My thoughts are that Holdo was more than competent in the theatrical version of TLJ.

Though a nice try on a technical level from the editor there with inserting Ackbar back into their version. Decent voice work as well (and at the very end too) 😃

IIRC the default setting on Handbrake does result in a fair bit of loss to the quality (it’s been a while since I’ve used it, and there’s likely been a few changes).

I think I used to use a video setting on the RF scale of 12-14, though would have a play around with them to find the which setting gave the best / most acceptable results.

Handbrake is a decent, free and easy-to-use piece of software that can convert many differing file formats pretty well.

Just finished the 2nd season of Peaky Blinders - a UK crime drama set in 1920s Birmingham, England in the aftermath of World War I. The series follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family, a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps (hence the title), under the guide of fierce boss Tommy Shelby.

Pretty decent tv with some welcome twists and surprises along the way - if you can get past the accents 😉

I hope Episode IX does bring the fan-base back together… though with the amount of monetised clickbait, negativity and toxicity written about Star Wars of late - some of it intentionally focusing on creating and continuing a polarision within the fan-base (insert keywords into videos and articles such as RJ, KK, Disney, Mary Sue, feminism, agendas, SJWs etc do/does this - and then rinse and repeat; with little to no facts, balance or responsibility required)… I somehow doubt it.

That’ll all be before any balanced or constructive criticism for any aspects some fans may not like or enjoy with Episode IX.

Though man, I hope to be wrong on that.

Re your issues with the PS3 not playing the Despecialized discs - have you tried playing the discs in another PS3 (friend, family, neighbour’s etc) to see if they play in there? Does your Despecialized discs work in other bly ray players?

It does sound like there may be an issue with the discs themselves.

Have you tried reporting the issue to FanEdit•info - they may be able to fix any issues or re-upload?

Hopefully the project threads will soon get back to being discussions about the actual projects themselves - queries, feedback, reviews, exchange of ideas, suggestions for future versions etc - and not be full of endless & unnecessary ‘link request’ posts.

We’ve had a number of fan editors, preservationists, tech wizzes and regular members… leave the community in recent times… as many grow frustrated that the forum has seemingly become more of ‘a link request site’. With conversations on the actual projects being disrupted and curtailed by the needless / lazy / aggressive ‘link request’ posts and unsolicited PMs (“I’m not reading your rules or links - just give me the f****** link” - basically ‘I’m not gonna look up how to get this - someone do it for me’).
 

Fellow members are more likely to help you out if you are a participating member of the community here; you don’t have to be a fellow fan editor, preservationist, tech wiz, artistic or skilled etc… just a member that has made, or is making, an effort.

NOTE: Many editors & preservationists choose not to make their projects available to ‘hit & runners’ or people with a post history of mainly asking for various projects - which is completely up to them. That some people join up here looking to simply take - instead of give something back; not even leaving a simple ‘thank you’, feedback or review, or join in with the community here - and instead move on to asking for more projects… is not encouraged. Such requests may likely be ignored or deleted.
