Princess Leia
Time
Although this question is of an easy answering, it also poses a question I had here on this forum, which I'll bring up again just for the fun of it. Leia obviously knew who Vader is, and their brief dialogue as her ship is boarded suggest they've met and talked several times before. Wouldn't it be a little risky for Bail Organa to expose Leia to Vader that easily? I mean, he could somehow realize that was Padme's daughter.

The New Doctor Who
Time
I think the whole idea of the Doctor regenerating is brilliant, because it solves all the plot holes regarding the actor's age, and the time the series is set in. Kinda like James Bond, the early movies must not be cannonic with the recent ones because of the time span. Unless Bond also regenerates himself when he dies.

It dosen't here. Still, some people make that mistake. Another common mistake is to belive there is a DBGT manga, which there isn't. DBGT was a way of trying to milk more money out of the series, and did not even had any participation of the manga creatoer Akira Toriyama.

Call Centres - Revenge Of The Customer...
Time
I've been having trouble with them for years. The best way to fight them is to know details of their work. Make sure they KNOW you are into the whole scheme. There are some websites that give out this kind of information, besides, it's amazing what some cold reading techniques can do if used against the right kind of call center attendant, they'll spill out information like crazy.

Call Centres - Revenge Of The Customer...
Time
I GOTTA share this with you guys. My internet connection was off at 10:50 PM, and I decided to call the phone company (which provides my... ISDN *sigh*). I have a loooong history of yelling at them, I've had so much problems with them you wouldn't belive. So anywhoo, I called them just to see what was the excuse this time. For the past two times, it was a mere, generic "technical problem in the system", for which they denied any more details, as it was waaaay too complicated for me.

So I called them, and got on hold. For 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the internet connection got back, but I decided to go on with the call, just to amuse the attendant on the sunday night shift. So here's how the called went, after 35 minutes on hold:

ATTENDANT: (Phone company), (his name) speaking, how may I help you.

RIC: Hi (name). Uh... I had some problems with my (system name) and decided to call you. That was 35 minutes ago. The internet connection got back after that, but I decided to remain on the call just to see for how long I would be put on hold. Whew, 35 minutes, how weird is that, eh? Say, are you from (and I name the office branch the local attendants work in, this always freak them out)?

ATT: (pause) Uh... Yes, what is your name sir?

RIC: Ricardo. (His name), could you please give me the protocol number for this call? (The number every phone company have for each complain and call, these are used internally to trace complains with the telecomunications government office, this always freak them out too)

ATT: Sir the (system name) support system is facing technical problems and is down at the moment, so I cannot give you that information at this moment.

RIC: Well ain't that special? Please give me your full name.

ATT: (His full name).

RIC: So, (full name), 35 minutes on hold, what do you think of that, eh? Lets chat for a while.

ATT: Sir the support system is down at the moment, and will be back in 4 hours.

RIC: Well (name) that is bullshit because you got that "four hours" from that blue manual they handle to you call attendants as to how to answer vaguely to the customer and you know it.

ATT: (interrupting) I ask you to call again after that period sir.

RIC: Oh no way in hell I'll call you guys at 3:30 am. (pause and sigh in frustration) That was pretty useless (name), so good luck at your night shift there at (place he works).

ATT: Anything else we can assist you with, sir?

RIC: (laugh for 10 seconds) Hell no!

ATT: (Phone company) thanks for your call, have a good night.

I hang up.

EDIT: took his name out

Music guilty pleasures.
Time
Lennon alone, by himself, did some good things like Imagine, but he was very hit and miss, mostly miss. Yoko Ono seemed to drag him into mediocre projects. Paul McCartney also did some good things, but he seemed to have lost some of his old touch. Lennon AND McCartney were THE best composers of rock music. Period. I challenge you to find someone better than the two. Some could have been as good as them. Maaaaybe Brian Wilson if he didn't become a complete fruitcake. Maaaybe Roger Waters could if he hadn`t become a heartless greedy bastard. Maaaybe Eric Clapton could, but nah. Not even close. Freddy Mercury did good arrangements and sang very well. That's it. He was a show man.

That's sort of the point of Dr Who, Ric. It's cheesy, tongue in cheek, rubber suit crap, but that's why people love it. It's a British thing. The idea of Doctor Who, however, is not cheesy, it's a great concept, and it has the potential to be one hell of a serious sci-fi show, but then it would be just another American sci-fi series, and not Doctor Who.

I just expected something different, in a more serious tone... Gonna try to watch it more.

World Cup 2006
Time
All I have to say is: Roberto Carlos and Robinho are frauds, Cafu and Ronaldo should have retired in 2002, and Parreira should have retired in 1970, when he was part of the crew of the 1970 World Cup team. Congratulations for France, a team that moves in a bizarre flow of being terrible and being good, and depends on inspired moments from its players. France played very well, above their usual game, and Brazil was, without a doubt, one of the worst teams in this world cup. This has been the last Cup for Ronaldo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos and Parreira, so things will be better in 2010.

Now, there are only two possible scenarios here. Either Portugal will face Italy on the finals and WIN this world cup - if things move as they should, OR... good old FIFA will "arrange" things so Germany wins over Frace at the finals. There's NO other scenario.
