Nausicaa...
Time
* possible spoilers *

I did see it. Great anime by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

Now, first of all, what version did you watch it? There's the original version, and there's the american version called "Warriors of the Wind". The american version butchers about 20 minutes of the film, alters the plotline and changes the dialogue - it is so bad, compared to the original version, that Miyazaki said he wanted to burn every copy (like GL and the holyday special). Was there a scene in which Nausicaa dreams about her past while being engulfed by the Ohm's tentacles? If so, congratulations, you've watched the original version.

I think you've missed the point. Earth was destroyed by men, but even so, Earth managed to cope with that destruction and create a perfect "balance" of it's natural resources, animals, and the polution. At what cost? Mankind was confined to small villages, always afraid of the polution madness it has created. I think it's a great environmentalist film, it's just that it's upbeat and positive about the future.

If you want to see a good environmentalist anime, watch "Future Boy Conan" (a 1978 anime masterpiece also by Hayao Miyazaki).

By the way, the scene with the giant warrior - my favorite in that anime - was animated by Hideaki Anno, who, 11 years later, created and directed Neon Genesis Evangelion. So I guess I can see where part of his inspiration for Evangelion came from...

Your joke sucked, dude. If you're gonna go over the top, GO OVER THE TOP. Your "joke" sounded like 95% of the posts here. It's not my fault I misunderstood you, although I apologize for that. If you're going to mock ridiculous garbage like that, you have to MOCK it, not just imitate it dryly. You've got to figure out a way to MAKE your words into that cymbal and rim-shot. I'm not a frigging IDIOT for misunderstanding you, so don't condescend like I am.

I didn't over-react. It was a plain reaction. People act as if directness is substitute for rudeness. It's not. I just think mincing words is a waste of time.

Thanks.

Yeah well, that's why I quit stand up comedy. People tend to think that comedy is either slapstick or laugh-track oriented sictons such as "Friends". I didn't think you were rude, and AGAIN, my reply was ALSO a joke, so I apologize if you didn't understand the joke again, and thought that I was being rude. It wasn't my intention, really.

OK, so, next time, I'll post a wav sound with a laugh track, so it gets easier to understand.

LOL:

"39. YODA'S DEATH SEQUENCE: Yoda says, "Soon will I rest. Yes, forever sleep." Less than four minutes later -- bam! He's a goner. And what does Luke do while his beloved master lies choking and gasping for his final breaths? Well, he just sort of sits there like a doofus and watches him writhe in pain. Not that dialing 911 is an option on Dagobah, but a simple, "Hey, Master -- you okay?" would have been a nice gesture."

That's the one thing that bothered me on ROTJ: Yoda's death. He's talking to Luke, making soup, and suddenly he dies like that! He should already be on his death bed at the moment as Luke gets in, and be all like "oh no, Yoda, hang on, I'll bring help", and Yoda stops him and says something like "No, nothing can stop me from dying now"...

that's a shit-poor analysis. What "plot" has been removed from ANY of the SE's besides "Greedo shoots at the same time Han does?" certainly nothing that would qualify as "more and more."

I don't like every change via the SE's and the 2004 updates, and I understand why people don't like them, but to say something as overexaggerated and blatantly stupid as "CGI Shirley Temple" and "we're losing more and more plot" is just histrionic overreaction. And that kind of overreaction is actually WORSE than whatever change made to the movie.

*sigh*

OK folks, once again, I have to STOP and explain to you that it was a JOKE. I know it's hard to understand when a joke was delivered. I don't HAVE a drummer, and I don't have a laugh track, the people I kidnapped to be my laugh track managed to escape. OK? So when you see something hilariously ridiculous, you can be sure, it is a JOKE. Now, jokes are not ment to be taken literaly, or seriously. They are just exagerated, humorous comments on known topics, ok? So, does anyone has any questions? Did you understand the "joke" thing?
