Interview with Gary Kurtz (very good - from 2002 at IGN)
Time

2019 Edit: The above link to the interview sadly no longer works. However, the interview can be found in an archived format, via the Internet Archive’s WayBack Machine, here:-

Cheers for the link - that is one interesting interview, not only on SW but film in general.

I was surprised about GL’s change of direction for Jedi after working on the IJ films - would be most intriguing to hear more of the original premise for Jedi.

Some very good points re the 97 Special Editions from someone so close to SW - does make you wonder if Kurtz has told GL what he thinks of certain changes…

^ lol.

Considering GL likes to hit the audience over the head with his moral crusades - deathsticks and Han & Greedo shooting etc - it's pretty lame of him to infer that if you don't live a good life that you'll live forever as a young bloke in his prime if you go off the rails as it were...

I don't think anyone has used that version of the Union Flag since around 1801 - oh my, the sad history geek in me has emerged!

Hal 9000 - where did find that pic, m8?

I'm not sure about having you lot back under UK control - we'd have to get you to spell properly, win at golf (ahem, sorry ), play football - and not call it soccer etc. Though you'd soon get pissed off with Blair and his false statements and broken promises and want some independence again...

At the moment the cost of getting there from the UK is putting me off a little - is it cheap to eat, drink and get a decent hotel room - was thinking of visiting Sao Paulo or Rio.

Any help most appreciated

Depends on the game. If you want to see an international match, it's about R$80 (cheapest seat) to R$120, that's US$28.60 to US$42.90, maybe more depending on where the game is or where you're seated - last time I went to see a game, it was Brazil vs Bolivia, and I payed R$80 to the cheapest seat. If you want to see a regular soccer championship game, it depends on where you're going to be seated. A ticket in the upper seats is usually around 10 to 15 (3.6 to 5.4 dollars), but I really DONT recomend getting those seats, as they are usually used by hardcore, hooligan like fans. I'd recomend a lower, closer to the field seat, which would cost something around... I dont know, maybe R$50 or R$60, about 18 to 20 dollars. So, avoid at all costs seating in the so called "GERAL" seats. Do not buy the ticket on the streets, buy it on the authorized selling points. Usually the traveling agencies buy tickets to tourists and take them to the stadiums, but I don't know how much they charge.

Yes, things are quite cheap over here. In Rio, things a little bit more expensive as it's a touristic city. I'm not so sure what you could do over here in Sao Paulo, as it's NOT a touristic city at all, so I'd recomend coming to Brazil only if you are one of those travellers who enjoy getting lost, doing stuff all by themselves, and visiting weird, different places, and enjoy traveling around with nothing more than a backpack and a tourist guide in an adventurous kinda way. If you are the "tour bus guide"kinda tourist, you'll probably not enjoy it.

Cheers for the info, m8 - will be talking it over with the missus very shortly - see just how much she wants to come with me... lol

DanB - just found out that if you order online you only get the normal silver boxset. Only going to the store itself will get you the black boxset - which may prove a little difficult/expensive unless you've managed to find somewhere in Oz that does 'em too...

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs
Time
Once again - great work MeBeJedi

I look forward to the day when your letterbox and anamorphic versions of the OT join my TR47 Letterbox and Dr Gonzo Anamorphic versions on my dvd shelf.

It should make the designers who do great work on the DVD covers here fret a little though - perhaps you'll all have individual logos that can be copied and pasted onto the covers- to identify the different sets?
