It's opening crawl:-
For a thousand generations, the Galactic Republic has thrived under the guidance of the Jedi Knights. But now, even under the semblance of peace, a crisis stirs.
The Nemoidian Trade Federation, outraged by the prohibition of slave labor in core systems, has seized the peaceful planet of Naboo with a blockade of deadly warships.
While the Senate's endless rhetoric drowns Naboo's cries for justice, Chancellor Valorum has secretly dispatched two Jedi Knights to resolve the conflict...

* = Chapter Stop Titles taken from Hal9000's excellent DVD Inserts
IMHO they have both been edited and put together extremely well - there are no jarring edited scenes which stick out. The picture and sound quality are that of DVD standard (which is what both MF Edits were sourced from).
Lines of dialogue changes, alien's voice dubbing, subtitle changes - which alter the story somewhat, length of scenes, musical score changes, sound effects changes, the re-arranging of certain scenes, scene omissions and insertion of deleted scenes all feature in both films.
These MagnoliaFan Edits keep the Prequel Trilogy (so far) more in-keeping with the Original Trilogy in terms of the feel and pace of the films.
There are various fan/home-made DVD covers to go with the MFE releases.
MagnoliaFan is planning an MF Edit of Star Wars: Episode III – ‘Revenge Of The Sith’, though obviously this will not happen for some time...
More details of the changes made in both Edits can be found in the very 1st post - in here:-

Originally posted by: Darth Ekul there is a fan re-edit of AOTC?? i didnt know about this or that 1 even existed. i was aware of the TPM MagFan 1.2 reedit. hey, MF .... how much would it cost to get the reedits of TPM and AOTC from you? thanks
Darth Ekul - you may need to turn your PMs on - you can do so by clicking on 'profile'.
I like your website m8 - and the screencaps really show what we are going to be in for.
Would it be worthwhile creating a new thread with a bit of very basic info and then a link to your website? - it does get difficult for us regulars to keep up with the latest news in a 96 page thread full of differing and often confusing versions - let alone any new posters - some many not even be aware you are doing a set...
Looking forward to seeing even more covers than have been posted on here over the past few months
Is it worth considering putting 'Letterbox Widescreen' after the TR47 bit and 'Anamorphic Widescreen' after Dr Gonzo - may certainly help anyone not aware of the differencses.
I think a couple of the posters there may be under the impression that we ALL hate the PT, want GL dead, despise the 97SEs and can't comprehend why some people here like the MagnoliaFan Edits of Ep1 and Ep2 over the the official versions.
Looks like we are all the same and have no other opinions...
Personally, I don't think anyone should feel bad about having to buy 'bootleg' copies of the PRE Special Edition Original Trilogy - after all George Lucas himself has stated on more than one occasion that these versions no longer exist.
I wouldn't even consider tham as bootlegs.
IIRC the people who have worked hard to create the various versions of the Original Trilogy are not driving around in Ferraris or planning a trip to their condos on the 'profits' of any $ or £ they receive for the discs - and nor are they funding any global terrorism or drug empires.
They are just fans with a bit of time, determination and willingness to learn on how to give people what they want - and what they deserve.
I really like the yellow sabre in TCW - the way it appears as almost flame-like is captivating.
Was surprised that some of C3P0's 'comedic' lines made it to the final MFE cut - it does seem out of place amongst the events that have just taken place in the arena.
Magnolia - I look forward to your new TCW cut - is it just TCW that you are re-doing, or is it BOTF as well?
