Yes you did, sweat loaf*. What did you think about the ABORTION point they made? (at around 7 minutes left in the program)

(paraphrasing) the abortion point made in the podcast was that more fetuses are dispelled from human female bodies by natural causes then by abortion technicians*. (I believe this applies to Locust* ones too.)

Over in this thread:

All 6 Star Wars films, every shot has been listed in a google doc. There is a publicly editable version which anyone can take (SAVE AS) and do whatever they want. This could be a possibly way to quickly push and pull scenes to see how a possible edit might read.

The second episode to me should be expanded to follow the story of the girl who watched the protagonist. (she taught him how to get food from the vending machines, see her story as a THX-1138 thing, she's the one that gets out) The third episode seemed the most realistic, which is sad as it'll probably happen repeatedly when that technology becomes real. But liked the balls to the wall premise of the first even though there's several serious logic defaults.

Had been hearing/reading people talk about Louis CK. So checked out the sitcom Lucky Louie (HBO 2006?) and the current Louie (FX) (standup/segments). Having watched the later first, those moments stand out more to me. Also tried the Beacon show he's got from his website: https://buy.louisck.net/ Find i'm remembering the moments of the Louie show the most often. Guy keeps trying things, we'll see how that changes with this Beacon project hitting a million bucks.

The other standout from this Louis CD stuff is Pamela Adlon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamela_Adlon), who i've also seen in Californication. (and she's done tons of voice work) Wondering when she'll get the chance for her own project.

THAT.

Just want to drop in with a new sound track for the thread. This is an old radio show I did in college, when Valentine's day came around, i'd play 3 hours of 'love' songs with accompaniment by the lovely queercore punk avant jazz band 'God Is My Co-Pilot's fantastic free-jazz freak out 'Sex Is For Making Babies'. (Mp3 is a 3 hour show condensced into 7 minutes)

fuck who you want the straight people will make more.

Going away, carry on. (but let me know when you all get to the topic of aborting clones, thanx)

Most people don't like to see pictures of dead fetuses. But they are a part of the debate. (and the topic held out the promise of no holds barred) I disagree with the moderation. There are people out on the streets showing similar pictures where I live, making their point. Seeing death is not bad. The 700 Club periodically shows images like this on cable tv. (the ABC Family channel btw) Sweeping them under the rug is just that. It's sad, maybe, when breeding goes off, but when your sterile, this debate is just phunnie.

Upset that both our alternative contributions to this thread are unappreciated.

So now let's get into Financing!

Using the chart from the previous page:

We've got 41.6 million abortions. So how much per person is that to financially support off to the USDA.GOV's 'Cost of Raising a Child Calculator':

http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/calculator.htm

(notice how there is no Zero parent option. I would speculate that government would need to spend more to get an equal level of care*) *only rarely orphanage care can be considered on par with the medium quality parents.

So 1 person = $9,714/year let's just round to 10 grand.

10k * 18 years * 41.6 million = 7.5 trillion (now) dollars. required every year.

And there's a reason why killing people through abortion is legal. No one's interested in funding this societal debt.

There are 312 million people in the US, so 7.5T/312M = 24k per person per year to financially support all these people. Now yes this is a world problem so let's divide by the 7billion people (ignoring the collection of money from most of the world's population who don't earn enough to feed themselves) now were down to 1,070 dollars a year.

Ain't happening folks.

Scientists need to figure out womb implants so men can carry babies. With womb implants the conversion of body fat to fetus nutrients could make it a weight loss option, like the stomach band. While increasing the dead beat parenting, to include a third surrogate. Yeah sure, human body fat would probably not be sufficient for normal growth, but that's not the concern. Stuffing the box with procreation offspring is the grand plan to aspire too, the hamsters might be the best at this, but human beings should be forced to do the same. It's the best way to make Solent Green a reachable goal, so we can take the stomach fat fed babies and grind them back up to be re-eatten. It'll take some time to work out the kinks of this perpetual energy machine, but gosh darn it with some talented minds, a reality can be this will!

RotJ's Black Marker Shots
Time

SilverWook wrote: There is at least one shot where Artoo's eye seems artificially darkened. I think it's at the door to Jabba's lair?

