Is it just me or are the colours REALLY looking better ?

The problem is that I haven't seen the 2004 version since ... probably 2004 :-)

Lightsabers contain crystals..made of different colors that can change at any given time...its like light going thru a diamond and the diamond putting out different colors of the spectrum. A red lightsaber crystal can diminish overtime in color like a glass would lose its shine or a dirty crystal.

The lightsaber crystal in Vaders saber in the PT was somewhat red in the edges. How do you know he didn't change or found a more pink crystal and put it into his lightsaber in 30 years? The color of the crystal could have faded also.

The deleted scenes and documentaries i do want.  But i don't want the special editions the ruined versions from 2004 even further ruined or the prequels.

I do want the oot and the 1997 special edition, but would settle for just the oot.

I would even be fine with just Lucas scanning his technicolor print of sw 77 and releasing it barebones with no extras except the 3 sound mixes.

As for empire and jedi there are no dye transfer prints so i am not so sure what the best quality existing prints are.

The ONLY reason why I'm buying the new set are the deleted scenes from the OT. Which is kinda sad

The Blu-Ray Full Trailer is avaiable in 1080p resolution. Could that mean, we are getting the Deleted Scenes in HD? How do you judge the resolution quality of the Deleted Scenes in the trailer? Is it SD upscaled for the trailer?

What would you say, if I would leave Droids completely to you (I can provide you with a PAL -> NTSC conversion of Fritz's Great Heap capture) and I will concentrate on Ewoks, what would you say ?

But yes, it can be considered both :-)

In other words - it is longer, so the part of it was NEW, but that makes the whole sequence an ALTERED scene .

In my previous post with "ALTERED" I meant something like "visually different, but with the same length"

Well, the 2004 DVDs didn't include any czech dub because it was explicitly forbidden (at least that was the official distributor's "excuse", I don't know if it's true or not)

I am talking about NEW scenes, not ALTERED scenes. When the 2004 DVDs were released here, they had only subtitles so I added to them the czech dub from the 1997 SE VHS tapes and these are the only 2 scenes, where I remember I had to "improvize" a bit. But my memory is far from perfect :-)

OK guys I don't believe these are the same edits (I'm talking about the original trilogy) which were used for the 2004 DVDs.

A new czech dub was created for these BluRay release, because "it contains NEW scenes". The last czech dub was created for the 1997 SE and the only "new" scenes which I remember from the 2004 DVDs were the new Emperor from TESB and the short "We'sa free" from ROTJ. So either these 2 short scenes were a reason why a new dub of the complete trilogy was created, or these movies will include new scenes (again). And there is the old rumour about the digital Yoda in TPM ...

But definitely, we will be SURE which cuts are on the discs VERY soon :-)

I have now received VideoCollector's captures and today I got from him also the intro and ending of Droids.

Now since I am able to work on this forever (does somebody still remember my Star Wars project from cca 2004 ? ) I think I need a serious deadline.

MY PLAN :

Droids version 1.0

DVD 1 - Droids episodes 1-4

DVD 2 - Droids episodes 5-9

DVD 3 - The Great Heap

DVD 4 - Droids episodes 10-13

all episodes re-created from best sources I currently have (E1-8 + E10-13 + Great Heap- Fritz' VHS capture, I will try to remove all frame blending and other problems, E9 NTSC "ontherunvideo.com")

Ewoks version 1.0

probably 7-8 DVDs consisting of what Fritz sent me

DEADLINE : September 2011 - I really want to have this one ready in the same time as the official BluRay boxset gets released

This "version 1.0" will appear on myspleen.

Version 2.0

will be done using best available source for  every episode (ringwraith & retardeded - I'm looking in your way :-) )

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS ?

For me the most important thing will be to set the deadline. ANY deadline. Because as I wrote originally, we could end up doing this project forever :-)

So, what do you think ?

My copy comes from the EditDroid set and  it has the lightsaber BLUE.
