It’a quality idea - love the artwork, nostalgia and seeing those big laserdisc-sized covers once again 😃
The main issue for us lovers of fan-made custom art is that many of our home printers may well be too small to print a full size laserdisc cover on (a laserdisc sleeve/cover measures in at 12" inches - plus flaps), and it’s likely have to be printed on quite shiny and thick-ish card rather than the semi-glossy/glossy paper we use for dvd or blu ray covers…
It’d also use up a decent amount of printer ink at that size too.
You’d also have to decide whether to have a 24"x 12" cover - which would fold over with additional flaps - or have 2 12" x 12" covers and somehow stick them together (likely more additional flaps?) - and also if and what size you want the spine to be…
a few vinyl template covers (just for ideas) - https://www.duplication.ca/printspecs/vinyl.htm and http://www.piratespress.com/templates/12-inch-jacket/
However, if stores like Staples or photo / printer stores have the means - and are reasonably priced - then it could be an intriguing project!
It’d be certainly worth asking a few people with knowledge of laserdiscs and vinyl what type of printable card to use, how much it’d be and where to buy from - and also how best to fold and secure the covers etc
(as well as finding out how to secure the blu ray or dvd disc itself in the cover?)
Could be a lot of work to make it happen - but also a welcome challenge for someone out there 😃