The two close ups in this sequence (POV of 3po and the wall eye) look untouched. The wall eye POV shot, R2's eye is quite red. Also checked the first interior shot but that's looks unaffected. That might make an interesting cut-up sequence, piecing together all the eye shots and centering them to see the color changes.

TServo2049 wrote: It's a bit unfair to talk about this animation/roto work as "black marker." These were meant to be invisible fixes, and most of them worked - I never noticed any of these until you pointed them out.

No doubt, They worked. If I didn't watch the film at the wrong speed would have never pieced these together. But because of the old transfer method the 'blackness' of this work makes these items stand out. (when knowingly looking for them) On the color scale these are much closer to a sharpie then a natural film black, so that's why i'm wondering if they did use a marker. They seem like after thoughts, there were on set shadow for the other posts in the Boushh shot, but the lighting didn't cast one so they drew one on, the reveal is three frames, so that's a quick fix and the Luke hand is the longest on screen.

LeoneNut wrote: Does the animated figure on the sail barge count?

I don't see why not. These don't have a good classification, so throwing out similars will give us a bigger picture to make judgements. Problem is defining where to draw the line between all those Sail Barge and Skiff shadows and these other oddities. These skiff men are more refined to their surroundings as they were on screen longer. and they don't appear as dark in the GOUT.

Sorry, but I cannot organize the picture, just add photos and insert captions. (but if the order is an issue, i've got the pics as links in the shot guide, backup reference)

Harmy wrote: Simple, the 97SE was originally supposed to be SW only and when it was decided that they'd do ESB and ROTJ as well, they were just a little side project and a lot less work went into them.

I think the SW only idea was quickly thrown out the window. Judging from the amount of work, represented by the number of pics in the original SW.com guides (122, 151, 97) and the doubleofive guides (353, 345, 159), and the modified shot guide (315, 351, 220). Consistently RotJ had a lighter touch, but all the movies were significantly altered and I don't see what they've done to one movie much lesser then the others. SW seems in the middle, ESB got more clean up then new material while RotJ was primarily new additions.

There was talk in the 2011 BD thread of one of the reels of Jedi looking 'soft', wondering if this is related.

Has there been a discussion of the wipes and fades in RotJ? The ones unaffected by SE changes seem extremely close to the originals. So my first impression is they were not redone. Then the question becomes why? If the 83 fades are a one level down in quality, would make sense to redo them for the 97. (especially as all the others in the two prior movies were redone) Had technology improved so that the wipes created in 82 didn't loose much quality (many of the other SFX shots were untouched) or did the company reproducing the wipes in 97 figure out the correct settings and timing?

Great first episode. Didn't know much going in. Watched then read reviews and the comparison to the Twilight Zone is appropriate.

Really liked the scene before the act where the Prime Minister is getting advice from his staff as they walk down a hallway, the lady (can't remember her title) seems to know too much (as she's throwing out advice, dominering the conversation) and the action seemed to slow down and the pollster guy (played by the cop from Ideal) gives a glance as if he sees something bigger, right before the cut. Nothing came from the moment but it seemed like the place where future material could have derived from.

Shot List Spreadsheet - v0.6.05 - 6 films - Multiple SW Audio Mix Changes Added Recently
Time

Finished Special Edition Analysis of RotJ. Starting in Ver.0.5.05 there is a Summary tab which has the accumulative SE change documentation. Having done mostly Visual Change documentation, the 1997 SE change over the three Original Trilogy films is 14.21%. About 886 shots out of 6,235. (this doesn't compensate for a shot which might have both visual and audio, they are calculated separately so this percentage maybe high, but it on the other hand the percentage doesn't have a comprehensive audio change pass yet) Then proceeding to the 2004 set the change percentage jumps to 21.41%, and the 2011 set 23.05%. (again value is high as the calc doesn't undo redos and other repeat modifications to a shot over time.)

Also now in the spreadsheets are a column which lists the shot number. Realized the Scene-Shot-Sub_Shot naming was faulty, so may progress more towards consequtive values for each shot.

Might do a round of random trivia next. But need a break.
