Return of the Jedi: the worst OT film?

Speaking of watching Jedi again, those 3 "annoyances" I listed in the OP? I don't find them as annoying now as I did then. Must've been in a bad mood that day, huh? Mon does seem slightly saddened by the news she's delivering, Palpy does sound sarcastic on second thought, and whatever with Palpy's Force lightning.

Also, I think Han has some impressive foot strength. He managed to hold Lando and himself on to the barge using... only one foot I think. :/ (Hey! I was being sarcastic! Didn't you realize?)

chewie was holding his feet. and skyjedi for ur info, the jedi temple was featured in the 1997 version. i heard no 'weesa free'. i heard 'yahoo!' that is one of the best parts of the movie. i like ewoks, but i can't stand that 'yup, yup" crap.

and the redone ending makes so much more sense then the original.

I have to take issue with that, because I think it doesn't make any sense.

If you are referring to a younger Anakin put in the ghost scene, that totally dispels the point of ROTJ.  ROTJ is about the redemption of Darth Vader, and how the older Anakin, is conflicted thoughout the movie, and finally saves his son by killing the Emperor.  By showing an older Anakin standing there next to an older ObiWan, you see the character come full circle, as his redemption is complete.

By changing the ending in the SE with Hayden in the ghost scene, Lucas says that Anakin died on Mustafar, which would totally contradict ROTJ since it was the OLDER Anakin who was conflicted, it was the older Anakin who killed the Emperor, and the OLDER Anakin who tells Luke, "Tell your sister you were right...."

By saying Anakin & Vader are two different people misses the point of ROTJ because they are ONE person the whole time, and even though he went by Darth Vader throughout the OT, there was always was that part of Anakin, the good guy that never left.

Even Lucas doesn't even understand the original story he wrote back in 1983, just so he could stick some gimmick in the 2004 DVD's and try to tie the trilogies together.

that part i don't care about, i just meant the celebration scenes on bespin, tatooine, naboo and coruscant. it gave the non EU fans a look at the aftermath for those planets.

They are moving upwards, AND forwards. That's why they get pushed back into their seats.

I still disagree with the up move. Anyways.

I did a really quick & dirty edit of that particular moment, and in my eyes, the ship staying straight looks really silly.

Straight To Lightspeed

...I just started using Sony Vegas, so be kind. :)

looks like lando's doing a new dance! :)

How does one get permission to use Vader's Personal Elevator?  How could Vader be caught unawares if his wall dings that someone is headed down to see him?  Just playing devil's advocate here (and I really like the hallway idea).

That one is easy: it's like the "basement" button in the Arkham Asylum elevator in BATMAN BEGINS.  Only someone with the password or the key can unlock the button and use it, whereupon when someone uses it an automatic signal is sent to Vader in his chamber (so he knows someone is coming).

Also in regards to Vader's chamber, I would personally choose the elevator with airlock.  Vader doesn't have to be 2 feet away from the bridge, being that with an elevator or hallway he could still be anywhere from 1 to 10 levels below the bridge and still within the command tower.  I think the "privacy" factor is a more pertinent reason to change the background behind Piett than anything else.

Also also remember that when Luke took off the helmet in JEDI, the front face mask was still in place, which means Vader would still be using his mechanical breathing apparatus to... well, breath.

EDIT - it looks like the front IS attached to the rest of the helmet, as you can kind of see here (you can see it better when watching the movie):

I agree, the mask should stay on but the helmet should be lowered even if it does make out that Vader is a really lazy git for not using his hands (maybe the helmet needs to be locked onto the collar and mask, Luke does take some time removing it in ROTJ).

I don't know that he could lower it properly by himself. The EU explains that he could barely lift his hands over his head, and seeing how the suit restrains him, makes sense.

it also says is body is limited due to his burns. apparently some of his bones are week from the surgery and he can still feel the pain of the burns due to the heat in his suit.

Thrawn or Xizor

I remember Xizor as a little annoying. I felt that he looked and sounded like a villain cliché: You know a reptilian bad guy named Xizor... right... good for an episode of the Thundercats, but for Star Wars? Let's say I was not very impressed.

u should hear wat he sounds like in forces of corruption. he sounds really unconditioned. he more reminded me of a timid little kid.
