[use the] scene in AOTC where anakin just takes off on the swoop bike from the lars homestead and [is] speeding along the terrain in the twilight, replace anakin with luke.

Something like this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkBlpvFUjzg

yea something like that. some of that might work good in the revisited edition, except for the first part. no offense.

vaderios. i gotta a couple of mock ups u can do. i've always assumed luke got to jabba's palace by a swoop bike. why don't u take the scene where the it shows the huge shot of jabbas palace and the droids are visisble in te bottom corner, take out the droids and put luke on a speeder bike coming up to the palace.

second, that scene in AOTC where anakin just takes off on the swoop bike from the lars homestead and his speeding along the terrain in the twilight, replace anakin with luke.

up for a challenge? i'd be thrilled if u could do this. :)

I think Owen may have thought that Anakin should have stayed with him and Anakin's step-father and help them out with the moisture farm, after all Cliegg was married to Anakin's mother making Anakin a part of the Lars family and Cliegg even lost his leg looking for Shimi after the Sand People kidnapped her, Anakin could have been a big help for Cliegg and Owen on the farm.

i had referenceded this in my first response. but you know, i think its a load of crap, "i can't go out again, 'til i heal!" BS!!! he says he really loved her! just go, i'm srry but he seems like a cowards to me.

I actually have a decent idea (if it hasnt been stated yet) the shot could open outside bens house and have lukes xwing sitting outside it. or have the ship flying over tattoined and landing by bens house. Of course if you read the first 5 pages of Shadows of the empire the whole gang is at ben's house. Hmmm of course we could say fuggit and let luke be alone. Of course that will be a bitch to pull of. We would have to use existing scenes. could we even add obi wan to the shot telling him about how vader is his father. of coursse we need to see yoda die.

Ideas like yours have been discussed before (scroll back to page 20) here was my take:

Ben Hut Ghost

in the novel, luke says he found old instructions in obi-wans case deal on how to buil a lightsaber. that's how he got the green one. and that was actually the first part of the book. R2 was with luke while everyone prepared.

something else that might be cool to add his like him on a speeder bike on his way to the palace. kinda like anakin, just not so dramatic.

There are only two good ways to deal with Fett in ROTJ:

1) Make him more involved with the story, like the idea where, using AOTC or fan-shot footage with a screen-accurate costume, Fett leaves Jabba's before the Sarlacc scene and sells the Death Star II plans to the Rebels (the implication being the Emperor himself hired Fett to do this to lure the Rebels into his trap)

Or, my personal favorite:

2) GET RID OF HIM ENTIRELY!!!  As it is, he doesn't need to be in ROTJ at all.  He's entirely pointless.  He's there just to die in the most pussified way known to man.

So either make him more important to the story, or get rid of him.

there's also the theory i have. have luke cut off his head. like father like son huh?

Ah, I should have done that.  Give me a minute LOL

EDIT: The difference isn't noticable enough between all the previews to justify it.

EDIT2: Aw, heck with it, I already did all the work!

you know, the gout looks better then the 2004 edition.

Whatever the intention ESB feels like a span of a few days at most. Wasn't the whole point of going to cloud city that it was relatively close to where they were?

LEIA: What did you have in mind for your next move?

HAN: Well, if they follow standard Imperial procedure, they'll dump
their garbage before they go to light-speed, then we just float away.

LEIA: With the rest of the garbage. Then what?

HAN: Then we've got to find a safe port somewhere around here. Got any
ideas?

There's really nothing in the movie to indicate a great passage of time. Maybe they should have done a token 80's training montage?

AH! but you for got one line from Han, "Bespin is pretty far but i think we can make it"

Let me set this straght here.

Obi-Wan, of course, is a treasure trove of information in SW:

"I haven't gone by the name 'Obi-Wan' since, oh, before you were born."

Not literally true, but basically true. When he goes into hiding, there are only a few people throughout the galaxy who know his

real name, so I don't think this is contradictory. << OKAY

"[The Force] is an energy field, created by all living things. It penetrates us, surrounds us, binds the galaxy together."

True. The omission of midichlorians in this description doesn't alter the nature of the Force. << AGAIN OK

"Your father wanted you to have this [lightsaber] when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it."

A jedi, upon knighthood, is given the choice to create his or her own lightsaber. A lightsaber being handed down to a padawan

from a jedi knight is an honor. And OWK was prolly right, Anakin would've wanted luke to have it. And if you think its not the same

one, recall after the duel in revenge of the sith, OWK picks up anakins saber before he walks away.

