The Most Needlessly Melodramticly-titled Thread Ever
Time
First of all, Warbler, you have no idea how happy I was when I've looked into the off topic section and saw that you've posted something. I miss all the old posters, you included. Damn it I would even put up with J**** (the one whose name could not be mentioned again) just for the sakes of old times...

As for myself, I simply don't know what happened, and why. Too many trolls and a lack of eficiency from the mods? I doubt it, I've seen forums in which trolls run amock (local nintendo forum) and forums with mods so uptight and with strict rules you could scream (the Pink Floyd official forum). WE are the ones who make the forum what it is, and it has always been such a close, few numbered community here...

Also, regarding Jay assigning more people to be mods without consulting anyone else, or going over someone's head or something... Now, I gotta admit I was never a big poster on the preservation forum, except for a few projects I was interested on (Dr Gonzo for instance), mostly due to my lack of technical knowledge. But is that such a big deal, that Jay assigned two other people to be mods to assist him on that specific section of the website? Was it jelousy for not being picked to be a mod? I certanly expect some maturity from the members of this forum, so I hope this is not the case.

I've seen it happen before. I was the op and founder of the first #anime IRC channel in a local server, and when I started giving op's to some frequent chatters who I trusted most, things started to go sour. I eventually gave the irc room to the people who wanted it the most - it was just bits and bytes, nothing more.

So my point is: COME ON PEOPLE! Such a big deal over other websites and forums, over trolls, over all those issues... Who cares??? I certanly don't. I'll keep posting here 'till Jay stops paying for the bandiwth, and I don't care what you guys feel or think about it. And to the old posters out there: I am pretty sure you guys are all welcome to return. You too Warbler. Please post again.

Princess and the Cobbler Review
Time
That Korea-animated version is so wrong, so amazingly wrong, I cannot find words to descbribe it, compared to the original version. I've seen the restored rough cut of the original, and it is simply amazing. No, there are no "cute songs", and the main characters almost never say a word (with a brief exception at the end). The final action sequences are so breathtaking there's no words to descbribe them. The whole thing works and it works well, and if properly completed would be the best western world piece of animation ever. Unfortunally money talks louder than art, and the production was taken away from the original animators (after 30 YEARS of production) and taken to korean animators, who dumbed down the plot, added dialogue and songs to make it "more commercial" (the movie bombed big time, though). The korean animators even LOST some of the reference material, old rough animations, cells, a lot of material that could be used to finish the film. I absolutely dispise the "Arabian Nights" or "Princess and the Cobbler" or whatever it's called bastardized version of Thief and the Cobbler...

ZigFried have you seen the fan restored rough cut of the original film?

Reason enough to be thankful...I can't stand work any more, or at least working for other people.

I even considered actually doing a turkey, but that would be like you guys celebrating Carnaval. Not right.

I enjoy working, I am a workaholic, but I don't wanna work for other people anymore, specially if it's for a greedy evil corporation. If things move right, I'll be working for and by myself soon...

Oh I see. That makes perfect sense. So much I don't know about the industry...

"Don't say industry, Donald!"

Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time
This one's kind of dirty, but anyway...

Two old friends meet after a long time at a parking lot, one of them driving an expensive car.

"How did you get so rich?", asked that one friend, amazed by his car.

"Well, gonna tell you a little secret... I opened a brothel...", he replied, smiling.

"Wow, really? And what is it like?"

"It's a three floor building. The first floor is reserved for the homosexual, gay sex only. The second floor are for those who apreciate an older woman, around 30 or 40. And the third floor are for those who want something barely legal, young schoolgirls."

"Amazing! And, was it hard to start this sort of business?"

"Very hard. At the beggining, there was only me, my wife and my daughter."

These are the review grades from Famitsu, famous for harsh reviews, and for giving the highest grade to only a few games.

Wing island - 5/6/6/6 (23/40)
Cororinpa - 6/6/6/6 (24/40)
SD Gundam - 8/8/9/8 (33/40)
Ennichi - 7/7/7/6 (27/40)
Tamagochi - 7/7/7/5 (26/40)
Red steel - 8/9/9/8 (34/40)
Trauma Center - 8/9/8/7 (32/40)
Elebits - 8/8/8/8 (32/40)
Pangya - 8/7/7/7 (29/40)
Wario - 8/9/8/9 (34/40)
Zelda - 9/10/9/10 (38/40)

Surprising rates for Red Steel (a game that was bashed by the north american media) and Zelda (a game many expected the ultra rare 40/40 rating)

I disagree. When I leave, unless I die, I'll post something explaining the reason for it. But some members here are transforming their so called frustration with this forum with absolutely lame forum trolling of the worst kind - and someone who behaves like that has NO reason to complain about anything related to a forum or community. Some members here should be glad they are able to post a "good bye thread" instead of just being banned.

PS3 or Wii?

I belive the selling numbers for the Wii pretty much rest this case. Plus the problems people are having with their PS3s overheating, blacking out and not turning on again (like the xbox used to do), HD only working after applying a PATCH, almost no retro-compatibility, 2.0 rated line up games... Plus from what I've played of the Wii, there is NO reason for getting a PS3 now. No reason.

Played the Wii a lot, watched the Video Game Pianist perform, that was a good geeky weekend.

I wasn't able to post yesterday, but here it is. Me at the official Nintendo Wii release party for Brazil. Ahh, so good to have the right contacts.

I've got to play WiiSports Tennis and Baseball. It was absolutely wonderful to play. Didn't play Zelda because I wanna avoid spoilers, and forgot to play Excitetruck.

So my answer is. Wii. You guys just have no idea how fun it is.
