[I] think it would be cool to do something like when [in ROTS] the republic cruiser comes [alongside] of grevious' ship, they start firing...and shoot the crap out of each other.
[In] the novel, it talks about blockade runners, [when] after [their] engines are gone, making suicide runs into the stardestroyers!

hey davnes, did u look on my posts about the comaprisons between ROTS ROTJ space battles? i'd like to see u make something out of it.

Yes, I did, but I'm not sure my current skills are quite up to the task. Besides stealing some footage from ROTS, I'm not sure what I could do, really. However, any thoughts you have about that, or any other footage that I could use would be gladly accepted. :)

with the blockade runner deal, there is the scene where the tie fighter crashes into the bridge, maybe u can substitute the tie for the blockade runner. the bridge would need to fall off or something. i can't find the clip on youtube, but in the movie star shiptroopers, there is a scene where and asteroid is coming at a cruiser, it knocks the bridge off. that's wat i picture. if u can find the clip and look at it maybe that'll give u something to work with.

on boba, in the novel, it says he used his flamethrower to get himself out sense his jetpack was damaged. only scene i can think of him using a flamethrower is jango in AOTC. Then u could just take lines out of jangos/boba's scenes. "Solo! your dead" (boba lines ESB) lands on sand "Arrgh" (jango line AOTC).

i'd do it all myself, unfortunatly one of my computers won't run it and the one i'm on now says my system's too fast for the software. heck if i know what that means.

Poll: ROTJ Celebration Themes - 1983 or 1997?

wow. hot topic.

Here's what I think:

what makes the Undestroyed RotJ ending so uplifting is that it shows the Skywalker family re-united and reconciled, and at the same time, appeals to religious beliefs about redemption and forgiveness.

It's not the various sites of people celebrating in the ending that puts a smile on my face,

It's when Leia runs up and hugs the Brother who she just learned she had returning safely to her, and Luke sees his father as the man he would have been at peace and reconciled with Obi-Wan and Yoda, smiling proudly and happily at him.

I don't think the rebels problems are over after RotJ, but they're definately one GIANT step closer to becoming so. but in the meantime, the MAIN plot point about the trilogy, The Skywalker family, has it's story wrapped up perfectly, and I get a genuine fealing of closure, in that there's nothing more that can be effectively done with those characters.

(and yes, I've felt that way about the Trilogy before the Photoshop program used to create the "prequels" was even blueprinted at adobe)

yes this is a hot topic. though, again i like the hayden being added but watever is chosen is fine. i do have to say though, that they did a nice job making him look a little older. shoul've put grey hair on him. at least a little anyway.

as i mentioned earlier with the ROTS ROTJ comparison, the Endor space battle needs to be more intense! in the novel, it talks about blockade runners, after they're engines are gone, making suicide runs into the stardestroyers! wat parts i don't care! That just sounds crazy!

btw, if anyone here wants to talk about BF anymore. i had an idea if someone wants to make it up. have a scene where bobba flies out of the sarlac pit and says some vengful remarks about solo.

One of the flaws with Anakin turning to the darkside...

It's true that as early as AOTC Annie was not a nice guy. You might understand him killing some Tuskens after his mother's death (though it would be risking a turn to the dark side if he did it out of anger), but killing Tusken KIDS is something else entirely. That shows he wasn't a good guy, as does his support for dictatorship. In the OT Lucas gave us the impression that Anakin was a good guy who got turned evil. Clearly he revised that part of the story for the PT when he turned Annie into an asshole who became more of an asshole.

i believe it was Obi-Wan telling us about anakin in the OT. Anikan never told Obi-Wan about the event with the tuskens. so Obi-Wan said Anakin was a good man even though he didn't hear about the tusken slaughter.

That still doesn't fix it up. It wasn't just some view of Obi Wan. It was the picture the OT was giving us of Anakin. We weren't supposed to say "This is Obi Wan's view. Maybe he didn't know everything." We were supposed to assume Obi Wan knew what he was talking about and thus get the idea that Anakin was a good man. Lucas and Kasdan were giving us the message that Anakin was a a good man originally. Obi Wan was just the mouthpiece they used in communicating with us.

