Yodaspeak: A Study In Yoda's Speaking Patterns and Their Frequency in the Star Wars Movies
Time

http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2012/07/23/frank-oz-to-star-wars-fans-do-the-yoda-impression-i-wont/

Frank Oz was the voice of the wise and beloved Yoda and, more than 30 years after the character’s debut, not a month goes by without a fan approaching Oz with a simple request — but the answer is always the same: Do the impression he won’t.

The 68-year-old Hollywood Renaissance man — Muppet puppeteer, movie director and the voice behind the pint-sized Jedi master — holds his characters too sacred for such tripe.

“You wouldn’t parade your kids around like that, would you?” he said. “They’re part of me. I won’t use them as a party favor to impress people.”

Cloud Atlas - Lana/Andy Wachowskis & Tom Tykwer
Time

Forthcoming movie based on a book by David Mitchell.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_Atlas_%28novel%29

Trailer & pics: http://io9.com/5929189/first-6+minute-trailer-for-cloud-atlas-is-simply-stunning

Wachowskis are the Matrix folks and Tykwer is known for Run, Lola Run. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130827/ worth watching)  Each of the three directed different segments of the film which uses the same actors/actresses in different time periods as part of a larger story.

For me the cast is going to pull me out of the story.  Unfortunate, but I guess they felt they needed a narrow casting net to get attention.

The three directors explain the project in a video here: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Watch-Wachowskis-Tom-Tykwer-Explain-How-Cloud-Atlas-Got-Made-32133.html

The next step would be sending them an e-mail: http://www.hendersonsfilmindustries.co.uk/contactpage/contactpage01.htm

Looks like they are opening up a bit, moving the website only video to youtube.  Maybe with your book as background you can get a better deal at checking out the videos/show reels.  From the MH beard and Fisher's haircut, they seem only a few years old.

TV programs dedicated to those early sfx got it wrong: The Science Channel's 'The Science of the Movies'.

Don't know how I missed 'Back on Topps' the first time around.  For those who collected baseball cards in their youth, well there many in jokes (a whole episode about Steve Balboni!) but the show is more about their brand of humor then the business model.

Hope you get an answer from Mr. Edlund, none.

Done and Yes.  No response from Edlund and Perri, will resend as maybe it got lost in vacation time or spam filter eaten, if I don't post anything in a month or so, someone else send over a message to them as probably i'm coming across as a loon.

Tobar wrote: There seems to be an influx of new people as of late.

I think this is just the general trickle of new people interested in the movies, with the official forums gone and tf.n in retrofit less places to go.  Plus as the topics here offer more key word relevant film discussion... (well maybe not)

rabscuttle1 wrote: Just typed in star wars forums on google search.

These forums are number 5 in the returns.  The first two being official SW.com and the SWTOR gaming forums.  Number 4 on the list hasn't had a post in almost 3 years.  Number 7 is also not active.  Interesting that the top stop and another of the top 10 are SW gaming forums.

Are you sure this is what you want to do.  This is the same criticism i've got for the Prequel Appreciation Society, their blog spends an amount of time focusing on the things they don't like in fandom instead of being an Appreciation Society.  You are doing the same thing.  (of course you are partly answering my questions)  I've got no problem with this line of discussion, and this place is willing to go down these roads, but at some point if you really do want to discuss the movies, do just that.  Start a thread, or search through the forums, lots of issues are open for discussion.  You don't need to * letters, shit is a word.

Where were you posting/reading where you came across these people.

I just want to talk to someone that feels the same way, but I have yet to find anyone that feels the same.

If you're goal is to talk about what you like, then this might not be the best place.  Generally it's recognized that people appreciate SW here, but to spend all day saying they like it is something this forum is not known for.  We discuss other things, much of it revolves around preserving all the versions of these films.  Many people in http://boards.theforce.net/ forums sound like your target audience.  There's also places like: http://port-haven.com/index/ which have a mix of generalized SW chit-chat.  *EDIT* But if even this is not enough and you want full-on moderation to control what you read, then the Prequel Appreciation Society http://lazypadawan.proboards.com/ is the place to go.

Everywhere I look there're people claiming to be fans hating on star wars for one reason or another.

Another thing you'll have to get over is that many people (especially myself) do not consider themselves Star Wars fans, yet spend a lot of time talking about it.

^ You'll find that this forum permits all forms of discussion.  So the choice is yours to ignore it, confront it or go read somewhere else.  I'm curious where you've latched onto this anti-hater mentality or where did you previously read which contained these types of typing.  Many people consider this place one of the centers of that so-called agenda.
