you think most people are anyway.

What’s a word for “higher than most but lower than all?”

utmost

ut·most
ˈətˌmōst/
adjective

1.
most extreme; greatest.

noun

1.
the greatest or most extreme extent or amount.

Yeah but all would be the greatest or most extreme, so try again.

exceedingly.

hypermajority.
supermajority.

penomnis. (which isn’t in the dictionary but is a derived from the latin prefix “pen-” (eg. penultimate) meaning almost, and “omnis” meaning all, so it could valid, albeit people wouldn’t know what you meant by it since it’s not in common vocabulary.

I think it’s ‘pen omnis’ (two words) - my Latin is a little rusty - though still remember the smack around the back of head when taking the mick, as young teenagers do, in Latin class many years ago.

I 100% believe Del Toro’s character was originally envisioned for Lando. The whole Canto stuff seems so separate it may end up on MY cutting room floor too.

On this, I saw DJ as an alternative, almost a mirror, to Han - yet DJ is the character that never picked a side, and continued on a path where money ruled his head - and heart.

Though that is just my take, of course.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

adywan said:

The casino planet actually added quite a bit to the story and for what is to come. Little threads in the film that lead up to the ending and also showed that not everything is black and white (the resistance is dealing with the same people who deal with the first order). The resistance has now become the rebellion and is all but gone at the end of the film. Something that was said earlier on (and again later). “We are the spark that will light the fire that will burn the first order down”.

Canto Bight is a planet where the rich and elite congregate in luxurious overindulgence while the rest of the inhabitants live in extreme poverty and slavery, including the children. Finn and Roses interactions with those inhabitants is a major factor here. they show the willingness to fight for freedom. At the end we see the children telling their story and then a single child use the force to grab the broom, he has the rebellion ring. The seeds of rebellion are planted. So Finn and Rose are that spark that will light the fire that will burn the first order down.

There are so many little details that are easily missed on a single viewing. I’ll write a proper review once i have seen it again. So far i liked it.

Very much agree.

I think a few people may have missed that the boy at the end used the Force to call the broom to him, and that it is the events at Canto Bight - as well as other places that the Resistance have been - that will likely inspire others (the light that sparks the fire) to fight the good fight.

That’s not to say I thought the Canto Bight scenes felt a little ‘off’ amongst the cutting between other events - but thought the scenes on the whole there were fine. (I think the CGI was a little off in certain shots but look forward to watching it again to see).

Am definitely going to need a few more viewings to take everything in - damn you Disney taking my money this way by making an interesting and layered Star Wars film (insert a Fry ‘take my money’ style pic here) that I want to go back and see again…

Tomo, I hope you don’t mind, mate - I’ve edited the thread title just a little to give a bit more of a heads-up as to there being spoilers inside this thread.

Good luck with it - I’ve just got back from seeing it for the first time - and have a feeling there may be some varied and differing takes / approaches to fan edits of The Last Jedi…

(I did enjoy TLJ - a lot, though I think this film may require a few viewings to take everything in)

I could see a few trims to humour, and a few scenes where the CGI didn’t quite work / sit right (though a 2nd viewing is very likely required).

As stated in the other TLJ Spoiler thread… it’ll be interesting to see what deleted scenes we’ll end up getting (and IF those deleted scenes will be in an initial TLJ home release…)

Looks like I will be busy with Time Code removal requests lol

😃

Hopefully it won’t be an issue this time around - and they’ll be ‘polished’ and ready ‘out of the box’, so to speak.

Hi Nordo,

This site has no connection with how people obtain the Despecialized Editions - or any other Preservation or Fan Edit etc - for that matter.

However, you may get an answer - or some help - if you were to ask your question in this thread, here:-

This section of the site is for more for reporting bugs and issues with the software of the site itself.

Good luck with it - and welcome to the site 😃

I said a while ago that the Blu_ray/ DVD versions won’t be available until mid next year at the earliest

Thanks, I obviously completely missed that!

Why waiting that long by the way ? I understand that making a full bluray with menu and features takes time, but if the fanedit already exists in high quality I fail to understand why a mkv of the ucompressed version of the edit is postoned to next summer.

The mkv is already out there. I’m not sure what you are referring to here

I think he’s requesting a second MKV be released that matches the bit rate you plan to use on the Bluray.

Otherwise, he’s requesting what we’re all secretly craving, a lossless 10-bit x265 encoded mkv that is an exact representation of what’s on your computer as a finished project, complete with the audio in LPCM. Then everyone can customize/reencode the file on their computer on their own time to fit their target device or media.

I think he is a she, and if you think I’m gonna complete that ROTS quote,

Actually, it’s an AOTC quote.

Exactly.

I’m pretty sure this is the moment for that signal Obi-Wan does stroking his mustache.

An example of actual decent comedy in the prequels.

And of course that’s the one they cut.

I thought the comedy in that scene was terrible, but much like 99% of the attempted comedy in the prequels

Can we please not bring the Prequels up again just to criticize them for the billionth time?

Adywan is simply giving his opinion on a scene, and comparing it to others similar from the Prequels - whether that is positive or negative - is neither here or there.

This is Adywan’s thread, and if a subject comes up of interest that he wishes to reply to, or give his opinion to - he is welcome to do so.

Yep, I think I might have read a major spoiler in the comments of a comedy video about avoiding TLJ spoilers.

People suck.

People have been putting up spoilers for TLJ that aren’t even real mate.

I hope this is the case for many of you that have been spoiled.

Hi and welcome to the site.

The information you seek can be found here mate:-

http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V27-MKV-IS-OUT-NOW/id/12713

and dahmage is correct - you should own the blu ray or Digital Download releases to have the DeSpecialized Editions:-

‘Remember, as with any fan edit, YOU MAY ONLY DOWNLOAD THIS PROJECT IF YOU ARE A LEGAL OWNER OF THE OFFICIAL SOURCE. For Harmy’s DE project, this means YOU MUST OWN AN OFFICIAL HD RELEASE for each respective film (i.e. Star Wars Episodes IV, V, & VI), such as the official Blu-ray Disks or digital purchase.’

Its happening. Now Disney will have full control over Star Wars, including the rights to Star Wars '77.

Also they can use Galactus and Doctor Doom in the MCU.

Top post - and well in the BBC for making it clear what is - and what is not - involved in this purchase.

Saw it last night (UK) and I’m still reeling…

The UK isn’t that bad mate - I know things have been tough the last 10 years, and the cuts to everything over the last 7 especially, plus, yes - the weather is always shite… yet UK cinemas are still decent to watch a film in… oh… hang on you’re talking about the film itself…

I enjoyed it - it certainly isn’t a re-hash of what has gone before, and has taken some risks.

Surprisingly there were some CGI issues in a couple of places - though will be interesting to see if they are as noticeable on a 2nd sitting - or when eventually viewed at home.

I liked the humour in the main, the Canto Bight section didn’t quite work for me - though an intriguing end.

There were a couple of convenient plot stretches - like the CGI above - I’ll await a 2nd viewing to see if they are as noticeable.

Episode IX certainly has a lot to do - and wrap up (if it chooses to).

Very much looking forward to seeing TLJ again soon.

I think a few of the Fan Editors on here will be quite busy - given that the film may generate a few differing approaches and attitudes to what they would like to take from, and aim towards with, this movie…

Someone else is tweeting from Trump’s account tonight.

Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!

He’s back now…

‘The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!’

I’m just surprised he didn’t delete the previous tweet.

I think we must question his ability to perform such a task as hitting the delete button himself - and not having others do it for him. (I’m surprised his puppetmasters still allow him access to his phone when he is alone… 😉)
