<strong>LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars</strong> - a general discussion thread
Time

They certainly seem to be working hard on introducing Star Wars to a new generation of younger fans (and us oldies who are still young at heart 😉)

Will give this a go - the Lego features usually have a nod and a wink for us older fans in amongst the content too, which is a nice touch - plus can be quite funny at times as well…

Star Wars Books. Good Recommendations?
Time

The new ‘Star Wars Archives: 1977-1983’ book has me somewhat intrigued… though not at £120 (around $150 US)

The offal write-up - https://www.starwars.com/news/the-star-wars-archives

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-Archives-1977-1983/dp/3836563401/

Has anyone parted with their hard-earned for this - what did you think of it?

Forgot all about this thread…

Electric Youth are well worth a listen too; a decent mix here - youtube mix link

with Without You, A Real Hero, We Are The Youth, Runaway, The Best Thing, Right Back To You, Turn It Up, Faces, Fade Away, Tomorrow, Turn It Up, Innocence, Modern Fears, & Final Girl really standing out on the retro 80’s electronica nostalgia 😃

Really great vocals from Bronwyn Griffin, and an unmistakable 80’s beat and vibe behind them from Austin Garrick - hope they do well.

Twitter : Facebook : Discogs : Wiki : YouTube : YouTube VEVO

There is also a quality youtube channel - New Retro Wave - contains lots of neo-80’s electronica music from many different bands, artists and styles of music. A fair few playlists to help narrow down what some fans may be looking for too…

https://www.youtube.com/user/NewRetroWave/videos : https://twitter.com/NewRetroWave : https://newretrowave.com/

The site linked above is quite vast - featuring forums, radio station, music player, news, reviews, retro gaming, art section, merch store and contests…

The Midnight are quite decent too (with some quality sax solos)…

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-sM_PLqzgktdUcW2LEKKkQ/playlists : https://www.themidnightofficial.com/

Love their ‘Sunset’ tune set to Career Opportunities, ‘Gloria’ to Back To The Future, The Comeback Kid to Karate Kid, and ‘Light Years’ set to Stranger Things, ‘Collateral’ to Terminator, ‘Los Angeles’ set to La La Land, ‘Vampires’ with their own video, ‘We Move Forward’, plus a lot more…

Seems to be pretty decent live too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ULYO4XMoJQ (and some great duets with Nikki Flores)

Doctor Who

A shame you gave up after Rosa mate, think you missed out some good episodes and intriguing stories - not without faults or criticism, but enjoyable overall.

Re the viewing figures - how so a ‘nosedive’ mate? Comparing season 11’s viewing figures to season 10’s - they have improved… both seasons lose viewers as the series progresses, yet season 11’s lowest rating beats the highest rating of season 10:-

http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/doctor-who-series-11-2018-uk-ratings-accumulator-88397.htm

http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/doctor-who-series-10-2017-uk-ratings-accumulator-84045.htm

Season 11 had generally positive reviews overall in the UK mainstream media (that I read, anyway - Guardian, Mirror, Telegraph, Times, Independent & Metro).

Though I don’t know much about the complaints ‘about the PC subject matter’ - didn’t see any of it myself, yet am sure many social media clickbaiters were / are out in force (as they seemingly are so for so many other franchises / series).

Not saying the season wasn’t without it’s faults - yet hopefully some will be ironed out for Season 2 as everyone is more settled into the show. Some of the criticism over the ‘villains’ seems fair enough, as does not really delving into the companions individually (though has been an emphasis on ‘team’ this season), and a little more focus on the Doctor herself would be welcome in the future, I think.

Hope you enjoy Season 2 more mate.

The best way to print Blu-ray covers?
Time

There may be some threads of interest and help about this (and printing tips and assistance) in the Index thread, mate.

Usually, it’s because Adobe Reader has a default of ‘Fit to Printable Area’ - untick or deselect this option, and also check to see if there any margins being used that could result in your image being resized.

This guide below explains it far better than I can (I think you can ignore the paper size content)

’Why Don’t PDFs Print at the Same Size as the Original?'

https://askleo.com/why_dont_pdfs_print_at_the_same_size_as_the_original/

Good luck with it mate - hope it works for you 😃

Cast for The Mandalorian announced…

https://www.starwars.com/news/pedro-pascal-revealed-as-the-mandalorian

'Lucasfilm is pleased to announce the cast of the first-ever Star Wars live-action series — The Mandalorian.

Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to,” says Executive Producer Jon Favreau.

Currently in production, The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The highly-anticipated series will be exclusive to Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, which is set to launch in the U.S. in late 2019.’

Not sure if Screams wanted to include twitter pages (as they’re not really websites) - yet thought these may be of some interest - especially from an OT point of view…

Star Wars 1977-1983 - some great pics and info

Star Wars 1977-1996 - some great pics and info, from a more civilised time…

Classic Star Wars - as above, with an emphasis on the toys / merch at the time

Star Wars Underworld - decent enough news and info site for all things Star Wars

OriginalTrilogy.com - seems familiar somehow… 😉
