Info Wanted: Making a 3-D Fan Edit Question
Time
Blue/red 3D works because the objects closer to the viewer have a greater blue/red shift then objects farther away. (...or the otherway around...not sure) So to have any effect approximating reality you would have to selectively apply these color shifts to the images. You would need some process which could figure out where images in frame are in relation to the camera, then apply the color shift accordingly. I think the 3d processes used in the past either used two cameras to capture or somehow shifted one color by a special lense.

http://www.3dglassesonline.com/how-do-3d-glasses-work/

Manually shifting the blue or red spectrum a 3-7 pixels might work for some of the space sequences where objects fly by camera quickly but overall it won't be 3D-ish.

Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?
Time
George to appear on Donald Trump's "Apprentice" (SW.com)

"On the show, film-maker Lucas will reportedly decide which team comes up with the better concept to promote the Dvd for his blockbuster Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith."

Not sure when the show will be, the SW.com article implies maybe early Nov. for the DVD release.

Additionally, this week's episode of Gilmore Girls had a running dialog bit based on the "I have the high ground" lines from RotS.

Idea: A restored version of... Turkish Star Wars? :-)
Time
Where can you get the official rerelease of T.S.W.? (couldn't track back from the picture location)

T.SW.SE.

ReverendBeastly, have you seen any subs for Turkish Star Trek? That one needs subs since most of it is verbal comedy. Still want to know what the back-attack-pinecones are....

TheCassidy, What's the Korean Blade Runner called? Saw the Korean Matrix, Sungnyangpali sonyeoui jaerim, it's not bad. it's only the K.M. because of some FX, it's a fairly original movie.

Delted Magic on Ebay!
Time
It's good policy to report a sale when the offering price is beyond resonable. (but $2.47 is not going to cover the cost of two discs and the case) IE, when the sellers looking for profits not distributing for the love of the material. ...and how you judge this is up to you... the grey line between copyright infringement and fair use is a vague one. Shutting down fradulent eBay auctions will help keep this place alive. bah blah blahddittyblah.

These movies are in the same vein as the HS but get you to that uneasy, oh my i'm really wasting my time/what the heck we're they thinking frame of mind. They miss the mainstream market by several parsecs.

Brazilian SW is a cross between a slapstick comedy/Sid & Marty Kroft adventure using SW references. and in my view, it has no redeeming qualities.

Turkish SW on the other hand, takes the adventures to a new level while at the same time doing some spectacular heavy lifting. I'd be interested in hearing if these movies are still available in Turkey, Yoda Is Your Father. The main actor in T:SW has done tons of films, so maybe these are still in VHS stores. Let us know what you find.

All of these movies are available online at specialty movie sites like Revenge is my Destiny.

Info & Help Wanted: Carrie Fisher Gem from Sci-Fi Channel - re Episodes 7,8,9??
Time
There is 30+ minutes of Billy Dee footage which has been adequately transfered to DVDr. (2+ gigs) There are no bells or whistles, just the straight footage.

I haven't heard back from the creator of this thread jra166, to coordinate the dvdr with his Carrie footage. It make sense to have them both together. But if too much time passes, the Billy stuff will be put out somehow.

.........the......pain.... ..... .... the...... .....h ...hh .hhHh.. horrror...

Brazilian SW is beyond dreadful. It's one of the few movies i own which i'll NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER watch again. it's just... uuug... i have a headache just thinking about it.

The one interesting thing about the movie though is that suppostedly LucasFilm did sue the production company for copyright infringement. I can't remember where i read it but Brazilian SW came out a few months before SW opened and that was the reason for the litigation.

Slowly the SW ripoff movies are making their ways to trrent trackers. Turkish has been around since the beginning and recently one of the Italian ones made it to thepiratebay, so is Brazilian SW makes it there, ce la vie. Yes it technically illegal, but i don't think the anyone except the people who watch the movie will complain.

you've been warned, you'll want those 80 minutes of your life back.... and don't eat the 'fruit'.

Idea: Create the Ultimate Star Wars Torrent Site.
Time
Downhillbattle has created an 'easy' to install/operate Torrent Tracker system called "blogtorrent".
This is a way to get a system started. But it lacks alot of the extra which a robust highly active torrent system needs.

In the thread to collect all documentaries, I had begun to set up a webpage to keep track of known items, weather they had been collected or not didn't matter.
I was going with the title: FlimsiPlast Database

This version just lists the items which exist. One of the next initiatives would be to make these pages dynamic so others could input data, for instance new titles or new locations to find the information, torrents for instance. (Click on "Casting Auditions" to see an individual entry, which would have the details)

Also on the info collecting scene is russs15's Galactic Trade Federation. They are approaching the documentation/collection from a what's been made into DVDr approach. They have screen caps and individual information on most of the fan made SW dvds.

As for now, it's probably best to just post the torrents you find in the Torrents Thread. I don't see many people posting non-spleen torrents but i'll start as i find things.

Another option for watching online, the fan captures of SW media, could be: DHB's "Participatory Culture". It's most likely similar to BlogTorrent, but i haven't mucked around with it yet. Although it would be frowned upon, for the use we're thinking of, but as long as it's under the radar...

Turkish Conan
Turkish The Sting
Turkish Exorcist
Turkish Young Frankenstein

Turkish is the best, partly because it rips the most. Pay extra attention to the details which went into the special effects. Brilliant 'severing' technique and their model makers matched the SW footage in every detail, truely astounding work. And for those naysayers who say the soundtrack reminds of them of some Indy-pendent film, hogwash! ...only Turkish SW has red wampas...

When your done with the old turkish sci-fi avant-retard-guard, check out the nu-skool:
G.O.R.A. Bir Uzay Filmi
it's the most expensive Turkish film ever, it's a sci-fi comedy with lots of hollywood references.

Thinking about it, maybe G.O.R.A. is what the Film Threat reviewer was talking about when a sequel to "Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam" was discussed.

Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam (Turkish SW) is also torrented in many places. There are subtitled versions available also. http://revengeismydestiny.com/ has a version available. Film Threat had an article about a possible prequel being made maybe 2-3 years ago, with original cast but i haven't seen anything more about it.

Other foreign SW ripoffs/takeoffs from the late 70's early 80's:
Japanese SW : Message from Space "Uchu kara no messegi" 1978
Japanese SW : Space Wars "One f the best space war films ever"
Italian SW : Star Crash (w/ David Hasselhoff)
Italian SW : The Humanoid "L'Umanoide"
Brazilian SW : Os Trapalhoes na Guerra Dos Planetas

...and i can tell you all now that "Star Worms II : Attack of the Pleasure Pods" although the title has a familiar ring to it, the connection to SW is nill. But it does slightly reflect THX-1138 in graphic design. I wonder if George is a fan of Troma?....

Stumpled upon this while attempting to collect swtv programs from other countries. Are there alot of foreign sw official sites? on the surface most of the content looks the same as sw.com but there always seems to be cooler things happening overseas. Anyone know how the 'H' Hyperspace logo becomes a 'J' over there?
