie, I, I, I, I can't speak about my weakness to everyone, not even my psychiatrist knew about this! Until now! There she is in the audience, I can see her! So, please, LET me finish producing Indiana Jones 4 and Red Tails, will you? PLEASE!!! OH GOD I can't take it anymore!!!" * runs away crying *

FAN: "............. Okay... So my next question would go for uh... Mark Hamill... How difficult was it to work with the character of Yoda."

MARK: "Well Frank Oz did a terrific job on...."

Yeah, unless, you know, you have a lamp for shooting, or have the camera resting on a table for a while. Or change your underware during filming. Or if you DON'T cast Bjork. That would make it, like, NOT Dogma 95 because some swedish or finish guy said so. The whole thing about Dogma 95 is more like a challenge, let's see if you can make a movie under this stupid rules.

Isn't Blair Witch Project a Dogma 95?

This sounds offensive and stupidly stereiotyped, even more when I my local IP is blocked by this website (accessing it from Brazil), but I have no problems reaching it through a foreign proxy (the javascript did not work though, so I can't see what it does after filling the name and number). You guys KNOW that most football players here are known for nicknames, not their actual names, right? Oh yeah, you don't.

Video and Article: Rep Won't Let Customer Cancel AOL Account
Time
This person I work with had this idea once, see if anything like that exists: it would be this company that you pay something like 1 dollar every month, and they have all you data. You name, address, everything that proves you exist. Then, they would give you this ID number. So whenever you wanted to hire some service, let's say an internet connection, you'd give them this ID number, and they would say "Ok, you're Ric, you live at yaddayaddayadda street", and have everything done - all they would need is credit card or anything of the sort. So later, if you wanted to cancel the service, you don't contact the provider, you call that first company, that gave you that ID number, and state something like "Cancel my net connection at AOL", and you wouldn't have to worry about a thing, the company would do everything for you and handle with, as the example, AOL. Wouldn't it be cool?

Totally forgot about that. Remember how people left the theater when he recieved the honorary academy award? Would they do the same if M Night got his best director on sixth sense? I don't think so.

OK sure, we disagree. I won't talk about it anymore. It's just that I am very puzzled by this topic and still trying to understand the reasons for all the bashing and hate... Makes no sense.

Yeah but I mean, what director dosen't do what he does? Spielberg does, Hitchcock did, he did self promotion constantly, had his names sustain his films (see the movies after "Birds" and you'll see what I mean), bashed actors and he was a genre director. Orson Welles did that. Tim Burton. And take no talent hacks such as Uwe Boll and McG for instance... Or George Lucas for Christ's sake! I just think you are seriously overreacting about that M Night subject in a way I don't understand...

The Non-Biased PS3 Thread
Time
OK this is great, this is a quote from Kaz Hirai from Sony (the Riiiiiidge Racer guy):

PSM: Sony and Microsoft seem to be taking the exact same path.

Hirai: We seem to. Every time we go down a path, we look behind and they're right there - we just can't shake these guys. I wish that they would come up with some strategies of their own, but they seem to be going down the path of everything we do. If you look at their strategy in other business areas as well, they tend to do that.

WTF?! How about Nintendo? How about the company they stole the rumble from, so they got a legal action keeping them form adding it to the PS3 - so they come up with a lame excuse it will interfere on the motion sensors... Which are nothing but a gyroscope...

Yes, I agree with you, they could have it only on World Cups, but that is how FIFA works. They feel that having a different rule just for the World Cup would make it a different sport. They have all sorts of reasons for not doing the video assist, such as discredit over the referee's judgment, and other stuff like that. The two referee thing is still kinda experimental, but I see it as a possibility.

They REALLY need to bring instant replay into football. I was watching a hockey game recently and they weren't sure if the puck had crossed the line. A quick look at the video replay revealed it was indeed a goal and the point was given. Good stuff in my opinion.

I've considered adding the video challenge to football the way it's done in american football, so they can review the play, but... the problem is, FIFA must have rules that are playbale in any conditions, and not always the games will be televised and have cameras. Also, it'll take some of the credit of past referee decisions. So, FIFA cannot allow it.

A second referee has been accepted in some cases. Some local tournaments in Brazil were played with two of them on the field.

I hate that every time I get back into my apartment, I find a new coachroach to kill. I nicknamed them Kato, as the Pink Panther character. Every time I get into the apartment I say "Kato? Where are you?", and start to look for the coachroach. When I find it, a battle begins in which the whole apartment is destroyed.

Except that I kill the bug before the phone rings and it picks up saying "Inspector Closeau's residence."

WHO LIKES To drink
Time
Alcohool was forbidden more than 70 years ago in America. Please keep in mind that I said America, not the World. Some tend to confuse the two, or to think one has greater influence than the other. Also, alcohool had gone into mainstream acceptance and tolerance for some time. Drugs are stigmatized with crime and will not be handled by business if legalized. Also, I am quite aware of college kids smoking pot, I for one thank God never touched that during college, but remember: 500 wrongs don't make a right. Arguments I've seen so far for doing it are:

* Everyone's doing it! It's cool! Why shouldn't I?
* It's less harmfull than cigarettes! It's less harmfull than alcohool! (no it isn't)
* Marijuanna based products boost the economy (well but you want to SMOKE that, not wear it)
* I'm peaceful if I smoke it, I won't do anyone any harm! (Yeah but the drug dealer will)
* Cheech and Chong's movies.

I don't smoke and I never will. I do drink, but I know where my money is going to. Lots of it going for taxes that will go for pulic health, and some of it goes to the companies making the beer - I even know where the factory is located. If you buy some pot, even if you consider it less harmfull than alcohool, be sure a lot of people died for that weed to arrive at your lungs.