The argument that it was just Obi Wan's view is just an excuse made to fix up Lucas's prequels mess, and I don't agree with making excuses to hide his prequel mess. The OT clearly told us that Anakin was a good man and the prequels went against that, major fuck up due to Lucas revising his story and turning Anakin into a jerk. You can bet Anakin wasn't a jerk in Lucas's original story or Lucas wouldn't have had Kenobi give us the impression he was a good guy.

i guess he did know of him killing the younglings. however, why would Obi-wan tell luke the truth.

"Hey Luke ur father was a good man! he slaughter little kids!"

besides, i think in the OT we didn't have as big a grasp on how evil the darkside really was.

When I first saw the SE in 1997, I remember the new ending really hit me. It just felt so right. The music was happy, but sad at the same time. Which to me, fit the whole idea of the end of a huge battle where many friends were lost, a bittersweet moment.

Since then, I have come to dislike the SE greatly, and don't want to have anything to do with it, expect for that one scene. I still felt the music was a vast improvement over Yub Nub.

However... just now I watched that youtube clip of the 2004 ending, and was blown away by how amazingly, mind boggling awful it was. Then I went back and checked out the 1997 version, and thought it was brilliant. Other than the obvious changes, I can't pin down a difference between the two, but the 1997 version just really works for me while the 2004 irks the crap out of me. Just rewatched the 83 version too, and still feel Yub Nub is total shit (except when Craig Kilborn* sings it, then it is the shit!).

So, B for me.

Also, is it just me, or is the appearance of Naboo just one too many planets? I think we need a shot of Hoth, with two or three wampas feeding on a tauntaun carcass, blood smeared all over their faces, followed by a shot of Alderan's debree field. Hope these scenes get included in the SE 3.0, I think they'll add a much needed sense of completeness to the ending of ROTJ.

*Craig Kilborn version found here ---> http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2007/03/yub_nub.html

Incidentally, the link also includes an English translation of Yub Nub, something I had no idea existed. Pretty crazy stuff. Some really weird stuff happened to my brain while reading them. Now that I know the words to the song, I realize how unbelieveable powerful it is, and see why it is necessary that this remains the true ending to the Star Wars trilogy. In fact, realizing I have gone my entire life without ever reading these lyrics, and not knowing them by heart, I no longer feel worthy to call myself a Star Wars fan, and will therefore be leaving ot.com forever. Farewell guys.

i feel the exact same way when i see that ending. That special edition shot was the best thing they added. The

music was perfect and i always feel the emotion as the song carries on. i'm not sure wat the difference is btween

the '97 and the '04 is.

i don't like it. srry. but, i was watching ROTS and ROTJ,  and looked at the two space battles, coruscant and endor. i noticed a couple of things. One, i think it would be cool to do something like when the republic cruiser comes along the side of grevious' ship, they start firing at each other and shoot the crap out of each other. i think that would be a cool edition to put in.

also, i noticed that when the death star first fires, when it hits the Mon calamari cruiser, it blows up, but u can see the model is still there. any ideas on how to fix that?

Star Wars is for children. Adults: Stop being selfish.
Time

george put the kiddy stuff in there for the kids. he left the limb losing and laser blasts be for adults. when i watched Qui-Gon get stabbed through the gut by Maul, i was a kid and freaked the hell out. Same with obi-wan slicing him in half. Hell, i thought the ROTS was pretty graphic and i was sixteen when i saw that. still freaky to see a scene like that in a star wars film.

...i've always assumed luke got to jabba's palace by a swoop bike...

[use the] scene in AOTC where anakin just takes off on the swoop bike from the lars homestead and [is] speeding along the terrain in the twilight, replace anakin with luke.

Something like this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkBlpvFUjzg

yea something like that. some of that might work good in the revisited edition, except for the first part. no offense.

lol...yeah, I guess pasting the head on could been done better.
