Also maybe the anakin/obiwan fight and the yoda/emperor fight shouldnt be intercut, some have said it ruins the tension of the anakin fight

maybe the noooooooooooo bit could be replaced with a vader scream

theres just some random off the top of my head ideas

Dagobah and Yoda meditating and talking to Qui-Gon should be back, if those scenes exist in a final form and are available, which I doubt.
Weren't those 2 figths intercut? Memory's failing me now, maybe it's time to see it again...
Replace it with which scream? Vader having his hand cut?
Maybe add some tie-fighters around the death star? After all, this scene is obviously set a few years before the empire is formed (notice that they already have full uniforms). On a second thought, don't add anything, this would be too much close to an SE change...

It's not that I disaprove the idea, but this thought was on my mind as I left the movie theater thursday at 2:30 am: it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a MagnoliaFan edit over this, and GL did it on porpouse. You can cut bits and pieces, and maybe restore some cut scenes when those are available, but that's it. Maaaaybe overdub the Vader "nooooooo!" with something from the OTs, although I'm not sure what. There is NO way to make this film better editing what's available now.

Another thing which has no meaning and I might add to things I hate: life itself! Don't know if you've been through such a moment in your life in which everything feels so weird, like you life is a movie co-directed by David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick and Federico Fellinni based on a book by Franz Kafka.

Falcon is in ep3
Time
Well I saw a bootleg copy on DVD on sunday afternoon last week. It was full quality and it was in fullscreen, which leads me to belive it was copied from a promotional copy or something. A friend of mine told me that there were bootleg copies in China for over a month, perhaps an early cut of the film? HOW does those things leak so fast and so easily? I mean, I've read that right now there are 2 quality copies in torrent servers, not filmed from movie theaters...

Ep. III: Focus on tracked music
Time
Now, I could be wrong, maybe my memory is failing me already, but after Obi-Wan and Anakin get onto the ship that's holding Palpatine, until the ship begins to fall apart on its descent, there was no music at all, right? Maybe at some parts, but during the search for Palpatine, no music, right? I thought that was a good decision, made the whole thing more tense.

ROTS sets new Opening Day Gross record
Time
The film cost 113 millions, plus 98 millions in advertising and distribution. About 200 million dollars. It has achieved 50 millions yesterday only. So, it's gonna pay for itself in only 4 days - let's be reminded that it opened on a thursday, and there is going to be a bigger audience on friday/saturday/sunday. I think it'll make top 5 box office worldwide.

"You filthy whore!"

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Padme: "Anakin, I'm pregnant..."
* Obi-Wan comes back *
OBI-WAN: "Oh, Anakin, I almost forgot. Your sperm count test result arrived, you can't have children. Gotta go..." *leaves *
*Anakin force chokes Padmé *
ANAKIN: You intergalactical whore! How could you! *Padme dies *
ANAKIN: But... who could be the father...?
* cuts to Wicket the Ewok on bed with Padme, goes back to Anakin *
ANAKIN: Ah, who cares anyway.
* Palpatine comes in *
PALPATINE: Anakin you idiot, you must come to the dark side if you want to save your girlfriend's life!
ANAKIN: Nah, i'ts ok. I break up with her. I actually broke her neck up. She's dead.
PALPATINE: ... Oh. I didn't forsee that. So, uh... is there anyone else's death you wanna avoid?
ANAKIN: Nope.
PALPATINE: Uh... any reason you could be convinced to be a Sith Lord?
ANAKIN: Hmn-hmn, no, I don't think so.
PALPATINE: ... uh... I see... OK. *leaves*

"And so, Anakin never turns into Vader and nothing happens from now on on STAR WARS. The End."

About the Death Star scene, I take that this scene happens some years after Vader gets his suit. We see that the imperial officers are all recruited and in full uniform, and I doubt Palpatine had thousands of spare uniforms hiding in boxes just waiting for his evil plans to be completed.

"I will form a galactical empire to make sure there's peace!"
*applause *
"So that's how freedom dies, with thunderous applause"
*appluse ending*
"And I have some cool, new uniforms for those who chose to work for me... I have 3 sizes... And you get this cute cap"
* Tarkin walks in, modeling the hew outfits *

Something well armed, well funded Rebels couldn't do for 15 years, then I don't want to hear you complain about plot holes or lack of believability again.

It was a not-so-obvious humorous overeaction about the topic.

Anakin giving into the darkside so quickly

Agreed. But I was thinking about it, and the thing is: there was NO way to make a Jedi character convincingly go to the dark side on one movie. So, as horrible and rushed as it looked, GL did a good job...

Quote

Palpatine slaughtering 3 Jedi's without hardly breaking a sweat when they come to arrest him (sorry but jedi's clearly suck in these movies)

It's not him moving, it's the force (like Yoda) acting for him and stuff. Although the "matrix jumps" he did were a little bit too much.

Quote

The numerous decapitations in the movies (i guess they ran out of ideas on how to kill someone??)

I didn't even notice... It was OK by me.

Quote

Obi Wan riding a lizard

Well, after all we saw on the prequels, one little lizard was fine...

Quote

Darth Vader walking like Frankenstein at the end and screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" (wow how many times have we seen that before)

Agreed... It was horrible... It would NOT happen if David Prowse had been called back, he IS Vader. Besides, I wished they had, like, 15 more minutes after Vader hets his suit...

