Star Wars Prequels 35mm 4K Filmized Editions by Emanswfan (a WIP)

So maybe by the end of summer, you'll at least have ROTS w/ deleted scenes.

Looking forward to it. The first fanedit I ever attempted was ROTS, but I had only made it to play on my ipod, so the quality was never that good. I'd love to recreate it using your version. I'm especially looking forward to AOTS though, since I feel that is the film that will benefit the most from your efforts.

Did Ady change that lizard (Komodo dragon) in Dagobah that was shown for couple of seconds? This:

I always thought that lizard was a bit out of place just like the snake Ronster talked about...

If I recall right, Ady added another eye to it, or something along those lines in one of the clips he released a while back.

Hey Ady, I asked this question a while back but it got buried since then, but were you still going to do work on the shadow of the Falcon during the Asteroid chase? It still appears to be a simple circle, and if I'm not mistaken, I recall you once saying you would make it more detailed.

Episode V: The Ridiculousness Strikes Back
Time

An idea I had while watching Conan the Barbarian recently...

When Vader knocks down Luke during their duel and sticks the lightsaber in his face, Vader could be re-dubbed with JEJ's line:

"That is strength boy! That is power! What is steel compared to the hand that wields it?"Then cut to Vader cutting off Luke's hand. It could also be said, with the line ending just as Vader cuts his hand off.

Where were all these positive feedbacks 2 years ago when I first posted the clip... :)

Ok, given the positive comments, I will use this solution (Tarkin remains silent), and make the final tweaks to finalize the scene.

This leaves just the following scene: Tarkin says: "I'm taking an awful risk, Vader. This had better work."

But whether this makes Vader weaker, or just Tarin insecure is not so clear. Any ideas, opinions?

As I said in my review, I do think it makes Vader a bit weaker, considering Tarkin's tone when he says "this had better work." It comes off as an "...or else" type of message to Vader, at least to me.

But I do feel this is much more debatable than "terminate her, immediately!" so if it is kept as-is, I think it could still work.

Idea: 'A Song of Ice and Fire - Game of Thrones' - Film Cuts Discussion
Time

I've had thoughts that fan edits could exist for this series, in which all storylines that are separate enough could be split apart from the others and turned into their own films.

For example, Jon Snow and Daenerys have stories that rarely, if ever, connect to the stories happening in Westeros. Considering that a LOT of screentime is cut out when editing this way, it's possible to create a 2-3 hour film that only covers their stories of the season.

This could apply to other characters as well, such as Tyrion, the Hound, Arya, etc. Ned Stark's story could make a good film I believe, if done right, though that one may have to be two films, or one long one, since his story covered almost the whole first season.

The way I imagine it, it would be not too different from the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which they all exist within the same continuity, but do not qualify as sequels to each other, if that makes sense.

That's just what I've been thinking over lately. I'm not sure I'd be willing to tackle that HUGE series of edits though, unless it were just for my own personal viewing.

ANH:R - Stronger Vader edit: *** Released ***
Time

I definitely think that Tarkin's lines in that scene go against the point of this edit. Another option would be to cut after Vader says "I told you she wouldn't consciously betray the rebellion," then maybe cut to a silent-but-frustrated Tarkin, if possible.

Another alternative would be to have the Imperial that reported the failure to locate the rebel base not leave immediately, and have it appear that Tarkin barks the order at him instead. This might take some effort to make happen though, through After Effects or similar means.

If there are any worthwhile scores cut from ESB (Or anything from the OT in general), perhaps they could be salvaged and seamlessly inserted in the Prequels:R.

I really like this idea. If it is unused in the OT originally, then it's a great way to blend the feel of the two trilogies together more, musically.

Anyone else ever wondered why Vader saves Chewies life?

As Han is getting frozen, Chewie kicks off, Boba is about to blast him, Vader pushes Bobas gun away. Considering Chewie is of no use to Vader, and Vaders fondness of choking even his own buddies, I always wondered why he spares the wookiee. Maybe under that dark exterior he's an animal lover.

I used to have a theory that Vader subconsciously knew to keep Leia from being shot, maybe through the force. The reason I had this theory was because the look that Leia gives Vader after he prevented Boba's shooting. It was like there was a moment there, between them, but neither understood it at that time.

But, after dwelling on it, I wasn't so sure if it was plausible or not as an explanation.

The Star Wars Mono-logy (a 3-in-1 OT Edit: hard drive failure ended the project)
Time

I'm not sure if you are planning on revealing the 2nd Death Star during the ESB scenes, or keeping it within the ROTJ section. However, you could cut from the Millennium Falcon's departure from the Rebel fleet and wipe to Vader arriving at the 2nd Death Star, but possibly have Palpatine already there, waiting in the throne room for Vader to come report to him? I don't know, just throwing some ideas in there.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I always assumed that the Star Destroyer couldn't detect the location of the Falcon simply because it was in a sweet spot where it could be parked ON the much larger ship, making it appear that the Falcon is just another piece of a huge mass on their radars or sensors, or whatever they were using. Not to mention they were in a nice spot where no naked eyes inside the ship could see them hiding there.

I feel it doesn't need to be any further complicated than that. After all, we've all understood that scene without confusion since 1980, or whenever we first saw the movie.

I think the shots are fine as they are but if one did want to add a bit more dynamism to the camera movement, a bit of rotation could help. Here's a rough demonstration of the idea: http://uloz.to/xqKJtVAq/escape-from-hoth-revisited-mp4

I'm not one to diminish the incredible job Ady is doing with this edit, but THAT little motion just made what Ady did with the Canyon shot more…. WOW!

DEFINITELY adds to the incredible job Ady already did - as if that were possible - but your "rough" demonstration just puts it right over the top.

+1

I hope Ady will consider this as well.

Love this edit Ady! Model works spot on with the rest of the chase.

Only one question, are you planning on adding a few laser blasts as the Ties enter the canyon? They suddenly stop firing when theres a camera change. Think this may be in the original too? Bit jarring.

Maybe adding 2 or 3 blaster shots after the camera cut to your model will also blend the two scenes. Could maybe have one shot hit the falcon so they don't look so inept like storm troopers.

(Actually, before you rebuilt and filmed the canyon, did you not do this before in your edit? Or am i getting a de jar jar vue?)

Still, great work man!

Seriously, this sudden stop in firing/continuity bothered no one?

No, it bothers me too, just that I only recently started noticing it, so I have to remember that between the last time I saw the film, and the first time several decades ago, it was fine.

If Ady decides to change it, it won't bother me.

I think subtracting this visceral cinematography is a great loss; the replacement dolly shots render this set piece decidedly more static.

Given the superior craft which has distinguished this edit (and which is, in fact, exemplified by this remade canyon segment), offering up such critiques can seem almost too harsh. Ultimately, I agree with what Alonzo Mosely posted earlier - ESB:R will come to redefine people's very notion of a "fan edit". But if it's not too late, I'd hope that the original cinematography for this section could be replicated.

I agree with this. The new shot looks great, but it isn't a perfect replication of the camera movement.

Of course, if it is too late, it's not a complete tragedy at all. It will still be an improvement, effects-wise. But I could only imagine the frustration Ady will feel if it is indeed, too late to re-do this shot.

A question for Ady:

I thought I had recalled you saying that the shadow of the Falcon would be a bit more defined, rather than just being a perfect circle without the front "prongs". Did you decide to just keep it the way it was already? If so, what were the reasons? Just curious.

And also, looking at the two versions, I am kinda leaning toward the first one you posted, with the TIEs crashing a millisecond slower.
