Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **

Doesn’t sound very promising for “Solo” even if only part of this rumour spoken about in the below video is true…

We should all be a little wary of these opinion / click-bait videos and articles - let alone the more mainstream media 😉

Star Wars is an easy brand to generate misleading publicity on - and even if the some of the opinion and insight on there is of note - it should probably be taken with a pinch of salt.

Sorry Jason but I’m not buying his diplomatic talk over everything else he has already said about the matter on top of his reaction after his first viewing speaking volumes about his feelings on the matter. I think he’s dying to say what he really thinks about the whole matter but at the same time doesn’t want to jeopardise his role in IX by pissing off Disney.

This video pulls some of those comments together along with his post viewing reaction, though I wish it didn’t have the bleeding heart violin music over the top of it all.

That’s ok mate - I’m not asking you to buy anything 😉

Though this is just a twitter ‘like’ from the man himself - who has gone on record to give a more accurate portrayal of his feelings towards the film (likely, after seeing some of those opinions distorted in videos where his many interviews are cut together, out of context, to portray something he may not agree with).

If I were in his shoes I wouldn’t be too happy with that - and I don’t believe there are many that would be either.

Though that’s the clickbait nature of the internet - especially social media - these days.

You are correct - what is it with the music in these videos?

CONFIRMED - OOJASON HATES ALL MUSIC IN VIDEOS - CLICK HERE FOR PROOF… 😉

Just release all films sepperatly on each of their 40th anniversary

A little late for that…

True but they could release to coincide with Solo: A Star Wars Story or a release of The Last Jedi if possible

I meant a Blu Ray that may be 4K

Mate - you’re talking to yourself 😃

Is Disney really just going to hope against hope that the billions of movie-watchers who heard Snoke himself utter the phrase “Knights of Ren” in the previous film will never wonder what become of the KoR?

We are only two parts finished of this Sequel Trilogy - there is a reasonable chance that the Knights Of Ren may be mentioned again - or their story told - in the final part of this Trilogy.

If not - you indeed have a valid point. Until then though…

4K restoration on Star Wars

these where leaks from people on the steve Hoffman forums so maybe it is bullshit Idk

Mate, if you’re going to make claims as you did - then it is a very good idea to have sources to hand to back them up.

Or, if it is just hearsay from other people on a different forum then say so - and don’t make an assertion that is then later backed up by ‘so maybe it is bullshit Idk’.

4K restoration on Star Wars

It’s well known within industry circles that the plan was to release the OT’s theatrical versions in new 4K transfers prior to ‘The Force Awakens’ but the 1977 film needed a lot more work than initially thought - Disney even went so far as to ask the Library of Congress for a scan of the print they’ve had in their archives since 1978 - and so it was put back until the 40th anniversary in 2017… But we haven’t seen them yet so maybe 2018 to coincide with either Solo: A Star Wars Story or may come after the 4k release of TLJ cause that would kick ass

Please feel free to list sources for these claims.

Oh, so you’re one of those people…

Yeah, I’m a person who prefers real characters over feminazi Mary Sues.

I’m a person who prefers, on Christmas Day - or any other day for that matter, isn’t looking up definitions of FemiNazis on the internet - yet, thanks to you, I am.

And then also tidying up your TLJ spoiler posts in this thread.

THIS

Out of all things to be up and arms about, I still have zero issue with that scene. It always looked like the bombs were being propelled via electromagnetism or similar to fall down.

Aye, some more info here on them…

It’ll be interesting to see members’ views after Episode IX is released and we’ve all had time to take in the Sequel Trilogy as a whole.

As of right now, a lot of the differing and passionate opinions on here and throughout the various threads… may well change upon completion and reflection of seeing everything in the ST tied together - as a trilogy in itself, and as part of the whole saga overall.

Two down, one to go… 😃

That’s an interesting question indeed. Aside from the ST, I think it’s also interesting to consider how the ST will connect to the rest of the saga. It is meant to be part of a nine part saga afterall. I’m a bit skeptical, but TLJ does make it impossible for Abrams to create ROTJ 2.0, so it may turn out to be the greatest setup in the history of Star Wars.

Cough… six part saga… cough… (9 if you wish to count the Ewok films and Holiday Special) 😉

I fully agree with you re JJ and ROTJ 2.0 now - the setup is all there… bring it on 😃

If people are complaining that TFA was too safe - and now complaining that it is too different - then that is no comment on the quality (good or bad etc) of the film itself. These is no inference in their statements that ‘different is automatically good’ at all.

I suppose to a degree, although criticizing a film for being too safe, does imply it would have been better, if it was less safe. Being safe is percieved as a weakness of the film, meaning it would be stronger without that weakness. Since, TLJ is percieved as not being safe, that would imply it does not have this weakness, even of it may have a host of other weaknesses. I think it goes a bit far to suggest, that a film being too similar or too different isn’t in some way meant to reflect of the quality of the film in question.

A film can be quality and enjoyable and many positive other things (as well as on the negative side - or just plain shite 😉) - though still be ‘played safe’ overall.

For me, being ‘played safe’ is not a weakness at all - especially for example… the context of TFA (as stated above, the $4b acquisition and coming after the Prequels).

this is too real.

Since when is different automatically good?

Someone actually demonstrated as well how TLJ is still generally a repeat of a lot of parts TESB and some ROTJ, it’s just no where near as obvious and in your face as TFA was.

.Val

.Val mate, a point of view in the form of a video for your consideration in regard to TFA… (done before TLJ was filmed)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pueu2wu0M5s

Cool video. I was never too bothered by TFA being derivative. It seemed to be pretty honest about that. And it seemed to serve a purpose of giving the audience the familiar together with the new so that a brand new Star Wars stories could stem from there.

Me neither - after the Prequels and the $4b acquisition it was understandable that they played it like that - with lots of PR on the appreciation and love of all things OT.

TLJ on the other hand goes out of its way to do a deconstruction of the events of episodes 5 and 6, even though it had infinite possibilities where to go from the end of TFA. And for some reason it is heralded as being completely different from anything that came before by its fans and critics alike.

Just my opinion - I thought that TLJ went out of it’s way to change fans’ expectations of what was to come given the set-up of TFA - to challenge those expectations and perceptions and taking the story in a new unforeseen direction. (I didn’t see it as deconstructing ESB & ROTJ).

Right now, does anyone really know how Ep IX will play out? And that’s in pretty cool place to be (I think, especially as JJ was the director who understandably ‘played is safe’ somewhat with TFA and is now back for IX).

The sequel trilogy doesn’t feel like Star Wars to me. It is “The Star Wars Experience”. Familiar tropes being coupled with updated visuals with a thick layer of a shallow social commentary on top.

I’m sorry you feel that way mate - I hope upon Ep IX will do something to get that feeling back to you - as a film in itself or looking back as a Trilogy overall.
