Good... good! You are finally letting go to the dark side of the SW trilogy...

Warbler there's no big deal in seeing ROTS... Petitions, letters, and media atention, that's the way to get what we want, not boycotting a prequel movie...

Trailers during ROTS

Ten? Wow... Over here it's 6 tops. With some local ads beforehand. And of course, that little information film about turning off cell phones and stuff - which people DON'T comply anymore. People used to really turn off their cell phones (I do), but now they even talk on their cell phones during the film, and sometimes they want to COMPETE with the THX sound system, so they can see who's louder... I don't know why I keep going to movie theaters, I hate people!

Like Clerks:

"You're going? But you hate people!"
"Yes, but I love gatherings. Isn't that ironic?"

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Reports are now coming in from digital screenings of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith that, in fact, the film is not extended in those prints. So what does this mean to you? Most likely that the film won't change significantly for the DVD release later this year. Then again, both I & II were extended slightly when they came home so who knows. As for the "Sith" DVD, George Lucas and producer Rick McCallum have confirmed that it will feature five to six deleted scenes, for which ILM is currently finishing effects work. Likely candidates for the scenes include lengthier scenes from the battle on Kashyyyk (including a "crazy" mud-covered Yoda), Padme's role in the beginnings of the Rebellion, talkative Senate scenes (featuring a young Mon Mothma) and Qui-Gon Jinn's cameo. Current rumors point tentatively to a November 8th release. At the very least expect the DVD before Christmas.

OK so plenty of material to use in the MagnoliaFan edition
Specially the Qui-Gon scene, which SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the film.

I've seen applause, booing or cheering in theaters only in premiere midnight SW sessions, mostly because these are fans who are there to make noise and have fun and stuff. I've seen people booing trailers, but otherwise I've never seen it happen either. There's no point, there's no one there, it's not a theatrical experience, the actors are not there...

OK Warbler so sneak into the movie theater without paying. Or ask someone to pay the ticket for you.

I've said it and I'll say it again: boycotts are effective political weapons. Boycotting elections, performing sit-ins as they did in the US south in the 60s in order to end the apartheid system over there, or perform peaceful unobedience as Ghandi did. You can perform strikes to ask for better working condition, you can protest and boycott companies whose actions are hurting people and/or the nature...

But doing a boycott for a movie because a 60 year old movie director from hollywood, who has more than 3 billion dollars refuses to release an easily acessible DVD version of a movie you saw and enjoyed is overacting. I'm not going to force you to watch ROTS, no one will, if you don't want to see it go ahead, I just think you're taking the whole thing a bit far too seriously. These are only movies, these movies are suppose to entertain you and take only, like, 1% of your week's time...

overacting? thousands signed a peitition to have the OOT released on DVD, was that overacting? The whole point of this forum was to get Lucas to release OOT on DVD, was that overacting? When the SE OT was released on DVD many people boycotted that, was that overacting? Many people thought we should goto the stores and try and convince people not to by the SE OT, was that overacting? Yes there are fan edits, but I shouldn't have to get them in the 1st place and technically, its stealing. I don't like to do that.

What I'm saying is, it's pointless, you can't do anything by boycotting a film, so yes it is overeacting. Signing a petition is a far more viable way to get what we want, so NO, it's not overeacting. Boycotting the Lucasfilm DVDs is not overeacting because I don't consider it boycott, I consider it simply not buying a product that is presented in a format we don't want. Convincing people not to buy the SEs DVDs IS overeacting because you can't tell someone what they can or cannot buy.

Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion

Tarkin is much the same way. He has his turf, as does Vader. He's simply not afraid to let Vader know when he's going a little too far. And I think Vader respected those who had the balls to stand up to him but weren't idiots. Ozzel was an idiot and was killed for it. Same thing for Needa. Of course, they were responsible for Vader not getting his son back, not just regular back-talk.

Exactly. I mean, Motti was obviously not ranked superior to Vader, yet he was not afraid to tell him about his "sorcerous ways" and stuff... They are just high ranked officers who are not submisse or afraid of that weird magical cyborg who is supposed to serve the Emperor. By the way, what exactly did vader between episodes 3 and 4? Nothing at all. To the officers, Vader was just a bizarre aftermath of the clone wars, a walking relique...

Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion

For everyone considering editing Episode 3:

I don't know about you, but I think the scene with Owen and Beru looking at the suns, and the scene with the Emperor, vader and Tarkin should switch places, being the later scene the last one, with the closing credits over it. Why? Well, it is obvious to me that the scene with tarkin and vader on the star destroyer bridge looking at the construction of the death star is supposed to happen a few years before Luke is born. I've mentioned in another thread that Palpatine couldn't have done all those uniforms beforehand, and couldn't have recruited so many people. Also, he would only be able to begin the death star AFTER he declared the galactic empire... So it should be Owen and beru looking at the suns, then cut to the ancient-looking TIEs passing by and Vader, the Emperor and Takin looking at the death star. Cut to the side close-up of Vader, then cut back to the death star, seeing Vader from behind (in a similar ending to ESB), and then cut to credits. What do you think?
