What if OT. com had a physical copy request Topic?
So people can ask some one to make them a copy and discuss reimbursement through PMs?

No.

I advise reading the rules of the site - also the fan edit / fan preservation rules for the site too, and Harmy’s request and statement here - https://www.facebook.com/despecialized/.

I don’t mind people buying harmys Despecialized Edition

I am not saying this is not good becuase it isn’t at all but I don’t mind if people buy it I own all the files on my pc, The only way to get the files are through jdownloader and torrents the files are really hard to get some people don’t want to spend all day downloading files when they can pay somebody to do it for them.

Yet, those files are not really hard to get at all. And people do not spend all day downloading files - the computer does that for them.

Many people on here and on other similar sites have managed this - not just for Despecialized, but for other Fan Edits too.

I am pretty sure, many, many people out there have also managed to download illegal torrents of films, tv, music etc - without paying for them on ebay - even back in the days of 4-5kb/ps download speeds.

YouTube/Vimeo/etc... Star Wars video finds
Time

‘Star Wars Death Star Assault… FLASH GORDON STYLE!!!’…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2zYBpI2Hk0

^ lots of Brian Blessed in there 😃

‘Rogue One: The Birth of Hope’…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpSb8Y_8hr8

The blurb : ‘This video essay examines how ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ symbolically bridges the tonal divide between ‘Revenge of the Sith’, and A New Hope. In doing so, I uncover the underlying archetypal ascension tale that drives the story towards the original saga.’

^ Thought it quite interesting and well worth a watch; some good insights and intriguing interpretations too.

The last Fan Edit you have seen thread...
Time

This thread has been temporarily locked - in order to sift through the posts in here.

It is strongly suggested everyone reads the ‘Fan edit/preservation forum rules and FAQ’ and please take extra notice of this rule:-

 1. Before obtaining any fan edits, you must be in ownership of the official retail release.

This thread is now open again - please stay on topic.

If anyone has any issues, questions or problems feel free to PM me, thank you.

I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I feel like these should be included:

Star Wars Laser Disc Audio Archive

schorman’s HDTV Star Wars Saga Preservation

Absolutely mate - my apologies for missing them out.

(It was bit of a haze at times compiling it - so there may be a few more quality edits, projects or worthy threads missing…)

If anyone has a project, edit or thread etc they would like added to this, then please post it below - thank you 😃

Harmy has put up a video on youtube - just to remind everyone that Fan Edits must never be bought or sold:-

www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrwKZHv4OS0 - a 4 minute video at the Harmy Despecialized youtuhe channel.

Personally, as a member here, I’d encourage everyone to watch it and upvote that video.

Our likely best hope of a professionally done and released restoration for a 4K theatrical version of the Original Trilogy probably lies here - with poita’s superb The Original Trilogy restored from 35mm prints ongoing project.

The 4KXX Original Trilogy project by the good people at thestarwarstrilogy.com are also well worth reading up on and following…

Some info & help for TN1’s 4K77, 4K80, and 4K83 projects of the Original Trilogy…

TheStarWarsTrilogy.com - and invite codes to it (read the actual thread before posting!)

A quick online search of ‘how to post pictures on originaltrilogy.com’ should do the trick mate 😃

If you’d like to post pictures up on here then try this…

^ instead of the ‘{}’ above, put these two [] in their place - and the image will appear 😃

or try this handy guide (not just for pictures):-

https://markdown-it.github.io/ (and scroll down to ‘Images’ on the right hand side column)

You may also wish to check to see if there is already a meme thread…

Box/sleeve help if possible (using existing art from Criterion-like box set for njvc's custom blu-ray set)
Time

It may be worth buying a really cheap boxset from ebay, a market stall, charity shop or similar - just to get hold of a boxset to carefully take apart, see how it was put together, the measurements, the folds and tabs - just to practice with / on.

May be an idea to post a couple of pics of your boxset to see how you’re getting on? - and for others who’ve already completed theirs to give some pointers / advice etc

Good luck with it 😃

‘Trump retweets British far-right leader’s anti-Muslim videos’…

Even after all he has said and done. The US President supporting a fascist group, who had a member that assassinated one of my countries’ (UK) politicians is a new low. If Trump wants to support Nazis in his own country, that’s his right I suppose but don’t bring aid and comfort to enemies of my country please, if you still want to claim to be our ally.

Aye, Trump may well be a moron - though surprising that no-one is reigning him on his tweets (or activities in general) in at all.

WTF is he doing following - let alone endorsing - that particular group in the first place?

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * NON SPOILER * THREAD
Time

Diversity, tolerance, culture and understanding was in short supply back in the 80’s - and seems a few European countries didn’t like the word ‘ninja’ in kids tv programs, and also cut some content too.

Wiki has the reason for TMHT as this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles#Teenage_Mutant_.22Hero.22_Turtles

(’…since local censorship policies deemed the word ninja to have excessively violent connotations for a children’s program…’)

So we had ‘Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles’ until 2003 (I never realised there was a difference or content was cut) - I imagine the reason why it wasn’t renamed back to ‘Ninja’ earlier was likely to do with costs etc.

Looking back, many kids were all out with friends or playing sport / music, getting into mischief etc - watching tv was for rainy days and kids who were being punished / ill / recovering from accidents etc (and computer gaming was for winter). I vividly remember the old girl bellowing out ‘be back for tea (dinner) and not before, and don’t be late either!’

Not at all like today’s youth.

The Last Jedi has received a 12A rating in the UK (and passed uncut) - http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/star-wars-last-jedi-2017

Guess there isn’t any head butting going on, which is where AOTC got into trouble. And I thought the ratings board here in the U.S. was weird. 😉

The BBFC can be a strange bunch at times 😃 Though they are concise, clear and helpful as to giving reasons why and how films could meet a certain certification - and explaining their decisions.

They’ll even reply to the public’s queries as to their decisions:-

http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/bbfc_defends_head_butt_removal_66745.asp

The BBFC were fairly consistent about it - a few other films ‘suffered’ the headbutt cut around that time in order to meet the PG rating; I think around that time there were a number of copycat incidents where kids in the UK were emulating film scenes and injuring themselves - so you can imagine the political and mob-media pressure.

Sadly there is no BBFC rating for bad Prequels 😉