Quote

and this movie couldnt have ended on a more pathetic scene... (we all know what im talking about "binary with lars")
i dont care who says different... i could almost see George beside me nuging me saying "huh huh... get it? we'll be seeing that in the next movie" BLAHHH!!!

It was an OK ending, the suns and stuff, a nice reference to the famous ANH scene, but as I said above, they should have a little bit more after the delivery of the babies... More Lars, more Vader, maybe a small dialogue with Tarkin, Yoda going to Dagobah, Obi-Wan arriving at his new home and putting a lightsaber on that box...

Quote

But the real reason i started this thread was to ask 2 questions...

1. What was the reaction at your theater when the movie ended? (cheered, applause, booing?)

I was absolutly stunned when at the end of the movie the crowd just began to booooo. And im not talking about a 1 second boo, i mean a full fledged BOOOOOOOOOOOOO from almost all members of the audience. I've never attended a Star Wars movie that had been booed.

It was stunned, painful silence for a few moments, with one or two people applauding. But mostly silence...

Quote

2. did anyone else notice 2 major plot holes .... if you want to call them that...

- When Luke asks Leia if she remembers her mother "her real mother" she says yes. She continues to say that she was kind, very beautiful, but sad...

didnt Padme die after Leia was born??
now if your telling me... that she remembers that from when Padme named her before she died im gonna howl.. because theres no way you would remember as a baby if someone was sad or not....??? i dont even think a baby would know what sad is....

Maybe Leia is talking about her adoptive mother, maybe she really thought she was an Organa.

Quote

ANYWAY

- ANH Ben says to Luke "your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough" (about anakin's lightsaber)

maybe its just me... i dont remember him saying that... do you?
and if your gonna tell me he said it off screen.... how would Anakin have known he was having a son???

Obi-Wan was one big fat liar on ANH

ROTS: The Child Birth Scene and Sidious Motives? SPOILERS
Time
1- If there ever was a scene with Yoda and Qui-Gon, why was it cut? Perhaps Liam Neeson didn't do the voice over and they cut it? If they did, the whole explanation of the Jedi spirits was not given to the audience!

2- Also, the explanation of why a Jedi disapear and some don't is not clear (perhaps if you know how to mantain your consciousness after death, you can also make yourself disapear).

3- How did the clones know about Order 66, and why did they obey? Hypnosis? They were all trained in kamino to do that? Didn't the Kamino cloners find weird that a Jedi went there to ask for clones that would eventually KILL the Jedis? Or maybe Sifo Dias was not the one there, but how about when Obi Wan was in Kamino?

4- And yes, the whole thing about the babies. Didn't Vader/Palpatine sense anything? Vader knew he would have a child, he never bothered to look for it in Tatooine? Perhaps while visiting his stepbrother, Owen Lars...? Or visiting his mother's grave, right NEXT to it?

How do you rate EpIII?
Time
As a film: 7/10, it was actually entertaining, slow in some points but I enjoy slow films, almost well acted, almost well written.

As a Star Wars episode: 5/10, still have the same flaws from the prequels, and some new ones. An enjoyable beggining, a few surprises throught the movie, some nice scenes, but that's it.

The 1st is the best, 6th is the worse:

1- ESB
2- ANH
3- ROTJ (very close to ANH)
4- ROTS
5- AOTC
6- TPM

I'll agree with you on most points, Shimmy. 4 out of 5 stars... yes. Best of the PT... yes. Space battle cool... yes. Better than ROTJ... yes. Cool that they follow some ideas in the NJO... dunno, have only read one of the NJO books. Better than ANH... no. That's the only one I don't agree on. Otherwise, I enjoyed it immensely and I'm an OT purist. Call me a heretic, I don't care. I can like it and I do.

Better than ROTJ? No way! It was the best of the prequels (only slightly better than AOTC), and it was a good film, but I'll take the Ewoks over Grievious any time...

EDIT: OK this is what I said: "Yeah, I hate when that happens! Someone starts to speal in a language I don't understand, I don't know if that person is actually talking about me... Although this is kinda paranoic of me... Also, why am I writing all this stuff, if I'm absolutely sure that no one will understand?"

It really made me feel like I was watching a new Star Wars movie, and that's where episode 1 and 2 failed. They just didn't seem like Star Wars movies.

I felt that too. For the 5 seconds shot from below, showing the officials at that lower part and the emperor, vader and tarkin above looking outside, I felt like I was watching a real Star Wars movie. That's why I think that there should be at least 15 minutes after Vader gets the suit.

And don't they have ultra-sonography in SW? She discovered she had twins at labor? And she DIES? What was that, they have a 1940s technology for delivering babies?

And you also have to remember that they are in an alternate galaxy. Who's to say that a month to them is the same as it is to us. Yes, her stomach may have been a bit small, but oh well.

So she dies. Bodies shut down sometimes. Losing the will is one explanation. But there are other possibilities the likes of which science even in a galaxy far, far away may not be able to explain. Just accept it and move on. No reason to jack yourself mentally over it. I can think of far worse things to worry about in the SW movies than that.

Even if they don't have the equivalent of "months", I think that humans in the SW universe still have to wait the equivalent to nine Earth months. Unless the humans are not that humans, and they have a 3 or 4 months gestation.