"[Uncle Owen] didn't hold your father's ideals - he thought he should have stayed behind and not gotten involved."

For that matter, Padme didn't hold Anakin's ideals - Anakin belived in the idea of a benevolent dictatorship. <<Correct, but uncle

owen would feel that way about anakin after he met him for that first time. and i'm sure he thought anakin was stupid to abandon

his mother for the jedi order. owen saw her lifestyle and prolly thought he should have stayed and took care of her.

Princess Leia refers to some recent galactic history:

(to Obi-Wan) "Years ago, you served my father in the Clone Wars."

Bail organa was a senator. he , like padme, were one of the senators who were against the war and all the chancelor's proposals.

He kept in close contact with the Jedi Order as he saw them as the only form of gov't not corrupted. why wouldn't he help Organa

in the war? He doesn't necesarily have to be a Jedi general.

From ESB,  Obi-Wan directs Luke to the Dagobah system:

"There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."

I don't see what problem you have with this. Yoda trained OWK for a few years until Qui-Gon reached knighthood. then, i'm sure

yoda taught him more. Here's a reference of the Phantom Menace, "But master yoda told me to be mindful of the future,".

Yoda and Obi-Wan discuss Luke's potential:

-"You are reckless!" (didn't he mean, "Reckless, are you!"?)

-"So was I, if you'll remember."

I understand wat you mean with the firstpart, but OWK prolly was reckless before knighthood. as a padawan he prolly was a screw up and tried things on his own. Not to mention OWK went against all the Jedi and the code to protect Anakin from being expelled from the order.

Even in the prequels, Boba Fett is not a clone
Time

okay now. i don't see why we need to get two actors to look alike when they're at different ages. as c3px said, its

filmmaking. now, in attack of the clones, when obi-wan is talking to the kamino prime minister, the minister said, "He only

asked for one thing in return. An unaltered clone for himself." Its your view point, however i don't see how u can use actors as

proof that they aren't clones when they're only characters in a movie.

I am against the ROTJ Lando dies big story changes. I know it's your version of course, I would definitely wanna watch and see what you have in mind, but I would hope big time there would be a purist version too. New effects and polishes are fine, but major story changes it's hard for me to live with. If it wouldn't be too much trouble to have both versions that would be great! I would beg and plead for a purist version.

So my hope of ESB:R being done by Christmas 2009 are dashed?

i agree. lando dying doesn't fit into my imagination. i'd just feel lost if that part of the story changed. so if you do kill off lando, create a purist verison like sev said. /\ /\

The Idea of just ending ROTS with anikan burning in the flames is just too good. We dont really need flashbacks but it would help tie in the PT to the OT. But still how do we remedy the whole vader was a pupil of mine and was suduced by the darkside thing. If we did dreams with anikan. We could just add shots of vader swinging his saber about through the home of padme. and add screams. But leave the anikan padme scream out of return of the jedi. Their is enough tension in that scene alone and plus we by that time know what is going through his mind and we know what happened to him by the simple line. Noooo I am your father. that already clears it all up. But still that scene in A New Hope were Obi Wan said vader was a pupil of mine until he was suduced by the darkside. We could though look at it from the shakespeare aspect of irony in which you know what the character doesnt know. for instance Luke does not know that vader is his father and obi is hiding that from him but YOU know it. Hell if romeo and juliet can pull that off and be one of the masterpieces of all time then why not. So you know who vader is obi wan knows who vader is but luke does not know who vader REALLY IS until he reveals with the line "I am your father" you see and luke really doesnt know it. Even obi wan admits in ROTJ that he lied to protect Luke and Leia from the Emperor and Vader. It works and still makes sense. But ROTS ending with anikan in the flames really pumps things up with a what is gonna happen next and A New Hope you find out hes mean and in a black suit.

i think flashbacks would be cool. when i watch that scene, i just think back on how sweet a kid he used to be and how that little boy could become something so evil. and i got teary eyed when the ewok died. i don't wanna see anymore of that. :(

It's not even certain that Corpsey actually dies and we should feel upset when people get killed in battles.

The problem with ROTJ is that it tries so hard to be a happy jolly upbeat ending with all the loose ends tied off that it feels fake.

No victory is ever complete, not all the good guys win, not all the bad guys lose.

Star Wars is a fantasy but even myths have a bitter sweetness to their endings, Arthur must be taken to Avalon, Robin Hood must die, Lando and the Falcon should go bang.

hey. corpsey and those other ewoks are cute and its sad. its like a big teddy bear for a pet. how would u feel if that was ur dog, uh?
