As some people have likely mentioned about watching R1, the people I associate with who don’t know who Peter Cushing was don’t seem to have realised or voiced concerns that it looked off or was CGI at all. A couple expressed surprised he was still alive as he’s been ‘around for ages’ (though they are not Hammer / Star Wars fans).

The Leia scene they did notice - likely because of they are more aware of Carrie/Leia, as well as the promo material releases of how they’d acheived it.

I thought a reflection shot of Leia in the ‘windscreen’ of the ship’s bridge saying the word ‘Hope’, and then have the camera shot swing around to show her face fully may have been pulled it all off a better (just my two penneth) - yet I still think it was done quite well.
 

A viewing of some of the R1 threads on here (and likely elsewhere) should conjure us up with the stolen data tapes provide some more info/insight.

There are a fair few different sizes and formats out there on public torrent sites. It’s not ideal - but a decent stop-gap/alternative until you get your own pc and equipment etc…

A good match that - nice one. The discart too - I think you could possibly make the Star Wars logo a little larger on the discart (so it fills the yellow label part a bit more) - but it’s difficult to tell at times to what looks better on paper and how something appears when printed onto a disc.

I have watched the fight many times, and each came to the same conclusion every other user here did. She won the fight.

Kylo who’s already seriously injured, and psychologically compromised, is quickly outmatched by Rey once she composes herself, and allows the Force to guide her actions. She disarms, injures him, and puts him on his back. He looks hurt, and totally bewildered, while she’s towering over him with her lightsaber. Then the ground splits between them.

This is how I read the scene since the first time I saw it. I also believe, this is the intented interpretation of the creators.

You obviously see it differently, even if you appear to be unique in this view.

Let’s agree to disagree.

You are referring to the sabre fight vs Ren in TFA - where he was already injured from Chewbacca’s powerful crossbow shot, was bleeding from it, also taking a hit from his sabre fight with Finn, and also felt conflicted & weak over just killing his father? In a fight in which the aim was not to kill Rey - but to bring her to Snoke… a fight in which he actually offered to be her teacher… and in which Rey was on the backfoot for nearly all of it before ‘letting the force in’…

Rey didn’t win the lightsabre fight at all… even after ‘letting the force in’ as it were - though she had gained the upper hand by scarring him & put him on his arse - yet the fight was broken up by the planet coming apart…
