Another really boring episode. That’s the problem of the show. They’re trying to be kid friendly and as a result most of the episodes are just boring.
The movies are crap. But highly enjoyable crap if you’re in the correct mood.
I absolutely loved the Tim Burton movies as a kid. I hated the 2 later movies. I have seen the first Dark Knight movie and thought it’s extremely boring. I have never managed to see the other new Batnam movies
Never. I was talking about his plans when he started to shoot the original film. It was meant to be much more bloody, as you can see in the early scripts, novel, storyboards etc. Some of his violent ideas were dropped before he got to the final script, some of them were only storyboarded, some of them were actually shot but cut out (like the alien in the cantina which was originally to be sliced into pieces).
They are ALMOST the theatrical cuts, but there are some small changes.

I dont know what version you watched, but the only blood I recall is Walrus-Man in the Cantina. The key difference being, it was a creature, a monster, not a human being. Thats why they could get away with it and not get an R rating. In the ANH, they never showed the actual action, only the aftermath e.g. the Beru/Owen skeletons. Had they shown the actual killing and burning, or the action of the sabre slicing off his arm, then it wouldve garnered an R rating most likley. Whose head exploded in ANH? WHose arm was pulled off in ANH? When I stated that it was aimed at kids, I was refrring to ANH specifically, not the later movies. Once ANH became a sucess, George was able to be a bit more liberal in the next films. He probably figured he should appeal to a broader demograph for more sucess. Had the PG-13 rating been around back then, ESB and ROTJ probably wouldve recieved a PG-13 rating.
I am talking about his “original vision”. We know that the first movie was planned to be much, MUCH more brutal. Some of the brutal scenes were shot, some of them were only planned, and even those who WERE shot were either edited down for the 1977 release or censored in the 1997 version.
Let’s be perfectly honest - he didn’t want to do a kids film. But he was forced to because he had the rights to the merchandise stuff.

The colours are just fantastic. Seeing the comparisons makes you realize that the Blu-ray colour correction was done either by colour-blind people or by people who just didn’t care.
I personally think that there is no need to release v3.0 of all of the films at once - simply because SW v2.5 really needs an update and there is more demand for Despecialiazed SW than for ESB and ROTJ (mainly because this film is the most altered). Also, v3.0 of SW will be the biggest leap because apparently a bunch of new sources became available. But that’s just my humble opinion, of course it depends on Harmy and the rest of the community.
Anyway, really looking forward to v2.5 of ROTJ and all other future releases, thank you Harmy!

So - I see that most of the stuff I liked as a kid (the Ewok movies, the Droids and Ewoks cartoons) are not on the canon list. Quite sad. Though it’s still in my personal canon.

Wait so the old Clone Wars cartoon isn’t suddenly canon? Why? Source ? To be honest I enjoyed it much more than the CGI show and the prequels. It works perfectly as an intro to Episode 3.

Well we’re talking about an American seeing the movie in the early 70’s. So there are not too many options.
Is here somebody capable of re-creating the original opening crawl so that it matches the edited version which can be found on the Rinzler ebook?
Or you can do it like me. I ripped all my Trek DVDs and Blurays to mkv. I’m watching everything from external hard discs and the original discs are safe untouched on the shelf
