On my PAL discs they were not even subtitled !
On my PAL discs they were not even subtitled !
I'm watching the show chronologically (which means I'm at the middle of Season 13 of classic show) and I'd say that a HUGE number of episodes of the old series are/were not suitable for children.
4k? Meesa beeing happysa
OMG somebody REALLY thought that effect was acceptable? UFOs in Ed Wood movies look more realistic
Well these are some great news, I hope the capture will be a success
War of the Stars is brilliant. I love how bloody it is, just as George's original script was. Love its dark humour too
Marina is actually a good actress, but most of her scenes are actually cut. It's funny but her best performances can be found on the TNG deleted scenes :)
Well it took me a LONG time to see a shower in the picture :) It looks like a wheelchair guy is hunting a Dalek and a man and a one legged woman are watching it :)
Looks great, I hope somebody will "spleen" it one day :)
Wow, I never wrote my list? I thought I did. So ....
1997 A New Hope
- the new Fox logo
- dewbacks (even when I think they're overused)
- the new sandcrawler model
- the rebel fleet leaving Yavin 4 next to Lorne, but I HATE the next shot
- I have a feeling that I like some of the trench battle shots, but I'm not willing to re-watch it just to make a list
2004 ANH
- the Jabba scene (I'm probably the only person on this planet who likes it)
- the corrected cellblock matte painting
2011 ANH
- I hate this shit, I've seen it once and I never plan to watch it again
1997 ESB
- the new Fox logo
- the new wampa scenes - I LOVE them ! I was always hoping they add the whole subplot, but at least they added the shots which explain what actually happened to Luke
- I can't decide about the Cloud City shots - while I like what they TRIED to do, the actual execution looks pretty poor to behonest
2004 ESB
- can't remember ANY improvement
2011 ESB
- I hate it
1997 ROTJ
- the new Fox logo
- the new Sarlacc - it FINALLY doesn't look like a butthole! But the rest of the scene is still as stupid as it always was
2004 ROTJ
- nothing
2011 ROTJ
- nothing
2001 TPM
- nothing
2011 TPM
- the colour correction on most scenes, and the better cropping
200x AOTC
- nothing
2011 AOTC
- nothing
2006(?) ROTS
- nothing
2011 ROTS
- just the tiny fact that this is the first time a theatrical VIDEO was released on home video
Your player will always read the correct aspect ratio from the file header. Meaning if the AR will be set to 4:3 your DVD player will show the picture as 4:3 independently from the actual dimensions of the video.
What lines? Do you mean interlacing lines or what? I downloaded the sample but I didn't see any problem
Please no reboots :-( What about an Enterprise sequel about the Romulan war? An CGI animated TOS sequel which will join TOS and TPM? What about a new 24th century series about Riker's USS Titan? What about a movie/series version of the Countdown comic? Something which will join the old universe with JJverse?
No space left? Does it by any chance crash after unpacking 4GBs? I unfortunately don't know what error code 5 is, so I'm guessing, but the last time I had a "no space left" error message was when I was trying to unpack something on an external drive formated as FAT32 :)
And what about this pic?
Check the floor on which Vader is standing
Wasn't this thread about the rumoured Bluray release of the OT?
Really? I can't see any vaporators on the right side
Well I did something similar for the OT, but I never shared it because I never really finished it. I however didn't dare to clean the deleted scenes.
The image you posted looks pretty good, but is the sky copied and pasted from a different source? Because you covered up all the moisture vaporators!

Anniversaries are typically celebrated on the date something makes it's debut.
Well it depends ...
A lot of people consider this year to be the 50th anniversary.
The Cage was made in 1964, Where No Man Has Gone Before was made in 1965, but yes, the first season was made in 1966
What's the exact error message? Also did you type in the password or did you just highlighted it in your browser and pasted it? Because if you've done it this way you could e.g. copy an additional space or line break after the password
I have absolutely no news
I think CBS has done a TERRIBLE mistake NOT to release a standalone Bluray of The Cage this year - you know, the nice new transfer, seamless branching between the original and the CGI effects, a new audio commentary by Leonard Nimoy and the Okudas, a feature-length documentary, deleted scenes, bloopers .... It's Star Trek's 50 anniversary this year for Shatner's sake!

^Nope. Very little from the DVD's was even ported over. They had to make space for all the Robot Chicken parodies somehow! ;)
Very little = nothing. I don't remember ANYTHING from the DVDs being ported to the Blus - but the truth is the only thing I've seen more than once were the deleted scenes :)
Thanks guys, so I hope I have the "relatively correct" version :-)
Jim Kirk - did you ever think about using XBMC/Kodi? It should be available for apple devices too (I'm not sure on what are you trying to watch it that it doesn't support mkv)
