Lack of humanity in prequels?
Time
Seriously, I was under the impression that Padme is meant to be an intelligent woman - that has been elected Queen, was asked to stay on as she did such a great job, was then asked to be a Senator to the Republic.

Just what does it say about her (let alone just why DOES she fall for Anakin?) that she starts a relationship at a time when she is thinking of starting a family - with a Jedi who has some authority / killing issues, stares at her rather creepily and blames his 'father figure' for holding him back?

I'm only surprised that Lucas didn't have Anakin tell her that he's been having dreams that end with him and a m8 ruling the galaxy after offing all his pals/everyone he likes (or stares at) for all not having the same views as his...

Sometimes, in films good characters and actors can help iron over some the failings in the script - though Portman and Christiansen so far have failed, along with a very poorly thought-out script. I hope that Ep3 can rectify or rescue something out of it - or maybe there's a whole host of deleted scenes where their relationship is done justice.

Though I very much doubt it.

So you mean it's not part of a typical discussion which takes place on a date or start of a relationship...?

Q - what do you do for a living? have you had a good day today?

A - well, today I killed around 15 men, 12 women some children and some funny dog looking animals.

Q - wow! let's forget the pizza and movie - you've gotten me so hot I just have to have you right now! You're just the person I've been waiting for - how do you feel about getting married and having kids soon?

^ R2 - you forgot the bit where the Padme-Anakin romance blossoms, especially when Anakin tells her that he's just killed a load of Tusken Raiders - women and children included...

...that's surely the height of getting anyone to fancy you, and not only that - but marriage and kids will be on the agenda very soon.

lol - or it would be if I couldn't remember the pain and squirm factor when subjected to those 'romance' scenes

The OT Cover Repository
Time
Grisan - cool site.

Some nice covers there I've not seen before.

Perhaps you could add a bit to each page that if they are the designer of the covers they contact you can 'claim credit' for them?

Those inksaver TR47 version Inserts look the business - a shame that the text on the ANH insert runs into a rather large pic, and that a Revenge oTJ Poster is used on the Return oTJ insert.

There is a clip shown with Vader voiced by David Prowse. I believe its the scene where Vader interrogates Capt. Antilles...

David Prowse as Vader just sounds funny really. Can't imagine anyone but James Earl Jones as Vader.

Do not underestimate the power of the Scrumpy!

Anyone else who posts/visits there had this? Is it a site error? Anyone got an email add for the mf.com webmaster or board administrator? Or anyone know why I have been banned?

Yep. Congress just passed new laws. You can't back up anything you own anymore, the way the new laws are worded, even though that is illegal according to other laws (I believe). It is one big snafu. The lobbyists finally got through to some people, and Sen. Orin Hatch had something happen to him, I forget what exactly, that caused him to switch his beliefs, and he was one of the people that got the darn thing pushed through.

It is illegal to back up CDs, DVDs, rip anything from a disc (even for your own private, personal use), etc.

^ That would seem to be quite a difficult law to monitor and enforce.

Thankfully the laws in the UK allow for transference from one storage media to another - ONLY as a backup for the person who has purchased/owns the disc, tape, dvd or whatever format - of course.

This makes the case of the 28 people the BPI (British music industry PTB) are suing for downloading tracks off p2p programs a little more complex - if they have bought/own a music track or album of the downloaded material (unlikely, but possible) then I don't think they can be prosecuted...
